Good Monday Morning,
Welcome to the start of a new week, I hope that you all had a lovely relaxing weekend. My weekend started off relaxed, yesterday went a little awry! Paul asked me to come and show him where I wanted some spreading perennials, I got my trolley and went out to help, Paul had everything set up and on hand and we started preparing to plant them, I wanted to make sure all of the pesky bind weed roots out, which became a bit of an obsession, 2 hours later we had a bucket of bind weed roots, Paul had gone off and done other jobs and left me to it.😂 I was sat on the sleepers while doing it, (the area is a large rockery filled with large stones kept in by huge sleepers at high thigh height) I was moving the stones aside and then digging the roots out, we then filled the hole with new compost and popped the new plants in! Well Ladies when I went to get up go in I couldn't, oh had I overdone it, it took me 20 minutes to get into the house, I needed help getting my leg over the door threshold, what a state I was, I made it to the sofa and was unable to move a full three hours, after which was shower and bed. I love my garden time but my body doesn't. So I feel today maybe a slow one! We have just about everything planted now thankfully!
Luckily I found the missing card from Thursday so I have that to show today.
I picked out card 194 from my Color Cube box, I picked out Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness distress oxides as they matched the best.
I embossed a piece of card with my SU fern folder and then randomly smooshed the three inks over the card and spritzed with water, blending the inks together, I set it aside to dry, I did go over a few of the ferns after it had dried to emphasise the detail.
The layer behind this coloured piece is infact Rustic Wilderness coloured card, although it looks black. I die cut some ferns from the inked layer and used them for interest behind the sentiment.
I hope that you all have a great start to this first week of June !
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra xxx
It is such a shame that you suffer after doing some gardening My SIL is the same and her physiotherapist has made her do 15 minutes at a time, take a 5 minute break and then go back to it
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely I love the greens which is a colour I rarely use
Off to Craftea in a mo
Take care everyone xx
Hi Sandra and all looking in. Where did the weekend go? Welcome to my word of losing things! I’m so glad you found this card as it is fabulous. You can almost feel the depth of the embossing and the shades of green blend beautifully, a lovely card. Sorry you had such a struggle to get into the house yesterday my lovely. I really do feel for you and hope you aren’t paying for it too much today xx
ReplyDeleteKaren, no doubt you will be taking it easy today. I hope your injury heals quickly xx
Brenda, it sounds like you had a lovely time with your family.🤞🏻that your grandson gets the job xx
Maria, glad you had a lovely time. I hope your injury don’t do too much cleaning at a time. So frustrating that we can’t do it all like we used to isn’t it! Xx
Lilian, thank you for your pretty card, such a pretty stamp xx
I am definitely feeling a lot better than I was last week. We are having lunch with some of Chris’s family today which will be good. Have a good day whatever you do. Take care. Love Sue xx
Hi, thought I’d come in early, so that I don’t forget ( as I usually do )
ReplyDeleteSorry yo ha such a painful day of gardening, hoping you are feeling better now.
So glad you managed to do this card, it’s stunning. Would never have thought to use just greens.
Have planting of pelargoniums to do today, if my leg is better. I ordered too many small plugs that were a bargain, now I have a mammoth task of planting them all. Note to self to be more restrained next year.
Hope you all have a good day, it’s very dull here. Lilian
Hi everyone.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card. Good that you found it.
Why is it that when we do something that we enjoy our bodies are in so much pain, I take plenty of painkillers but they don't do much sometimes and if I take extra, the day goes in a very cloudy state.....
We had a quick outing to Dunelm this morning. Bought new bed linen, a few little towels and a tester pot of chrome paint for the basin in downstairs loo. Will try to get a card together now before going back to cleaning the kitchen doors 🤔
Hope you have a lovely day everyone, if in pain do take it easy and don't overdo things.
Love and hugs to you all, Maria xx
Beautiful card, so pleased you found the missing Green card. The more you show us the beautiful cards you have created using the colour cube system the more i think I NEED THESE!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your body is not restricting your movements after all that work in your garden yesterday. We have a bit of a problem with bind week, it comes under the fence from the garden next door. We dig down and follow the roots back as far as we can, sometimes it goes back to the fence, we remove it as best as we can. Unfortunately the lady next door doesn’t do much to her garden.
Goodnight everyone, sleep well, love Brenda xxx
