Good Morning Ladies,
I hope that you are all well, we had another lovely day yesterday, it was very humid, which seems to make it a little harder to move around without setting the heart into a galloping rhythm, never mind I got to sit and watch the others work, Sophie and Lucy where washing their cars and each other half the time! Paul got to some gardening after he got home from work.
Today's card came about purely because I wanted to use that ribbon!
The categories I used are : Embossing/Ribbon/Red&Green
I used a Crafters Companion 8x8 Embossing folder to emboss a piece of cream card which I matted onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler card (a match made in heaven). The overall size of the card was A5, the embossed panel measured about 1/4 inch smaller.
I wrapped the gingham ribbon around this panel and finished it with a bow. I then die cut the sentiment and a couple of poinsettias using the Brittania Poinsettia die from Pink Frog crafts.
I Layered the poinsettias in red & green card to try and make them kind of realistic and to fit the challenge. I die cut the sentiment twice as it's quite delicate and layering made it a little more robust.
To finish the card I adhered the sentiment and the two poinsettias, which I finished with a diamante in the centres.
I hope you like my card, completely different style to yesterday's challenge card showing how versatile this grid is .
I hope you have a lovely day, keep your Brolly handy!
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra

Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteSandra-what a stunning card, so classy & elegant.
Yesterday was reasonably busy , plus we’re asking all our service users if we were to change our opening hours should they be affected, so far no problems which means we will be able to finish at 4:30 every day. My line manager is visiting the Unit again today so that will keep everyone on their toes!
We had a heavy rain shower sometime yesterday afternoon and again overnight-allgoid for the garden. We had a lovely walk in the evening mainly so hubby could get some fresh air & exercise as he’s still working from home-13 weeks now. We’re both just grateful we still have jobs as there’s a lot if uncertainty for some people.
Michele
I adore your card SANDRA I love the traditional colours
ReplyDeleteNot sleeping brilliantly at the moment but then I never really do! But can fall asleep at the drop of a hat during the day
OH is back at work today I am so nervous for him At least they already had bandit screens in place It will feel very strange him not being around I love having him at home (well most of the time!)
Neighbours and I might be doing tea on the lawn today If not I will start a cc
Have any of you been watching The Salisbury Poisonings What compelling viewing, especially in the current situation we’re in
Take care all xx
I hope they have everything in place where Alan works.
DeleteMorning Everyone
ReplyDeleteLove your CC SANDRA-so elegant.
We had the most glorious Summer's Day yesterday once the morning mist had gone.We have a misty start again so fingers crossed it may be like yesterday.
Well I had a very busy text message day yesterday.First my hairdresser sent me a message saying that she had had instructions about starting work again..As you can imaginethat was music to my ears. I cannot remember when I had my hair as long as this. Anyway I'm booked in for July 8th so that's a 'star date' on my calendar.
I then had a flurry of messages from the surgery saying that they are doing our Annual MOTs virtually. We are asked to got to Sheffield Arena drive through for our blood tests and then take our blood pressure at home and send in two readings. Will let you know what happens.
I'm hoping to get one with my CCs today and I have to order my prescription.
The CAFE is ready and waiting. The tables are set outside but the brolly bin is ready and waiting too if needed.
HUGS are on their way to you all. PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx
My hair is also quite long Janet. It doesn’t look to bad at the moment as my hair was quite short to start with. My hairdresser comes to me so I haven’t a clue when she decides to start again. Hope the bloods go ok and this will publish as it wouldn’t before.
DeleteHi Sandra & ladies
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry I forgot to wish Becca a very Happy Birthday yesterday.
Lovely Christmas card Sandra. I love the traditional colour.
I spent a lovely afternoon down at the canal. All the benches were full and people sitting on the grass. All socially distanced of course. I took my own chair to sit on. I always did anyway. Watched 2 canal boats go under the bridge. And people were even talking the canoes and kayaks out. The bridge is mechanical and we always wondered what would happen if the bridge wouldn’t go down after being used. No way out from the tea shops side of the canal. That’s where we have to park.
We had torrential rain & a thunderstorm about 6.00pm and rain about 8.00 but neither of them lasted too long.
Did you see those horrendous queues at the shops yesterday. They weren’t social distancing at the Nike shop as everyone was actually fighting to get into it. How mad are people to queue for hours to get into a shop.
Take care everyone and stay safe.
Hello, very warm here today, very muggy.
ReplyDeleteSandra very classy card today, love that ribbon.
Not much happening here, going to plant out the runner beans, hope the slugs don’t eat them all.
Had a lovely new pad of papers from Stamperia today, called house of roses. Too lovely to use, but I will , decided not to buy any more craft this spring, but just had to have this one, it was on special offer, so at least I saved some money!!!
Hope you all have a good day, Lilian
Hi everyone.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Sandra, love the bow.
Had a really long heavy downpour here early afternoon with a few rumbles of thunder, but sun out and blue sky now!
Karen, we’ve just downloaded and binge watched all three episodes of The Salisbury Poisonings. Very sad, more so due to it being true. Has anyone seen Contagion on Netflix? Strangely scarily related to Covid 😳
I hope everyone has had a good day. Hugs to all xxx
