A Monochrome Card today

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

Wednesday already, still sitting in a muddle as I have lost the enthusiasm for tidying my craft space, I'm pretty sure that the dreaded UTI is fully back so it's affecting my mood and energy!  Fingers crossed I can get a Phone consultation today!

Today's card was a Pinterest inspiration card, I have had the 'Painted Posies' embossing folder a while but hasn't used it, so I took a piece of white card and spritzed it with water (for a deeper emboss) and ran it through the embossing folder and cut it down to fit the inside of that die cut frame. The frame die set 'Fabulous Frames' has some lovely pieces that are just the right size.

So I used the rectangle frame in white and added black layers.  I finished the piece with black thread with the small label die from the set too.   I think its quite a nice note card for any situation or even a Sympathy card.

Brenda I hope that you weren't too exhausted yesterday after your marathon day of testing at the hospital on Monday, I find hospitals really draining mentally, the lights don't help either.  Sending hugs xxx

Janet how did you find the Needle Felting demonstration?? I have seen it done a few times and looks like it could be quite savagae on your hands!  I guess you could do the motion slowly but that would take ages,  I have to say I have seen some absolutely stunning scenery pieces and 3D animals too. It looks great but I don't think its for me.  xxx

Karen I hope you have recovered from your weekend my lovely xxx

I hope that you all have a Happy Humpday,

Love and hugs to all  of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Everyone
At last the beginning of a day when we are frost free.

I found needle felting hard on the hands. I managed to get the head/nose of a tiny teddy done but that was hard going. Most of the ladies managed a finished teddy which when complete measures around three/four inches high. Their head/arms/legs move and do look impressive. We brought the block of foam/needle and wool/instructions home so I can try and finish it but I have to say it's not a craft for me. The ladies/demonstrating brought some of their finished animals and they really a work of art.

My job this morning is to unpack my craft bag and put things away but not much more. It will be a 'hands recovery' day.

HUGS on their way to you all. Please take care and have a good day.xxxx

  4. Hi Sandra and all looking in.
This is a beautiful card, I love everything. A good all round card too which are always handy to have waiting to be needed. I’m so sorry you have still got a uti. You really need a break from the constant infection, the medication and all of the side effects that causes don’t you. I wonder if you are feeling up to a visit tomorrow or Friday but totally understand if not. Gentle hugs and wishes for at least a few hours of sleep are on their way to you my lovely xx
Sonia, great news to hear the scan went well. Now you can start thinking of all thing blue. What are you going to be called? Do you have a preference? Xx
Janet, I think I would have the same problem with my hands if I tried to needle felt. There are some lovely items but it’s not a craft for me. It’s good to have the chance to try it out though isn’t it xx
Brenda, I hope you have been able to catch up on some rest xx
Karen, have you recovered yet after the busy but wonderful time at the weekend xx
Maria, how are the new pain meds going? Xx
Lilian, have you got plans for any new plants or anything once the paving is all finished? Xx
I’m off to bed shortly. Took Pop to docs and then shopping today so nothing else done but I hope to get some crafting in tomorrow and Friday, after the ironing. Hoping you all get some sleep. Take care xx

  5. Hello Sandra and ladies,
CONGRATULATIONS Sonia, you’re going to have a grandson, that’s so exciting, at least you will know what clothes to buy.
Beautiful card Sandra, love the sharpness of monchrome cards.
I hope you have had better luck with your GP today, it’s so frustrating when you ask for help and you seem to be getting nowhere each time. I’ve been so lucky with my practice nurse and Doctors they can’t do enough to help you. Even asked was there anything else I needed before they sent me off to the hospital.
I had a very restful day yesterday, today I’ve been trying to restore some order in the craft room, but ended up sorting out different areas so it’s still an ongoing process, it could take several more days at this rate. The thing is when it’s messy I know (mostly) where everything is! But also have to admit I have ‘found’ a few projects I had forgotten I had started. Won’t get so much done tomorrow as we are getting our hair cut then popping into Asda on the way home.
Hope you have all had a good day and have managed to keep warm. Take care, hugs Brenda xxx
