I finally used my Metal stencil & pastes!

Good Morning Ladies,

Happy 'hump' day, how can it be the middle of the week already,  mind you Monday I was absorbed in that card all day and night, yesterday Lucy and I went to our hairdressers and then had a potter around the town (where we used to live),  got some treats from the bakery (that turned out to be a disappointment as the cakes were stale)! Lucy treated us to a delicious baguette for lunch, I had coronation chicken and salad and lucy had Chicken Mayo and salad,  they were lovely, I saved half of mine for Paul though as they were huge!  We were home by about 1.30pm, we sat and ate our lunch together and I then had to go and face the devastation in my craft room😔, I wish I could get in the habit of cleaning or putting everything away as you go along, rather than either pushing everything to one side or master the art of 'vertical' crafting which is something I'm quite good at, it's literally crafting on a pile of things that you have tried and didn't work or things you thought you might use and haven't,  it's ok until the inevitable 'avalanche ' happens!  Today my craft room looked like there had been an avalanche and a tornado passed through!  I soon had it sorted though.

Today's card was made using a Poppy Stamps Stencil, it's a Mandala shape and you could buy matching dies to cut the layers of the stencil too.  I have had some coloured pastes for longer than I care to admit and never had the jars open, they were a random assortment that Hochanda were selling at the time, I loved the soft pearl peach colour and the gorgeous green too, I used the magnetic sheet that I bought as a kit with the spreader tool too, it makes such a difference when it comes getting a smooth even coat.  I made two pieces, one in the green and one in the peach and popped them on the aga, they dried quite fast on there.  I decided to go with green as the bottom layer (almost as if to represent the leaves of a flower) and the soft peach colour on the top, I added foam pads to make it stsnd out from the background.  I finished the piece with a pearl resin flower, matted onto black and then onto a white card base, then added a simple sentiment.  It was hard to show off the pearl sheen, it looks really effective, not perfecf but not a bad first attempt.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxxx

From the tiny pegs to the sweet little flowers there is so much detail to enjoy. A real keep sake that will be treasured. I can just see your desk in my minds eye after you finished this card though! Why do most of us make so much mess? Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow my lovely xx

  3. Hi everyone
Love your pretty card today. The stencil is beautiful and I love the colours you’ve used 😊
Sounds like a nice girly day with Lucy yesterday. Shame about the cakes - what with that, and the lardy cake the other day, you’re not having much luck. Third time lucky today maybe 😉
Got my mum and dad popping round this morning, then I’m hoping to craft this afternoon
Have a good day everyone whatever you’re doing.
Sending hugs to you all xxx

Janet, hope K&N went well and you all had a fun time.
Lilian, hope your birthday dinner was real good and you had a very nice day.
I am getting better thank you but still feel very cold and tired so just sitting here on the sofa watching the TV or are on the computer/ phone playing games. We will try to go out tomorrow.
It's raining hard outside and it's windy so no problems to stay indoors today.
Have a good day everyone. Many hugs to you all 🤗 xx
