Mixed Up Saturday

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

I hope that today finds you as well as can be, gentle hugs to those of you that are feeling under the weather xxx

Today I thought I'd share the latest IndigoBlu magazine with you all....

IndigoBlu Mixed-Media Special

Issue 8

It's a lovely issue with some nice free gifts,  a lovely set of stamps with some matching dies and 2 nice stencils.

The first feature shares some lovely projects that spotlight or highlight a specific area.  I like the clean and simple look.

Sarah Phelan has given some lovely inspiration for the free dies on this page

I have made a masterboard before and really enjoyed it, so I will be definitely having a go at this

A Masterclass on Mixed Media by Kay herself,  some of these projects are gorgeous,  I would love to sit and make one, be good to use up all the lace and bits that I have.
Janet I can imagine you enjoying doing these as well.

These are all quick to make cards made using some of the gorgeous free papers that  come with the magazine 😍

Some journal pages and scrapbook layouts in this feature.

We can't leave those pesky men folk out can we?!,  Katie has some fun Man cards.

How gorgeous are those papers!!! The quality is amazing too, there are 2 of each pattern so plenty to play with.

These lovely cards all feature the stencils, something we all have but often forget to use.  I love these cards.

Just one of the stamps in the free set is the main focus of these cards, it just shows the versatility of the set.

Now I have ink sprays but just never remember to use them partly because of the mess, the thing is that I love the effect when I do use them.

Teabag folding, paper weaving,  paper rolling, some origami flowers and a shirt fold I remember from way back when I first started crafting it was the go to for a man card  !!

If you like Kays style of crafting you'll love these projects that she has shared how to create, a little more time consuming but well worth the effort.

Finally these lovely clean and simple designs look great fun to make, great for any occasion too.

Now this magazine was £14.99 and in my opinion worth the money, the free gifts are really usable and there is so much inspiration inside the magazine.
What do you think?

I hope that you all have a lovely Saturday,

Love & hugs to all,

Sandra

A fun 3D Card

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

What a long week that was !! Paul was working away at the office 4 days this week,  which really makes the days drag!   Anyway its the weekend,  so only half day today and then we have the whole week together.

We will be spending this weekend making sure we have everything ready for the wedding next week.  I have a few suits arriving today for Paul, as his suit was a little snug over his derriere! 🤣😂

Today's card is a variation of an Easel card, it was inspired by Addinktive Designs.  I used the Delightful Daisy stamp set and matching punches to create the flowers on this card. I love how the card turned out.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Sandra xxx

Delightful Dahlias

🎈🎉Happy Birthday Sonia🎉🎈

 Good Morning Ladies,

Firstly today please join me in wishing our Sonia a Very Happy Birthday,  I hope you have an amazing day and lovely meal out this evening 😘

We had a lovely time at the hairdressers,  Shane was lovely and couldn't do enough for us,  Lucy's hair was so beautiful I had tears in my eyes,  I loved what he did with mine too.  We were there for almost 4 hours!  The time flew by, we were people watching,  the hairdressers is in Stow On The Wold, which is another very touristy Cotswold town,  this week they have Stow Fair,  when Gypsy's,  Travellers etc descend on the little market town, there were children racing in horse drawn buggies up and down the main street,  all the pubs and restaurants had shut up shop for the weekend,  so they don't get any trouble.  There were certainly some sights to behold.!! 🤣

Today's card is made using a stamp I forgot I had, Its called Delightful Dahlias,  its such  a lovely detailed stamp, I have no idea why I put it away without using it!

Its a 2 part stamp, I stamped the colour first in Polished Pink and then the detailed stamp that I stamped in black, I cut to masks and added them using the leaf stamp and Pear Pizazz to finish.

I matted onto a black strip and then mounted onto a white card base.  A simple sentiment that I punched and added a black mat to.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs

Another Distress ink/Oxide card

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

An exciting/ nervous day today, Lucy and I are off to try a new Hairdresser for colour & cut  ✂️.  We are both really nervous as its someone completely new, although it has great reviews and it was recommended to us too, so please everyone keep your fingers & toes crossed for us, otherwise I will be panic buying a hat !!  (Or a wig) !

We had a bit of a game of spot the pharmacy yesterday,  Soph had notification from her gp app to say her prescription was ready at pharmacy,  luckily our pharmacy is only about 3 miles away,  however when we got there it turns out her Pill isn't available!  The lovely chap checked for alternatives that she could have instead but the two original brand names are discontinued!  We checked a few other pharmacys but they had nothing,  so I called the surgery and Explained situation to the pharmacist and she got the nurse to prescribe her something different, which she did within the hour, so off we went again !!  I will say that our GP have this brilliant feature,  its called 'The Pod'  I went in with Soph on Friday,  they have a Blood Pressure machine that you put your arm in and it automatically does your Blood pressure and pulse, its linked straight to the computer,  then you weigh yourself,  which is also linked to the computer,  you then fill in some lifestyle questions and that's it,  the info goes through to nurse and she prescribes your medication!  It took about 8 minutes and no appointment necessary!

For today's card I used another one of my Distress Oxide and Distress ink smooshed backgrounds. I decided to use my Bold Sayings stamps, I kind of want all that background detail to be the star of the show.  I stamped the sentiment in Black ink and added clear embossing powder to make that sentiment stand out a bit more.  I sometimes find stamping on Oxide causes the black ink to go dull a bit, adding the clear embossing prevents that.

A closer look at that lovely smooshed background, those darker dots are the Distrss ink on top of the dried Oxide.  (Both Picked Raspberry)

I hope that you all have a good day,

Lilian I hope the new antibiotics have started to work and that you are starting to feel better xxx

Janet I hope that you are feeling better too xxx

Loven& hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

Another Oldie

Good Morning Ladies,

Just a quickie today,  yesterday turned out to be 'One of those days', It started off bad as I was totally on my own,  which you all know I hate.  It means a super early start to the day so that Paul knows I am safely downstairs before he leaves for work at 6.30am !  With my poor sleep pattern that hour isn't for getting up!  I try to relax in my recliner but its not that comfy.  I managed to kill a couple of hours though.

I had to call sky because we haven't had tv since Thursday evening,  Paul has tried every method of rebooting,  restarting etc over the past few days and the box will not receive signal.  I was on the phone to Sky for over 2 1/2 hours, she had me doing exactly what Paul had done with no success!  I pressed buttons i didn't no existed, she had me up and down like a sweeps brush.!! But after 2 and a half hours of pushing,  twisting and tweaking we were no further forward,  my heart was racing so hard I couldn't get my breath!  She ended up saying 'We will have to get an engineer out to you"  I said I told you thats what we needed hours ago!  The best bit is the earliest the Engineer can come is.....4th June !!!  Paul was not a happy bunny!!  That man likes his 10 o'clock news!!   He has ordered a normal cable that connecta to the original aerial,  so we can atleast get 4 channels, I hope there is a decent aerial up there !!

My craft room looks like a tornado has been through it as I had to dismantle my desk for access to the router box and Sky Q box.  Paul had to take it apart a bit, so consequently no card was made.

This card is from 13th May 2018 I believe, its quite sweet, I used an embossing folder for the background.

I hope that today will be an improvement on yesterday!

Love & Hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx

An Oldie to start the week

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

Back to normal grey skies today,  but that sunshine was lovely while it lasted.

We are all systems go with wedding planning, Becca's Boss has said they would Love Becca & Adam to have their wedding at the home in Burford, its a beautiful House & Gardens with its own chapel for the ceremony.  Lucy is in charge of the 'Pinterest board', I am waiting for the ideas, colours etc for the 'Save the Dates', the Wedding will be September 2025, so not too far off really when it comes to organising everything!

My craft room is in turmoil as Paul had to get behind my desk to get to the Gigaclear router and the Sky box, we have had no tv since Thursday evening, not that we missed much, anyway I have to call them this morning to see if we can get someone out to sort it out, so I'll have to work round the upheaval!  So I have shared a card from May 2018.

I stamped the main image twice and embossed it, i then coloured the leaves with Old Olive ink and a blender pen. The flowers i stamped and did cut and coloured with Rich Razzleberry Stampin Blends, i placed them onto the image with dimensional adhesive pads, i stamped, fie cut and placed the larger flower and butterfly, added some sparkles for the butterfly trail and added the sentiment from 'Share what you love' stamp set.
I hope you like my card.

I only used this stamp set once I think  I forgot how lovely it is!

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love to all,

Sandra

Sunday 12 May 2024

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all having an enjoyable weekend.  As you can probably guess we were in garden most of the day, Lynn next door gave me a list of all of the roses that are in our garden,  she said that she wasn't sure what ones were left as the previous people and the ones before them didn't bother with the garden at all,  Paul and I spent most of yesterday morning cutting out the dead and dying parts of the roses and untangling the mass of bind weed that was choking a few of them,  hopefully with some 'tlc' we can bring them back to their former beauty.

Karen's New Challenge projects

Karen's Description:

I found this Christine Emberson kit I bought So decided to make it There was a piece of patterned card missing and so I had to cobble the front - hence the ribbon I am awaiting a delivery of 4x4 card blanks to decorate a few and put inside.

I bought this one too !  How scary is it that it was 9 years ago!

I love the front, Christine really loved those tiny flowers, they were almost like her signature!  You would never know that there was anything missing, so great cobblingb!!! 🤣

Karen's Description:

Following on from your rainbow type card this morning I have tried Tracy Evans Snippet 71 and 72 Entirely different stamps The background has been made with some Artistro paint pens that I had not used yet I have some cheap acrylic paints (for the grandkids) and created a colour but it needed more white and blue mixed in.

Such a fun technique, your lined background is very neat. That negative stamp technique is so clever, just shading around the edge seems to really make the detail pop!

Karen thank you so much for taking part in this weeks challenge XXX

I hope that you all have a lovely Sunday,

Love & hugs to all,

Sandra
