Happy Birthday Lynda & Myra Card !

Happy Birthday Lynda xxxx

Good Morning Ladies,
First things first I want to wish my very special friend Lynda a very happy birthday!! She will be 41 of course + interest!!!  I wanted to share a photo of Lynda at her happiest and that will always be when she has this gorgeous little Harry in her arms!!!
I hope you have a lovely day Lynda, spent doing all the things that make you happy! lots of love
and birthday hugs xxxxxx

Myra's Pretty Card box

Myra's card to match the box.

Here we have Myra's beautiful Card and matching Box, made with such beautiful papers,
such a pretty colour combination, I hope that Myra makes it in to tell us what those pretty papers
are that she has used, I can tell you that she has used the Creative Expressions (CE) Noble Die,
Classic Adorned Squares, to cut the frame of the card, I love the flourish Myra has used under the flower but not sure what die it is.
Myra has used the (CE) Classic Fold Over Flowers, to cut some pretty felt to create those beautiful flowers, there are so pretty and although they are large they look really delicate because they are such a soft colour, they were finished with a tiny pearl in the centre,
Myra did tell me in her email that she took the photo of the card before she added the
'Happy Birthday' sentiment! So you will just have to visualise it.
For the decorative detail on the box Myra has used the (CE) Noble Collection Classic Adorned Squares once again, this time using the outer frame as the base colour and the decorative inside die as the lacy looking inner part, she has finished the centre with a matching brad.
I am sure you will agree that Myra has created a beautiful card join me in thanking her for sharing it with us all here in the Café!
I hope that you all survived the heat yesterday, its so frustrating that we have no gentle build up to it, its chilly jumper weather one day and 'Scorchio' the next, I don't mind it when I am on holiday as you have the sea breeze to cool you and you can spend the day with your swollen ankle up!
However it is better this than rain!
Love and hugs to you all,
Sandra

  1. Happy Birthday Lynda, I hope you don't mind that I have put a banner up in the cafe just for you. Have a great day.
Myra, what a beautiful card and matching box, love those papers you have used and the colours. These dies work well together.
Good morning Sandra, now as for rain? Well we had the most terrible thunderstorm here in the early hours and it's wasnt a dry one put it that way??? The rain was battering down, garden well watered. The sun is out but that's not to say it will stay out all day.
Off to work soon, maybe had a day off yesterday but I have Anna to pick up at 12, a waste of time really going in, but she has too. She is no trouble, I likely won't see her as she will have her nose in her book all afternoon. Unless mum has organised something.
I have set up, haven't put the cushions out as its early and there is a dampness in the air. That humid kind. I see some one has left strawberries in the fridge, is that so we can watch the tennis and have strawberries and cream? Later.
See you later on. Hazel x

I'm just having a coffee whilst admiring Myra's card. I love the paper and I think those pom pom flowers are gorgeous. I've just treated myself to the die and I love it.
Lynda, Happy Birthday, have a fabulous day dahling!!! That's a handsome young chap you have in your arms.
Brenda OB, Happy Biirthday to Ciara, 9 today same as Zoe. We are off up to Zoe's now with her presents and card.
I'm going into school sport day this morning so won't be back until later, I hope it stays fine here.
Hazel, just take it easy if you get the chance. We had a thunderstorm last night and it sounded like someone was throwing stones at the windows!
See you all later, be good.

  3. Good morning Sandra and the gang.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lynda and many of them. What a fantastic photo, both of you look so happy.
MYRA:- your card and box are stunning. Love, love, love, everything about them.
Pretty papers, colours and design. You
We are only 50 miles from Hazel "as the crow flies" and WOW!! oh! WOW!! we shared in the thunder storm. The whole house shook when it was overhead. The rain was amazing, the sun is not up here yet ..... it has to get over the river Tay first. We have thick fog might have difficulty seeing through that!!?
Thanks Hazel, you have done everything this morning. I also brought Strawberries in from the farm ...... I did pay for them!! There are no berry fields near this year, well they are near enough but they have Farm Cottages overlooking them, Isobel and I might be spotted!!! Never mind we will manage to get potatoes from the field over my fence when they are ready for lifting!
Will have to go and get the Bread & Milk supplies stocked up ..... Thomas and Robert were here last night. Robert for a very short time when they came to pick up Thomas, but he managed to eat, eat, eat, left clutching a roll with jam in it.
OK folks hope you all have a fantastic day, will be back later to see what you have been up to. xxx

Happy Birthday Lynda-hope you have a fantastic day.

Myra-what a stunning card + a beautiful box for it to go in. They are a real keepsake gift.

Big thunderstorm here last night with very heavy rain-hurrah! Don't need to wster the plants tonight, just the greenhouse ones. It's already very sunny so it looks like another scorcher. Just tomorrow to get through then I have a whole week off-yippee. I need to do some serious crafting as I have a list of birthdays that I need to make cards for and the dates are getting closer.

  5. Good morning all,

Happy Birthday Lynda, I wish for you to receive special birthday gifts of love, laughter, warmth and kindness today.

Myra, everything about your card and box shouts classy! Loving the colours and design, a treasure to keep.

Day 4 of my Wimbledon fortnight official holiday, my apologies if I don't get into the café every day to leave comments. It is my one luxury of the year where I get to do what I feel like before coverage starts at 11.00am. This morning will be a quick dash to the shops and back home in time for two visitors. I have seen a few great matches with Heather Watson, although I do feel the umpires aren't as quick on the ball this year. Calls are not being upheld and points have to be replayed. An unfair advantage to the opposite player.

    Love & hugs

Happy Birthday Lynda, hope you have a lovely day and get spoilt, such a lovely smiley photo of you both.
Myra your card and box are simply stunning - love the colours and the style, it makes a big difference to co ordinate the box with the card.
Well it's a little cooler this morning, had a fantastic light display last night with lots of drum rolls, don't mind storms at all. It became so humid just before the storm.
It's my craft day today so will pop in later - such a chatty lot in the cafe lately, can't keep up with the conversations, but love reading through the comments.
Have topped the basket up - till later

The Anti Gravity party sounds fabulous, I have to say though in all honesty I am so pleased that we are past all of that big party business! It costs a fortune by the time you have hired a venue, paid for food, found something decent to put in party bags ect!
I hope you have a lovely afternoon with Ciara xxx
The heat got a little too much yesterday and my ankle/ lower leg decided to swell, but I just laid on the bed with it up for an hour, that seemed to do the trick!

  9. Back in for a nice cup of tea, I think I will have toast with that yummy jam. Only got a couple of hours to myself, but saying that it's not like it will be hard work this after noon.
Now if any of you noticed our Diane is coming in very late according to the time thing on here, but she is 5 hours behind us, so she is enjoying herself with the family, in my mind some where on the east coast of Canada or America!!! So when you look in Diane enjoy every minute.
I am not working tomorrow, at long last I have got through to mum that when she is at home she doesn't need me! Next week I will have Beth on Tuesday all day, and then Thursday it will be in for 7.15 till I drop them off at pony camp for 8.30 then pick up at 5 and take home. Suites me perfectly. It's taken long enough to get this far. At least I am having a bit of time with the girls. These next two weeks, they are off on holiday then. Then it's the new girl. Right had my tea, off to box up some bits. xxx

Well we missed the thunderstorm, but looks like it may come here today. The sky is getting pretty dark now. Our dog just doesn't do well in hot weather. His coat is black, and so thick, (even though he has deposited half a ton of it on my carpets over the last couple of weeks), so he just lies with his nose in front of the fan. Perhaps we should all copy his idea when it's so hot.

Please send some of that rain across here. It's another scorcher here and the garden is looking more like a barren bowl each day. It's not doing us any good either. It's difficult just doing the needed tasks and everything else is getting left.
The forecast is for the heat to stay well into next week!!

Happy Birthday Lynda, hope you have a wonderful day. You look fabulous in your photo and Harry, well he looks edible. He really is a little sweetie.
Happy birthday Zoe, hope your granny Maureen treats you to something nice.
Happy birthday Ciara, hope your granny Brenda treats you to something nice as well.
Myra, your card and box are delightful. I am going to have to get those noble squares, your card has decided it for me. Love the felt flowers, oh dear, another die I might need. Hope you are having a lovely relaxing time in the Lakes. (Muriel I don't mean she is IN the lakes as in getting wet!)
Patricia, I am sure I must have misunderstood, sounded like you just helped yourself to free potatoes! Tut.
Sandra, you keep that ankle elevated, maybe a cold compress would help.
Margaret, sorry to hear you are not allowed to weight bear for 6 weeks. But you got a pink plaster, how fabulous is that, get it trimmed up girl, I'm thinking flat backed gems with a bit of glitter. Take care of yourself though and let the others help you.
Well ladies, we finally set sail yesterday afternoon, electrics all sorted. We needed to get a few miles behind us to get nearer to our base harbour. We had a fabulous days sailing, managing 6 knots and the breeze kept us cool. We decided to anchor somewhere and found an anchorage on the southern most tip of a tiny island called Sestrunj. Totally deserted and beautifully quiet. It was an idyllic evening, no wind, no neighbours, no noise and a clear sky with a full moon reflecting on the water. This morning have been swimming, drinking my cold coffe and lazing about. Later today we are heading back to our home harbour and then tomorrow will leaving the boat and be setting off back to Germany. We have decided to make a diversion and go and Visit Trieste in Italy for an evening on the way back. I would have preferred to spend another day at sea, but Peter wants to visit Trieste and I am sure it will be lovely.
Well best go, have still got a couple of hours of laziness before I need to start cleaning Livslang and packing up.
    Love and hugs for all

    1. Hi Saba,
Glad you got electrics sorted, your holiday has sounded totally idyllic, last night in particular, being anchored somewhere so beautifully peaceful, watching that huge moon last night reflecting on a calm sea, perfect, just perfect , I am so happy that you have had a really good holiday, just the two of you too! You still have Italy to look forward to,
Will the diversion take you far off route?
When will you arrive at your home harbour?
It's been lovely sharing your journey, thank you xx

    2. Hi Sandra,
Yes, last evening was just lovely. It was so very peaceful, that is until I decided that seeing there was nobody for literally miles around I would play Andre Bocelli CD at full whack. There is one track on it called the prayer which he sings with Celine Dione, and it has the most beautiful words. Check it out on u tube if you have never heard it.
We have about 5 hours sailing to get to our harbour where we leave the boat. It's a mosquito infested harbour so I am not looking forward to the night!! I have autan at the ready. Do you know, one night a mozzie had the nerve to bite my bottom lip. I woke up in the morning with a permanent pout to my lips. Was funny actually, now I know how I would look with Botox. Don't think I'll bother.
The trip to Trieste will take us a long way off route which is why we are setting off for home on Friday instead of Saturday. We shall find a hotel there and probably spend just half a day looking round before continuing on our journey.
Hope your ankle is less swollen my lovely.
      Love and massive hugs

Thank you for your kind words. Had trouble with access today as we had really heavy cloud which I don't think helps as it is a beautifully clear night now with that gorgeous moon. I've been taking photos but can't reall do it justice.

  18. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNDA, wishing you a great day, I hope Terry spoils you. What a lovely picture of you and Harry. He is a little cracker isn't he with all of those gorgeous curls : )
Margaret, I am sorry to be so late in wishing you a speedy recovery. Sorry to hear that you can't weight bear on the leg for six weeks though! Make sure you rest as much as possible and use a wheelchair when needed. As Sandra said you will be amazed at people's reaction to you. You may be ignored or treated as though you are deaf and dumb. When I had a foot op and had to use a chair sometimes I used to turn the tables on them. One ploy was to say loudly to whoever was pushing me " Can you give the poor lady some money as she can't see or hear me" If I am pushing someone else I have been known to either ignore the rude person or say to the person in the chair " Sorry but this person must have problems with their eyes!" That used to do the trick! I don't like rude people and don't mind making them feel bad. We have had people apologise for their rudeness/ignorance on more than one occasion. I do hope you get good treatment.
Sandra, I loved your card yesterday. Those papers are so pretty aren't they : )
    Myra, have a great holiday : )
Littlelamb, so sorry to hear of your aunty passing away. My sympathy to you.
The Platinum machine is going to be $199. Will have to check what that is in £'s later. Let's wait and see what it is like. Not holding my breath that it will be any better than any other machine though.

  21. Good afternoon my lovely coffee shop Angels,
Well 3 beautiful girls birthdays today, One a few years older than the other two but still just as bonnie in our eyes. Happy birthday lovely, lovely Lynda and of course to our two younger misses Miss Zoe and Miss Ciara, I hope you all have a wonderful day , that the weather is good for you and that you all get something you really want for your special day. Isn't it nice for Myra to make such a pretty birthday card to put on show for Lynda's birthday and in a box as well to match, spoiled you are, spoiled.
Myra, I see you have got Sues pompom die for making the pretty pompom chrysanthemums. I haven't got this die yet as the shakey hands are not too good at getting glue where it should be and not where it shouldn't.
Well today I am tying to find a brand new die that don't think I have. I bought the Charsima set of flowers with the cd roms about 6 weeks ago and didn't think to check and make sure there was 6 dies as well as 6 CDs and no there isn't and I don't think anything will be done about it now some how but I am hunting just in case I have put it in a different place from the 6cds and 5dies, can you see it...no neither can I but I will search anyway and I have another shawl to wash and pin for my friends granddaughter who is expecting at the moment as well. Well it is a flying visit today as on this iPad thingy and it is temperamental at the best of times but I will call in later as to take my wee boy to his camping course up at the Dam in Sauchie. At some point over the next few weeks they are going camping and survival training(hee hee hee) but he will enjoy it. Friday
He is going white water rafting with this lot so 10-5 quietness but my nerves are going to be shot to blazes until I see him back in one piece but I got to let go and let him do all the things that the rest can do so here goes.
See you all later, I am leaving this lot here to jump on your laps and give you big strangulating hugs
Love and crafty hugs my dear friends

    3. Good evening Lynda,
Well he was finally dropped back off there at 5:30 having been cycling , had a barbecue and learning the ins and outs of tent building along with others to make a team, he has had a great time today and so looking forward to the actual sleepover in the tent. Tomorrow if is white water rafting up at Aberfeldy which is a few hours away. I am wondering how long they are actually going to get when they arrive, but the main thing is that my boy is really looking forward to it. Isn't it wonderful for the children to go to these things and be like what we were like when we were young...had no fear.
My wee Harry is upto 7lbs1oz, that's 7.5onz since he was born17days ago so that's ok, not too much. What a length of fingers he has, they are so, so long. He has just been along to see his auld crab bit chops of a grandpa or Grumpy as he is calling himself, well I didn't like to contradict him as I think for once he hit the nail on the head with that one. The only thing is that you turn your back and his nibs has taken him out of his bouncey chair and has him on his lap. Kirsten was saying that her in laws came and took him ash a walk on Saturday and Sunday, they were away 2hours plus and she was beginning to panic. Ryan's dad we have found out does not like sharing the pram....it is his, it's a mans pram so Ryan's mum doesn't get a shot of pushing it. Nothing is too much trouble for them to do for her and she is grateful but they are there all the time. Ryan us really going crackers about it but as I tried to explain to him, his parents just want to help and be there to help especially as Kirsten had the Caesarian, and it is also they're first grandchild as well as ours, so of course they are going overboard, hopefully they will settled down into grandparent mode soon.
Going to the land of nod now and I will hopefully see you tomorrow,
      Love and crafty hugs
      Norah xx

  26. Oh I need a cup of tea and maybe a piece of cake. I am bored and nearly sitting on my hands as you should see the pile of ironing here at work. I am not doing it, but it's something I could do. The girls are off chilling out and normally I would be doing something but it's not my job any more to do these things . It's so hard. Hopefully girls dad won't be long in getting home, he was in Glasgow today, I hate seeing all that needs doing and not doing it. Forgot what it was like to be in this house and not working!!!! Think I might go make a fruit salad girls love that for pudding at least it will keep me from being bored and I don't like that word. xxx

    1. Must be very hard for you Hazel when you see things need doing and it is not your job anymore. Perhaps they will appreciate now how much you did do. Enjoy your cup of tea and cake. Sun has gone and getting windy. Have been doing some gardening but my shoulder and wrist said 'hey we have done enough' so I have come in. Anyway as it was getting windy some leaves were blowing towards my neighbours garden and I was not going to go chasing after them but it will be commented on I know. I am also going to have a cup of tea and a piece of carrot came I think. Money in pot.

What a beautiful card Myra, love the colour you have used and those Pom Pom flowers, oh dear another one to choose . Hope you are having fun in the lakes xxxx
We had a huge thunderstorm last night but it didn't clear the air, Julian tells me it's cooler though, 88 but feels like 98 with humidity! He fell off a canoe this morning into the canal but he was the one with the camera (waterproof) so it wasn't recorded! Haha.
Right ladies, must dash, I've put key lime pie and lemonade in the fridge and a jug of margarita for Muriel to try as the sun sets.

  29. Good evening folks, I really don't know where my day has gone.
I have been busy doing not a lot but it seems to have taken up my whole day!!!
Looking back I still can't see what I have done apart from going to Tesco in Blairgowrie. Had to stock up on bread & milk after the boys were here. I also got some goodies for John. He will have took after himself on Saturday while Hazel and I are with Maureen?
I have to print off some things for Isobel. She has to make a sympathy card. I think she would have liked me to make it for her. She has all the things to do it herself but does not have a clue. I am sure you have come across that yourselves at some point. I will print the toppers, backing paper, give her card for matting and tell her exactly what to do......am I being cruel???
Enjoyed that nice cuppa and piece of cake. Better move and get those things done for Isobel. Might not manage back I will go over to Isobel with all the bits. If my soft side comes out I might put the card together for her ..... aww!! well that's me. I try to be hard but it does not always work. xxx

  30. Hi Sandra and all the lovely Cafe crew,
So sorry I'm late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNDA hope you are enjoying your day and what a gorgeous photo of you and Harry...he always puts a smile on my face every time I see a photo of him. Happy Birthday Zoe and Ciara too hope you're both having a lovely day.
Myra your card and box are both exquisite, don't you just love those flowers they are one of my favourites.
It's been a strange day here weather-wise dull then showers but not a breath of air then at 6pm the sun came out and there is almost clear blue sky.
I've a little low all day that's why I haven't been around I rang Nikki as I always do on Wednesday and she was upset obviously I can't see what she was signing but one of the her support workers told me she was doing a house sign and she didn't mean Grange where she lives now anyway I told them to have a chat with her as he was a bit upset and told them to ring me back I got a phone call an hour later. She seemed a lot better but I haven't been able to stop thinking about my darling girl. It's the first tine in over 2 years she has gotten upset and asked to come home. I'm wondering if it's because she came home on Saturday and yet that's what she always did before we lost Clive....so I might ring the Project manager tomorrow to see what she thinks.
Margaret (corgi owner) I do hope you're managing okay and not in too much pain with your leg.
Saba hope you'r back on the high seas and enjoying hot coffee and chilled wine.
I'm sure I have forgotten something...oh yes my Tattered Lace scene stepper card die arrived yesterday and it cuts Anne-Marie's 300gsm pearlised card like a dream. Now ladies if there was a way I could get some of these to each of you I will glad cut 3 each for you.....oh by the way I don't want paying for the cards as it would be a way for me to be able to thank you for all the wonderful support you have given me since my dear Clive passed away....so if any of you have any ideas....I could send them to Sandra but not all of you are able to go to the retreat so I'll wait to hear any of your thoughts...I am prepared to post them to any of you lovely ladies.....individually I mean but hat is up to you.

    Love and hugs Sheila xxxx

    3. bless you Sheila, it must be so hard knowing that your beautiful girl is upset and you aren't there to give her a hug, I just can't imagine.
Was last Saturday the first time Nikki has been back home with you since you lost Clive? maybe it stirred some memories for her, is she coming to you this weekend, if so its only a couple of days, although that probably seems like forever right now.
I bet she can't wait to get back to have a spin on that chair!!!
Please promise to email me day or night if you need to.
If you want to send the die cuts to me I will gladly distribute them all for you with pleasure, I was very interested in the die, it was the cost putting me off for now, as much as I would love to order it, I have to find money to get lucy a few bits as she is off on a music residential trip with school, so that's the die budget blown for a couple of months!
kids eh??? they just drain your money away!!
So I would love a couple of the die cuts to see what they are like,
did you get the pop up box die too??
      sending you huge hugs,

    4. Sheila, sending (((((((hugs))))))) your pain of not being able to work out what's wrong with Nikki is bad enough, but not being able to just get there to sort it out is another thing. In a away I kind of know how your heart strings are being pulled. Years ago when we lived in North Germany and Gillian went to boarding school in Scotland, Patricia phoned to say Gillian was in a terrible state and she felt that we needed to get home and take her out of the school, I was beside my self with hurt and guilt. Charlie was away on excerise and I just didn't know how I could get home asp. I long drive to the ferry ports from North germany and an even longer one from the south coast to up here. Drove all night,,got on a ferry,,off and travelled all the way up. Gave Gillian hugs and and cuddles, talked to her and let her know we still were there and loved her, she was fine and went back to school. Nikki just needs to know how much you love her and miss her being at home, but she is better off where she is, she will be home each visit and you and her will have great fun on these visits. Being home last weekend just made her a bit home sick again , like she will likely have felt when she first went. It will get sorted out, her carers will get her to tell them and then you and them can help her over this blip. It's early days for you too Sheila, and yes you will feel down over the call. I just wish I could come. Give you a big ( hug) in person. Hazel x

    9. Oh Sheila, I'm so sorry you've had such a worrying day. It must be so hard for Nikki and I'm sure although she loved being home it unsettled her a bit too. Maybe in a way she still thought Daddy was at home and coming home made her realise fully that he was not there any more. It's so very hard. I 'm everyone was able to help you. I hope you will be reassured about Nikki very soon.

Knickergripping thrills and slam dunks, worthy of a finals match.
So tablets now taken to lower my blood pressure and I have 1 card to finish off before bedtime.
Patricia, I was eating Scottish strawberries and drinking Morello cherry cordial with soda water. So tasty and sweet, both of them. Mmmmmm

Well I never got out for a birthday meal with Terry & my friend,as we ended up taking Annie to the vet's she had a cough yesterday but it was getting worse today & she was really breathing heavy we was worried as she is 13 now & they saw her without an appointment,he said she has a bad heart murmur Kennel cough & blocked larynx & fluid on her lungs he gave her 3 injections Antibiotics a fluid (like water pill )& one for her heart. So £95 later we came home but have to take her back tomorrow. We didn't like to leave her & go out as would probably worry about her.She seems a lot calmer now.so fingers crossed hopefully.
Anyway I got Joanna sheen voucher from Lisa & Ian & some lovely earrings from Darren & Sam,my friend MARGARET bought me a Sue die Canadian background & 4 Tonic Verso die's Daisy,Peony,Buttercup,Roselilly. They are a little similar to striplets. The flowers can be made up separately I'm going to have a play tomorrow & I got two Sue die's from Terry & a lovely big bunch of flowers. So I didn't do bad.& we will go out for a meal next week. Have posted on way down. Hope I haven't forgotten to thank anyone for birthday wishes so will look in bit later.

I'm sorry had such trouble with Internet access today! Not helped by the fact that visitors arrived and We've out for dinner!
Thank you for lovely comments! I haven't read them yet!! I know you made them because Muriel told me so in a text!
She is a star - although she said you made lovely comments but that some people were easily pleased !! That's my Muriel!
I made this for my friend Daniela who is a bit younger than me - most people are! The papers are Anna Griffin. Ive had them ages but they just matched the CE raspberry card. The swirl was also an Anna Griffin one.
I did put a Happy Birthday banner across the bottom! The box was a first for me.
I hope everyone is ok! I will try to make comments now but if it doesn't happen - very sorry.
Weather been cooler today but better for us. Tomorrow we are promised more sunshine. Tonight we went to a lovely hotel for dinner called Holbeck Ghyll at Lake Windermere. Had a really lovely evening finished off with a delicious chocolate and mint dessert.
    Lots of love and thanks,
