Beautiful white Clematis

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

I didn't get chance to  create anything 'crafty' these weekend as we me made the most of the weather and spent most of the weekend in the garden, so I thought I'd share some photos of the beautiful flowers that bring me joy every time I get outside.

When we moved in the garden here had been largely neglected,  the previous occupant were just not interested in gardening of any kind, not even mowing the lawn.  Lynne & Bill who had the house built were keen gardeners, particularly Lynne who loves Roses,  we have felt that we wanted to nurture the roses that are dear to Lynne back to life, many of then were that covered in bind weed that they were bent double,  slowly they have come back to full glory, the one I shared above 'Princess Margaret ' was a gift from Bill's parents 30 years ago, we have pruned her and fed her, we have gotten rid of the Black spot that it was covered in,  it is full of buds and will bless us with beautiful big roses all summer long, every one a different shade of peachy orange,  the roses have so many layers of petals, so beautiful,  the smile on Lynne's face was worth every moment that we have put into taking care of it.  I will share the other roses as they come into flower.

The flowers that bring the most joy are the ones we have rescued, from the dead and dying area at the Garden centre, the Azalea and Alpine above were bothe rescued, a little bit of tlc and they have rewarded us with a gorgeous display of flowers.

The clematis are just a delight to look at, we have 6 different ones around the garden, the most impressive is the pretty pale pink one that has scaled the fence and the tree next to it, it is a good 25ft up the tree and climbing and is covered i  flowers.  We have 3 that we bought last year, the montana has reached a good 12ft and has an incredible display of flowers, the white one is a bonus that we discovered last year,  it had been overtaken with brambles and nettles, we cleared all of that and have been rewarded with these stunning waxy looking white flowers.

Now here is an example of using the photos as inspiration....

There are so many more colours when you look closely at these flowers than what you see initially,  which I think is helpful when colouring flowers on our cards.

Sorry that there isn't a card today,  hopefully the beautiful flowers will bring a smile to your face and maybe a little inspiration.

I hope that you have a great start to your week,

Love & hugs,

Sandra xxx

  1. Hi everyone
So many wonderful flowers and colours in your garden Sandra. I love them and the smell from the roses must be heaven. Mine hasn't started off very well but hopefully they will survive with some care and lots of watering.
We are in the city just now for OH had an eye test and now needed new glasses 🤓. I have been looking for some summer dresses but it's too much money so will look online. It's a lovely day again, I really hope that the weather is better for you today Lilian but we might have some thunder later today.
Have a good day everyone whatever you do today. Many hugs to you all.xxx

  3. Thank you for the stroll around your beautiful garden, it must be a joy every time you go outside. The colours of nature are always so beautiful. I recall colouring a little card i made, it had a rose on it, i used a photograph of a rose i had taken to try and get the colours just right.
Sorry I didn’t get in over the weekend, younger daughter moved house to Caterham Surrey on Friday, we went over to lend a hand, most of the jobs we did were in the garden, cleaning the furniture left by the previous owner etc. all in need of TLC. Every room in the house was still piled up with boxes. They had sorted out the bedrooms - well made the beds up, the rest is an ongoing project. She rang me a while ago and said “Mum this will make you laugh” Paul and i were cleaning out the built in cupboards in our bedroom and at the back of one was this bag we looked inside and it was the lady who lived there previously ashes!!! She rang the estate agent who then rang the lady’s son, who lives in Chichester he drove up straight away to collect them and was most apologetic, but added his mother would be laughing at him for leaving her behind.
Time to water the garden, take care everyone.Big hugs Brenda xxx

  4. Hi Sandra and all looking in. What a beautiful sight your garden is and some of the wonderful flowers. You and Paul have worked/are working so hard and have done wonders since you moved in xx
Brenda, I can just imagine how funny the previous owner’s mum would have found him leaving her behind 🤣xx
I went to see Pop today and for the first time he didn’t recognise me 😕 I know it’s to be expected but always sad the first time. Otherwise we had a good long chat about what needs to be put in the soil of various plants and his new car!
Have s good night. Take care. Love Sue xx
