Lynda's Something Floral Card

Good Morning Ladies,

Oh its Friday again, even better this week because we have a lovely long weekend, this is extra special for us as Paul always used to have to work Bank Holidays, mind you we have lots to do, so I am sure it will pass by in a flash!
Have any of you got anything nice planned? The weather is supposed to be nice I think, so fingers crossed, we may get some outside jobs done.

Today's 'Something Floral' card has been made by Our Lynda, it is in fact one of her challenge cards.
The stamp sets that Lynda has used are 'Floral Statements' and 'Amazing You' both Stampin'Up!
I would never have thought about using them together Lynda, but they really do work.
Lynda coloured her flowers and background with Distress Oxide Inks.
Those gold sequins add little hints of sparkle here and there too.
Thank you so much Lynda for sharing your lovely card with us today.

I am hoping that yesterday's glorious weather is going to continue.  I have an early start today as both of my girls have Drs appointments at 8;30am and both want me to go with them, although I know that the GP don't really like you going in, both of them lack confidence in this kind of situation so want their Mumma in with them, we'll see what happends.  Its back in our old town so I will have to leave here about 7:15.  Lucy and I will then go into town and have a browse of shops and go for a coffee, while we wait for Paul to finish at 11am, he will then bring us home.  I think tomorrow will be a long day.!!

I hope you all have a lovely day and a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend,

Love and hugs

Sandra

    Lynda-what a beautiful card, it’s so lovely.

Busy day yesterday at work then I did the Tesco shopping then phoned my Dad. We didn’t go to the hospital as we were both exhausted and because of the time it takes us, we would have missed visiting time anyway. We’re planning on going tonight but Phils in the Midlands all day so goodness knows what time he’ll get home.

  2. Morning Everyone
We are starting the day with Sunshine!! YEHHHHHHH

LYNDA- a beautiful card from you this morning. So different from your usual mixed media cards.

I'm not sure what's happening this week-end. Possibly a quiet one as Jim is on duty from Tuesday-Friday and then Monday-Wednesday next. We'll be doing our usual Saturday shopping though.

The CAFE is OPEN and all the windows and doors too inviting you in for a sit and a chat. I've put tulips on all the tables this morning so it definitely looks like Spring that is if Herman hasn't got in hehehe.

HUGS are winging their way to you all. Have a good week-end whatever you have all planned.xxxx

  3. Hi everyone.
Lynda really lovely card. Just love your stamping and the black "hello."
Off to craft group today. Don't these Fridays come around quickly. We've settled into our new venue and its a great room but its not ideal as its up a steep flight of stairs and I don't think any of us take as much craft stuff as we used to. Still its a great group of ladies and we do have a lovely 3 hours every Friday.

Its obviously not Bank Holiday over here but whatever you're all up to I hope you have a lovely time and it looks like the weather is going to be good.

Sandra, as my comment didn't get published (yes I forgot to press publish!!!!) I want to say thank you again for Tuesday and in particular my fabulous card. I was so touched to see all of the fussy cutting you had done (and done it perfectly too) as I know how much you hate doing it so that makes me treasure my card even more.
I hope Sophie and Lucy hot on ok at the docs and then you have a lovely long weekend with Paul even if you just get boring jobs done together. I will send you a pic of my hair, I am so pleased to have got my short hair back, seeing it all grey will take a few days to get used to though 😊 xx
Michele, I'm sorry that FIL is not doing so well now. You and Phil are in my thoughts X
Maria, I'm glad you have got your lovely new sofas, so much more comfortable that garden chairs 😊 X

  5. Hi Sandra and ladies
Lovely card Linda. So different from your mixed media cards. I need to have a play with my distress Oxides as I’m going to put them behind my Groovi work. I’ve decided why pay Clarity for theirs when in theory I can make my own. Well that’s the plan anyway.
Val is coming over in my head anyway, and we’re going to raid Pete’s chocolate stash that’s in our cupboard.
Brenda could you let me know the make of your polychromes please. I’m not to sure if anyone other than Faber Castell do this type of colouring pencil.
Hope the Drs appointment go went well for the girls. I assume your taking both of them as you’d put you and Lucy will have a coffee while waiting for Paul. I’m then assuming you’ll have to find a new Dr nearer to you at some point. I seem to be assuming a lot today don’t I.
Gentle hugs for all who need one today. Especially Michele and Val.

  6. Good morning Sandra & Ladies
Thank you SANDRA for showing my card this morning xx
The sun is just breaking through it's quite warm already.
We have a couple of Black Birds mail & femail they have made a nest in the bush behind the swing. Think the female has laid her eggs as yesterday she was so big & this morning she has lost her tummy & they are both flying in & out of the bush. They must be taking turns to sit on the eggs.
TESCO this morning. Then must take pictures of my Challenge cards & send them to Sandra.
Musttidy up craft room as I was playing with some of my new stamps & making some backgrounds. Yesterday I got trapped in my chair as the washing machine was spinning out & started moving out towards my chair & i couldn't Swivel the chair round either way & Terry wasn't home. I managed to get free after about half an hour of shuffling my chair round enough to be able stand & squeeze out past my table. Had to wait till Terry got home to push machine back 😂😂🤣🤣.
Well must get ready to go Tesco. Will call in later.
    Love Lynda xx

Oh Lynda I did laugh at your antics with your chair and the washing machine. Probably wasn’t funny at the times but hopefully you can laugh about it now.

Gorgeous card made by our Lynda, very different from your mixed media ones but still very lovely.
Sandra, hope the girls be alright going to the doctor and you and Paul will have a very nice weekend together.
Loved the card yesterday and will have a look at some older ones, which I never really liked anyway Lol,if I can make any of them better.
Pat, enjoy the chocolate Lol sure he won't see it missing.
Found a box of chocolate on top of the cupboards in the kitchen some time ago 2 years out of date, scream ! No idea how that happened in this house Lol
Had a outing to Wayvale and bought some flowers to plant in the border and the front pot and the borders need a digover so will get son to help over this weekend with some jobs.
Sending many hugs to you all and extras for Lilian, Michele,Val and the families xxx

  8. Hello Sandra and ladies,
I hope the doctor’s appointment went well for the girls today and you and Lucy enjoyed your shopping trip . Gosh I’ve just realised the time you will have met up with Paul by now I’ll probably be on your way home unless of course you convince him to take you both out for lunch that would be a treat. XX But I’m sure Paul has got more pressing tasks to do at home, it will also be nice for you to have him around. It’s strange isn’t it you don’t have to be in the same room and doing the same job just to know your other half is not far away it’s quite a comfort. Enjoy your weekend and hopefully the Sun will keep shining and you can get out into the fresh air and maybe do a little gardening.

LYNDA your card is beautiful, I love the colours you have used - Great thinking outside the box to mix up those stamp sets. You really are an inspiration. XX
I’m about to go off to M&S to pick up a few items, it looks as if tomorrow we will be heading down to Essex to see daughter and family, Mind you being a youngest grandson will be doing his Saturday job, middle one will possibly be going to the gym and then seeing his girlfriend and the eldest one is away at uni. He actually doing his finals think his first exam was today. (Fingers crossed 🤞 And everything else) SIL may be at work he works for TSB in London he has been doing such long days and weekends for weeks now. (Don’t think the powers that be thought the problems through.) so it could be just us . Whatever happens it will be lovely to spend time with our daughter, and To complete a conversation because when everybody is around it’s almost impossible. Ha ha

Whatever you’re doing ladies enjoy your weekend. I hope the Sun keep shining for everyone.
    Love and hugs Brenda XXX

    1. Hi Brenda
Enjoy your meet up with your daughter and family. Sounds like it’s a very busy household. Fingers crossed that your grandson does well in his exams. Olivia is taking her exams ( 16 ) over the next few weeks. Her teacher was very pleased with the soup she made for her cookery exam.

    2. Hi Pat I hope Olivia gets the results she need, Wishing her the best os luck. As well as the grandson doing his final exams at university we have two grandsons (16) doing GCSE exams, and a granddaughter doing the equivalent of A level. She is hoping to go to University at Leeds. So we have very nervous grandchildren. xxx

  9. Hi everyone,

Such a beautiful card Lynda, I love the colours and the black hello.

Catching up on some die cutting, having two tables at big events this year, one in July and one in August, = extra work I did not factor in lol. It's rather cloudy today and as Jamie & I have planned to spend all day in the garden tomorrow getting the bigger jobs done I don't feel guilty forgetting the Shhhhh! housework and playing in the craft room. Although I did pop out earlier to the Range to buy the Spellbinders brush thingy. I have so many intricate doilies dies that it feels like forever getting all the smaller pieces out. I can report I am very impressed with it and I honestly don't know why I didn't buy one earlier. Doh!

Love & hugs to everyone, enjoy your bank holiday weekend.

  10. Hi Cheryl
I don’t blame you for picking crafting over the dreaded housework. I think Sandra uses the Spellbinders thingy.
Enjoy your weekend in your little corner of Somerset.
