My first Textured Background Challenge card

Good Morning Ladies

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend, the weather wasn't the best but sometimes it's nice just to rest and have a weekend off  of gardening jobs.

We went to Mum's yesterday,  I will update you on that on tomorrow's blog, as I am writing this post on the way to Mum's house.

To create the 'Textured ' Background for this card I took a piece of Green Coloured Core card abd ran it through that Christmas Embossing Folder, the next step was to take a piece of sand paper and gently remove some of the top layer of the Embossed areas, revealing the white core. To embellish the card I die cut two ovals,  one scalloped one plain, I layered them and placed on my card front. I added a die cut Pine Cone and Fir sprigs from  SU Pretty Pines die set.
Ro finish the card I stamped a sentiment and added a red bow. I'm  quite pleased with how it turned out.
I think we all under value our embossing folders a bit, they make great backgrounds.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

Sandra-gorgeous Card, really lovely. Glad you managed to visit your Mum, I know you’ll be shattered today after a long day traveling.

I made 2 challenge cards yesterday & guess what-one if them was using colour core card! As the weather was so horrendous I had a great time in my craft room.
We still have Gale Force winds of over 50mph and.lnow it’s raining. It’s suite scary the winds being so strong. Oh well-off to work soon and I won’t see daylight until I’m leaving as we don’t have any windows in the Unit.

  6. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today.
What a beautiful card. I love the traditional colours and that ef is lovely. I agree that we don’t utilise our Ed’s enough ax they can really add something to a card. I do need to get a couple for Christmas that are A5 or bigger as I only have very small ones. I’m so happy that you had a lovely time at your Mums and Kim sending you gentle hugs as I know how much pain you will be in today xx
It is really windy here which I hate. It never used to bother me but the older I get the more it does worry me. It is a shame that plants will be battered and broken. At least your friend saved some of he is Sweet Peas Pat. They are one of my favourites.
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Num and all in need. Take care xx

    1. The sweet peas smell lovely Sue. I think he picked them before they got bashed too much. His allotment is just across the road from the pub that was ( flats now ) just before you turn into my road.

  7. Hi Sandra & ladies
Lovely textured card Sandra. I’m glad the weather stayed fine for you visit to your Mums yesterday.
Livvy has just brought me down a huge pizza. I’ll have to have half today & put the rest in the freezer. I knew she was going to make me one yesterday but didn’t realise it would be so big. This is her last week at the home and she’s just found that they haven’t paid her quite a few hrs worth of work. She’s owed her holiday money as well. So she’s not a happy bunny.
Very windy here as well today and it looks like extra children have gone into school today, although they’re not wearing any uniforms.
Managed to get my washing dry this morning. It actually looks like we could have some rain.
Take dare everyone and stay safe.

  8. Hello , very windy here, every thing getting really blown about in the garden.

Great card, yes I am also guilty of not using my EB folders, must get them out and have a look through them.

Glad you managed your trip yesterday, bet mum was thrilled.

Spent all morning tidying up my desk, now to start to make it messy again.

Washing all dry , so just needs ironing, hate that job.

    See you all tomorrow, Lilian
