Shades of Burgundy

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you all had a good weekend,  it certainly flew by, I felt like I spent the whole weekend in the middle of chaos but that's what comes with reorganising your cluttered craft space,  I got stuck under my desk at one point, I managed to get down there to search for a spare shelf for my craft unit door for ink pads! I was half on my side but kind of on my bum as I can't kneel, I started to panic but Paul came to my rescue!! I found a few lost articles while I was down there, including 3 more flipping ink pads!!  I got a shelf and put it in place, I then moved all my ink pads to the shelf. I step forward atleast!  Now I have to find places for everything that I had moved to rearrange the ink pad storage.  I ended perched on the edge of my chair with my Platinum behind me (as there was no room on my desk) just so I could get a card finished for today's blog post ! 🤣😂

So today's card started out with the foiled piece of card, I was trying out my Spellbinders Glimmer machine, as with all things it's a sharp learning curve and never perfect first attempt.

I was playing around with the free die that came with the Glimmer system,  it's a half of this frame above,  I attempted to line to two halves up to create a full frame.  If you look closely you can see the 'over foiling ' around the  area where the two sides meet.  So I used a die cut border and topped ot with ribbon to hide the flaws!  I then looked at the frame  saw that the aperture was almost a Hexagon,  so that would be the shape I used to create  topper for my sentiment to sit on.  I layered the main colour with cream and gold so even tied together.  I finished the sentiment label with a tiny gold flower.  It's not perfect but its ok for a first project. Makes a good one colour card for the challenge too.

I am going to continue with my reorganising today, wish me luck!! 🤣😂

I hope that you all have a fun & productive day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                xxxxxx

  1. Hi everyone
Lovely card today, the gold foiling looks stunning against the burgundy 😍
I’m working this evening, so will be crafting during the day. I didn’t get any done yesterday as housework was on the agenda, but at least that’s done.
Good luck with the reorganising, I’m still putting mine off.
Have a lovely day everyone whatever you’re doing.
Sending hugs to you all xxx

  2. Hello, still very cold here. Not done much again, cleared my table ready to start this weeks challenge, not that I know what I’m going to do ,shall have to have a browse on Pinterest.

Lovely card today, the goldwork is beautiful. The colour gives a very regal effect.

Still struggling through my antibiotics, they don’t seem to be working yet, have a couple more days left.

Hope everyone has had a good day, hugs to all Lilian.

  3. Hi ladies
Stunning card Sandra, very regal looking in these colours. Lush 😊
Had to go into town this morning. OH had eye test and I wanted some new black jeans but I'm refusing to pay money for jeans with massive of holes in them already so didn't get any 🤭
In my messy room now for my crafting I did some more mess by using the TH inks and water 😂🤗 l
I'm just saying that it is lucky I now have a door I can nearly shut 🙄
Sending hugs to you all and hoping you had a good day. Take care xxx

  4. Hello Sandra and everyone,
Lovely rich looking card today and brilliant for your first attempt, mind wasn’t that good in fact I packed the system onto a shelf and there it has remained. OK another thing for the to do list!
Had an appointment with the practice nurse this morning, she was checking my pulse rate and wasn’t happy so asked one of the GP to check me over. Well by the time I got in to see her she had already looked at my updated notes and told me to go to SDEC at the local hospital also that they were expecting me. We were at the hospital most of the day, it was dark when we returned home. I have to go back on Friday for the tests to be repeated, but at least I was allowed home. Hope your day was much easier. Hugs Brenda xxx
