Pretty Triple Floral die!

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,
Lets welcome in sunny July!!
I have to keep reminding myself what day it is as I get a little confused as I am so used to meeting
up with Sue & Pat on a Wednesday, but for the past couple of weeks we have changed the day, I was a day out all week last week!
Todays card has been created using Spellbinders Triple floral die, It really is a pretty die set, the dies do all the work in this set, I used the very outer die to cut some cream card (Anna Marie designs card
300gsm), I used the inner cutting part of this size die to emboss a line and row of perforations, giving a neat border, I cut a Papermania printed paper cut to fit inside the embossed line, I did the same for the next size down die too, I finished the construction of the card buy cutting the centre of the Die set in the cream card and stamping the 'Have a Fabulous day' by Justrite onto this die cut and embossing it with Cosmic Shimmer Detail Clear Embossing powder.
I added some matching pink flat back pearls to finish the die cut layers and finished the card with a double bow of Cream Ribbon, finished with a matching pink brad.
I hope you like the card, its quite simple but very effective, I have had the die for some weeks and this is the first proper go at using it, it cuts beautifully.
I am sure the Christine Emberson will have it on her Hope Chances web site, if not she will almost definitely get it in for you.
I am so pleased that you enjoyed the Bra story yesterday, I saw it on Facebook and knew you would find it funny!
We all need a little humour in our lives, that's where you amazing friends come to life, you always manage to make me laugh at sometime during the day.
Are any of you going to Newbury Craft Show this weekend? Sue, Pat and I are going on Saturday, it would be lovely to meet up with some of you if you are going.
Well that's all from me for today,
I know that there aren't any wise words to start the day with, but would love to hear any that you may have.
Love and Hugs
Sandra

Sandra-your card is simply stunning. So pretty & feminine-beautiful.

Yesterday was hot, hot, hot here + very sunny. Today looks like it's hoing to be the same-thank goodness for climate control at work!

I'm calling at my Dads yet again this morning but only to drop off some syringes so he can give the dog his meds crushed up. He wanted me to call in & help but I just don't have the time . Doesn't stop you feeling guilty though does it??!!

Sandra your card is just stunning. Everything about it is so delicate and gentle. You have given me a starting point as this die was delivered to me a couple of days ago and I'm itching to play.

  4. Good sunny Wednesday morning Sandra and all who pop in, wow it is so hot and humid again this morning, not complaining but yesterday you could almost taste the heat. Sandra I just love this card, so up my street, must have a look for this die set.
Our next craft show which I will be able to go to is at the end of August, getting withdrawal symptoms now, I love going to them, will miss Doncaster and Event city in Manchester.
I came back to the cafe yesterday afternoon but my hands were stiff with being so hot and found it difficult to type so I went home to cool down
Just love the set up outside, all matching umbrellas, could be abroad.
Will pop back later, basket topped up,

I bit of a lazy start this morning, but I must go and attack the ironing, do like. To do it first thing. So I am off to make a start, will pop back in a while, I will need a cup of tea that's for sure. Hazel x

Think I will have a play with my new die and see what happens.
Yes we all need humour in our lives. Our stay on this planet is all too short so we must all cherish family and friends whether they are miserable, awkward or just downright thoughtless but remember God may give us our family but we choose our friends.
Hope you all remember to drink lots of water (sorry baileys is off the menu today) if it' s hot where you are. If you're still in the cold zone I have put in my request for warm Sunshine for you.

  9. Thank you Janet, couldn't have put your wise words any better. Yes life is to short to worry over the small things - those poor folk who went off on holiday, never to return are a good example. Also thank you for putting in a word ref the weather up here, was sunny early but going dull again , but at least it's warm. First lot of ironing done, on to the next. Oh Maureen soaking our feet in water sounds a good idea. Hope you have a thin dressing on those blisters when you go walking. Oh well better go back to the ironing board and get the next lot done. 4. Would believe that's me just got to the bottom of the pile and the washing on the line is dry and yes will need ironing. Have stopped a few times, little sister called in, phone has rung a few times plus I just needed to sit down. Oh and the second lot was Tammy's ironing. She who owns her own cleaning and ironing business had a pile that was the big, so I took pity on her and it's now all done, I will put it back in her house on Saturday when I go to Perth to pick Patricia up. At least she doesn't have that to face when she gets home she will have enough to do. So yes Pat yours won't be a problem either. xxx

Hi ladies, just reading about all the ironing, I actually like doing it, never feel it's a chore, my mum ( bless her) worked in a hospital laundry when she left school, she showed me how to iron and fold shirts and tops. We don't have that many shirts now, but I still like the feeling of smoothing away life's little ripples

Saba do hope things get fixed for you on the boat today and you can eat hot food and drink cold wine once more and of course sail the high seas!

After spending two hours in the bank just to switch banks to a local one(different bank) the process has now started and I won't have to be trailing on a bus when important things come up. I think we told each other our life stories that's why it took so long....but as they say it's good to talk.
See you later oh by the way I had an email from SPELLBINDERS they are bringing yet another die cutting machine out in August....THE PLATINUM...not many details about it yet.... no doubt C&C will get their money grabbing hands on it first with so many months exclusivity.

    5. Sheila, if you go on you tube and type in Spellbinders Platinum machine you will get a look at it, its quite big and not very portable, I think at first it will be a winding handle but they are making an electric adapter so that it will turn itself, they are bringing out some thicker 'steel rule' dies the same as sizzix old ones! for cutting fabrics!
it is advertised as having all steel gearing so therefore much more sturdy than the existing grand caliburs.
I am not too sure on the price but have a hunch that its going to be expensive!

    7. They keep bringing out machines for cutting fabric. Remember the slice? I've done patchwork for years, long before card making, and would never faff about with a die. We want to utilise all the fabric with no waste, so it's mainly cut with a ruler and a rotary cutter (looks like a pizza cutter, but razor sharp) Can't see why we need a machine.
For paper, I have a Joy, and don't feel I need another while it still works well.

  19. Good morning Sandra and our lovely ladies,
Sandra your card is just beautiful. I must have a look at the die, will pop over to Christine's site when I get home next week. It's the debossed edge that really interests me. Looks like it could also be used for pricking through like the triple flip card thingy die.
We have an engineer on board and looks like he has managed to fix the electrics. Yipeeee we shall be setting sail shortly. It's scorching hot here as well, so it will be factor 50 sunscreen I think.
Myra, hope you have a lovely holiday.
    Brenda littlelamb thinking of you.
Margaret hope your plaster cast is now on and you can get about a bit.
Janet, I echo your sentiment entirely, some people need to see what is really important in this world. Friends and family are what matters and being there for them through thick and thin.

  21. Good afternoon Sandra and all the coffee shop crew
Oh boy it is hot but guess what they are forecasting rain, hail and thunder possibly for us tonight so Maureen take care, I hope George is not bowling tonight.
Sandra what a truly beautiful card so very delicate and the colour is perfect, you really are a master of colour young lady and no mistake.
Well I have been seen by a really lovely consultant at the hospital who has said plaster for 6 weeks to see if it will heal but no weight bearing on it so I am still wheeling, hopping and bobbing along! The reason being he said the fracture is really bad and sometimes does not heal! I told him Oh don't you worry I am positive it will heal I promise I will be a good girl and do what you say. So the prayer mat is out, as Derek goes into hospital for surgery on 13 August so the clock is ticking. My plaster is pink and really matches todays beautiful card, the nurse putting it on offered me a choice of colour now I didn't expect that she suggested pink as she said it would match my attitude. She told me most people came in moaning as if they were on their last breath although they had very little pain, she said they all deserved black ones to match their mood! We really has a good laugh while she was putting the plaster on. She told me something I didn't know, if you wear cycling shorts you don't wear underwear as it rubs, so when she had an accident last year she was so worried they would cut her shorts off but luckily they didn't!
I do hope everyone is taking care and drinking lots of water today with the heat
I will pop in later as I am off to have a little lay down for now, call me lazy if you wish.
My iced coffee was lovely money in the pot I have thrown some hugs and cuddles over in the corner as I cannot get passed some of the tables in my wheelchair sorry.

    1. Hi Margaret,
I have everything crossed so that you heal super fast, as I know you will be worrying about Derek's upcoming surgery!
I will have a look at the Café as I usually make sure the tables are arranged so that there is good wheelchair access otherwise I wouldn't get in either!
That's why the counter is so low you see Margaret!
Now I must prepare you for six weeks of ear steaming frustration.......
firstly people will assume that as you are in a wheelchair that you are mentally disabled, not just suffering with a broken leg, the amount of times that a shop assistant has raised their voice to tell me that they will give my change to Paul to look after, like is was deaf as well, or they will talk to Paul instead of me, I just laugh now, or delight in pointing out that they are assuming that I am mentally disabled when in fact I am not!
The look on their faces is a picture!!!
The other point is that the world is not as wheelchair friendly as it likes to think it is, you sometimes end up walking miles out of your way to get access to somewhere. so be patient! I always phone ahead a check now to make sure that somewhere is wheelchair friendly!
So be prepared, my heart goes out to you as I hate to think of you struggling my lovely, get plenty of rest and spend plenty of time with that leg up!
      Sending you hugs

  25. QUICK MESSAGE.
I haven't read all the comments this afternoon yet, but I've had a text message from Myra to say that they've arrived in the Lakes, had lunch and send her love to all, Got to go, making dinner for the girls. The thunder has just arrived but it's still fine. I'll be back when dinner is finished. Oh, oh, the rain has just started. xxx

  26. Good afternoon my lovely coffee shop Angels,
Sandra flower i love todays card as it suits the eveness that my brain goes OCD about and how thoughtful of you to think on it matching Margarets beautiful stookie, just wouldn't be right if they were at odds with each other now would it? I love the embossing that it has done on the edges of the card to finish it off just perfectly. Thank you Sandra for another beautiful card tp brighten our day.Going on your bra story yesterday i am between Double Dang and Enormous which is quite large enough for me to lugg around. It's bad enough having a come leg or i'll leave you set of legs to contend with without having to where the forth rail bridge to keep the top half of me in order as well. Well what do you think i nearly did this morning when in Stirling to meet my friend? I was only lifting up new school wear for Rory going back to the school....doh talk about Homer Simpson, i'm his twin sister at the moment where my brain is concerned. It's quite strange having not to think of school uniforms for school again after all these years of it being second nature, quite lost the plot somehow today, i think it went a wander up Dumyat and forgot to take the rest of me.
NOw girls you know how some of the time we live in a wee world all of our own well, i was still in this fantasy land while Saba was telling us about going boating/shipping/yauchting whatever, the thing is i didn't realise that we had left fantasy land and where back on real land so thought it was just another one of our many daydreams until i seen Saba's picture on the boat and realised that i was the only one living in fantasy land at the moment, sorry. Saba flower i hope you are having a fantastic holiday despite all that could go wrong is at the moment for you. One thing is for sure, it is very memorable this adventure this year, i'll now go back to fantasy land and see you all when you come in again.
ANd Janet, talk about rubbing it in about the fancy pattisseries yesterday, i hope you could hear me drooling from here is Glenochil as they looking heavenly, yummmmm yum.
Margaret flower please remember that promise you made to the nice consultant as we want you fit and well again and i have plenty of 16" knitting needles if you get an itch that you can't get at very well. Remeber the house will still be there when you're not so put all unneccessary tasks to the back of your mind and enjoy crafting, much more constructive and you feel the benefit from the end product as it makes you smile. I'm sending you gentle hugs to keep you going as the other wee rascals will have you knocked over and then you would have two in stookie. Hey it would be nice to have a matching set again of pins ehmmmmm? Take things gently.
Well i am going to get the rest of my washing in the washing machine when i take out this last load and hang it on the airer because the wee bit we had of sun has disappeared again, awh well never mind it was nice for the wee bit time we had it.
    love and huggles to everyone

  30. Well, the thunder and lightening and torrential rain came, and went about 5 minutes later. It's hot and bright again. The girls have had their tea, they wanted sausage and mash dinner with onion gravy and yorkshires. In this heat!!!! But every scrap was eaten with jelly and ice cream to finish, so they are happy and waiting to go to Brownies (Zoe) and Guides (Eleanor).
Everyone seems busy today, so will go and do my ironing and catch up on everyone later.

    2. Hi Patricia, Rain or fine, he'll still enjoy his football practice.
Oh I've palpitations galore at the moment. Eleanor asked if she could walk home from our house on her own (Zoe's at Brownies), so after telling her which route to take, off she went and I phoned her dad to come to my house straight away. I watched her until she was out of sight and then Peter arrived, so I told him which way she was going and off he went to follow her at a distance!!! He said that he'd park and watch her until she was out of sight, then he'd do the same again and again until she got home. The things we do to give them a bit of independence. Life in the big city is not easy!!!

Thomas loves to go round to the Farm Yard to get Potatoes, Vegetables, eggs etc:- from the vending machine they have installed. It's along the road a wee bit, just next door really but I keep my eye peeled till I see his head over the hedge. I go to the kitchen like I have been there all the time. 4. Oh Maureen I feel for you. I have started leaving Anna in the house for the 15 mins while I go get Beth from piano. Last night she didn't want to come to the vets to pick up the cat. So let her stay, oh I was so glad to get back, she was fine and even dad said we have to trust her. She told me she was fine she had Moss to protect her, fair enough he wouldn't let anyone he didn't know in the house. But still we do over protect these days, I was seeing to looking after a 1 year old doing washing, ironing, cooking etc at the age of 13.

  31. Oh maureen I told you that you would get good weather Monday and Tuesday, I didn't say anything about today, they left this morning and are now in their apartment and the temp was 41c earlier. Not good about the thunder and lightening? It's very dark here, I know Patricia has had terrible rain.
Diana, I am so glad you are all ok!!., Didn't know if you were ill with some terrible bug.
Margaret, you will just have to close your eyes to the things that aren't getting done how you like them done, at least they will get done. I know it's hard, but your the important one.
Sandra, I had a wee laugh when you said you would check the table and chairs in the cafe ref getting Margaret's wheelchair in, if any one should be aware of the problem it's yourself. The cafe would be the one place Margaret would be able to get around very easily, We forget that! I know I did say a while ago that we would make sure you used yours at the retreat as we don't want you over doing the walking and being sore.
Well so much for my afternoon off, I had great plans to go in and do some sorting out in my spare room. That didn't happen, but I enjoyed my little sleep. It got very muggy and a had a bit of a sore head, took a pain killer and next was Harris weakening me up. Headache gone. Might just have a little go at the room later.

  32. Well I have got to the end of your comments at last.
SANDRA. your card is stunning. At first I thought it was a triple flip die then read it again and realised it wasn't. Another one for my wish list. I am hoping to go to NEWBURY on Saturday. I am hoping that Scarlett will be able to come. Whenever I am off to a craft Show she always wants to come. As this isn't very far and not very big I thought it would be a good introduction. The only problem is she has very bad eczema at the moment. She had to come home from school early today as she was very distressed. She has got a strong steroid cream to put on it for two weeks. If it should be hot still on Saturday it could distress her but if she cannot come I still plan to go. I was very surprised last night about 10pm we had a little rain but only about 5mins so I must go and water the plants shortly. Well a friend and I went to a garden centre today we hadn't been to before as it was well recommended. Well we didn't enjoy it at all. Everything was very expensive, especially the clothes. We didn't enjoy the lunch either. We had a cheese jacket potato with garnish (a few bits of lettuce). It was over cooked and the skin was hard so when one of the assistants asked if everything was ok we said no! She fetched the manager who apologised and said would we like a sandwich instead. We did which came with crisps and lettuce leaves again. We didn't buy a thing. Very unusual. We were very disappointed and will not be returning. We called at one of our favourite garden centres as we had been sent a coupon for a free patio rose as it is there 30th Anniversary. There was plenty of chose of color so I choose yellow. It's quite a big plant as well very pleased with that. Glad you are feeling better Lynda. I have replied to Margaret further up the comments. Better go and water these plants now. Usually fond the watering can too heavy but will give it a try. Be back later

    4. Thank you Maureen. I will watch the wrist but it takes so long to water the garden with something smaller. Thank you also about Scarlett. I hope it clears up soon. It is across the top of her back and at least three inches deep. I feel so sorry for her as it is making her feel miserable and she is usually a happy child. Hope Eleanor got home ok.

      Delete
    5. BRENDA- I know this might have nothing to do with Scarlett's Eczema. The fact that it across her back could it be anything to do with the Shampoo she is using. Just thinking if it was at her shoulders could be that!! xxx

    6. It could be that Patricia. Problem is I don't have much control over what her mother uses. She has got stuff for the bath and lotion for her skin but not sure if that is used.

    7. Oh that's the thing Brenda, you don't have the control, hopefully the lotion and bath stuff does get used. Don't get herself worked up over it as you will end up making yourself ill. (((((( hugs)))))) xxx

  33. Brenda, my wee grandson suffers, Tammy has got stuff called "forever aloe" hand and body wash and his skin is so much better. Plus she has started only showering him no baths. He gets himself in a right state with scratching, but as I said his skin is a lot better, I do feel for them and this heat just doesn't help. You need to take it easy doing watering. We won't need to do any as the sky looks like it's ready to open and pour with rain. Hazel x

  34. That sounds good Hazel but as I just said to Patricia I don't have much control over what is used on her but I will look for that and see what I can do. It's good to know when something works. I also have dry skin and the Dr said yesterday I could have various eczema. Hope not as it can lead to ulcers and my dad suffered badly with those and my sister has a nasty one on her leg that won't heal. That was caused by her having a mole removed that turned out to be ok but she got an infection in it after the hospital took the stitches out and now they say they haven't any appointments for a month so she cannot go back and see them. It's still very hot here and I don't like it very much. Do you want it?

    3. That would suit me fine as well. I just LOVE the heat. I don't Sun Bathe it's bad for your skin ..... ages it dramatically. I am lucky I have quite dark skin.... inherited from our dad. Hazel is "pale & interesting" inherited from our mum!! xxx

  36. This weather is weird, I don't like it one bit. Like Patricia it's dark here and raining. Brenda aloe gel is good for these sort of things, I use it for prickly heat even, and it works. Your sister needs to go to her doctors, that can't be left.

  37. Thanks Hazel I will look out for that. Yes my sister has been to the Dr and is seeing the nurse every week to have the dressing changed. It was the nurse who suggested going back to the hospital and they referred her back. The silly thing is she received a letter from the hospital telling her to phone for an appointment. She did that and you have to speak to the appointments dept. They said sorry no appointments. If it isn't better when the nurse looks at it next week she will ask her to do something about it again. I have an Aloe Vera plant on my kitchen window kedge and if I burn myself I just break a leaf off and put he gel on the burn. That's my tip for today.

Neighbours boy is 12,but he's mum still ask me to keep a lookout if they not home when he gets in from school. I had my own door key on a string around my neck ,yes around the neck at 7 so I could take the dog for a walk at lunchtime and babysat I think from the age of 10 even if it was my sister first while mum popped to the shops or down to get the laundry but I soon progressed to longer times to get some pocket money, what is that ? well wouldn't the kids of today like to know .not likely. I hope it's fine for Saturday, but the weather forecast is rain! Now I don't like rain lol. Mind you, there have been many times we've gone to the Lakes or Scotland and the weather forecast has been awful, and then it's been great. I bet it's the other way round this time ha ha. 3 sleeps.
Well it's back to an early start tomorrow for us, because Zoe wants us to go up before her mam goes to work so she can open our presents and card. I told her we'd go up tonight, but she wasn't happy about that. We are having a little family birthday tea after school, and her party is next weekend (which ties in nicely with me being away this Saturday). It's the school sports day tomorrow so I hope it's nice for it. Especially as I will be on one of the drinks stations.
Sleep well everyone, I'm still using my hot Margaret bag because it works wonders on my back. Somehow the heat is not unbearable even though we are lying on the top of the bed!!!
