Your Challenge Cards

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and enjoying the weekend, hugs to those of you that are working or under the weather 😘

Apart from making Soup and doing a bit of baking we had s very relaxing day,  I even managed to get two lines of washing out and almost dry, it gets damp so early in the afternoon now though (even worse after clocks go back tonight), there is nothing better than line dried bedding!!  Have you seen that you can buy Softener that is supposed to make your washing smell 'line /outdoor dried' ??  I have seen it but wouldn't bother buying it. !!

No Sunday Roast today as Janet is relaxing, although I quite fancy some proper french baguette and some good cheese !!

Let's get to the reason you all popped in today.....

Your Something Old,/Something New Challenge cards....

WOW WOW WOW,  Karen  SIX incredible Challenge cards!!!! I will definitely be doing this challenge again.
Your cards are incredible Karen, I absolutely love the Aall&Create  cards, the first one, the colour sets it off, its lovely,  there is do much detail in the design,  so much to look at.  Card 2, I am holding in my hand, it really us a WOW card, so much incredible detail, the colours work so well together  too, those little cabouchons really do make a difference, they draw your eye to different parts of the card.  Card 3 & 6, these cards make me wish I was better on the computer, those little birds are both cute and quirky  (similar to Tim Holtz Crazy Birds, but much cheaper)! The card you made for Oscar & Charlie is brilliant, even down to the font, I so wish I was more technically minded.  I need a weekend retreat with you and a laptop!  Your new Snowflakes work great as an addition to the Digikit too.  Card 4:  I love that Butterfly and it works so well on your Tracy Evans inspired design,  this card would be great for next weeks challenge too (circle,)!  Card 5:  Now I haven't used this stamp set yet but your card has me really inspired,  those DO's work so well together, a great design, that sentiment works great with it too.                                Karen thank you so, so much for 6 incredible challenge cards, I am in awe of your inspiration, thanks again my lovely XXX

Sonia

Sonia's Description:

Here’s my card for this weeks challenge….

The background die is from Penny Black. The Hugs die is from Memory Box, inked and heat embossed with Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide and embossing glaze. The Christmas Roses are inked and embossed with Kitsch Flamingo too. The sentiment from The Stamp Market.

Oh Sonia, such a pretty little card, it highlights perfectly that those Christmas Rose stamps are not just for Christmas, they make the most beautiful flowers for any occasion,  You have also made me get out my Kitsch Flamingo DO again, as I just wasn't sure of the colour to start with.  That Hugs die is lovely,  a lovely font. The white on white background looks very classy too.  Another inspirational Challenge card.  Thank you so very much XXX

Lilian

Lilian's Description:

Here is my card, I Used acrylic paint, oh dear must remember in future to emboss my stamping. Spent ages with heat gun drying my stamping!

The stamps are an old set by Kay Carley, I’ve had them a few years, but forgot all about them, EKC03. I have found three other sets, so will have a go at them next week maybe

Thank you so much Lilian your card is so beautiful,  when I zoomed in because I love looking at the detail of your cards the flower looks like beautifully coloured fabric, I so wish I had sn ounce of your colouring skills. The attention to detail on your cards is incredible from the glittered edges to the little dots on the flower stem.  I can totally see why your cards take longer than mine.  Thank you so much my lovely XXX

Brenda

Brenda's Description:

I used Summer Shadows die set, as it was in my tray of not yet used dies and stamps.
Must try the stamps out next after seeing all the inspiration on Pinterest I’m champin at the bit as they say!

Brenda thank you much for such a pretty Challenge card, I love the deckle edging on the white layer, it really draws your eye in to those beautiful flowers, the colours you have chosen are so pretty,  I have overlooked this stamp and die set a few times but now I quite fancy popping them in my basket!!
Thank you so much for such a beautiful card XXX

  1. Morning Everyone
What a fantastic array of craftiness this morning and so much inspiration.
    I love all of them.

I still haven't been near my craft cupboard but I'm determined that I will spend some time crafting. I have everything crossed that we will be power cut free as hours at a time doesn't help at all.

Sorry the Sunday Roast menu is absent this week. We are having rabbit casserole cooked on top of the log burner in the old fashioned way.

HUGS are winging their way to you all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

It is a very dark wet day here It doesn’t look like it is going to stop raining either I don’t particularly like Trick or Treat but it’s a shame for any of the little ones that may pop around if it’s pouring down

  3. Wonderful cards on display ladies, well done all !
Love the card for Charlie and Oscar Karen, it is so cute. You are amazing getting so many cards made, it takes me normally a week to make one and sad I let you all down this week but hoping to do better this week x
Sonia, pretty card. Was not sure about this colour DO but might get that too as with the Speckled Egg.
Lilian, absolutely love your colouring on the card. Could you ask your cleaning lady to help with ironing ? so sad to hear your back is hurting so much.Take care.
Brenda, lovely card. Like the ripped edges of the white layering and your stamp. Hope you and john have a relaxing day.
What happened to the weather ? It's scary rain and then suddenly the sun coming out before going back in and the rain is pelting down and the wind howling. Hoping that will stop the fireworks a bit.
Have a nice day and take care. Many hugs for you and extras for anyone who need some xxx

  4. Hi everyone
Wow, what a lovely selection of cards, they’re all beautiful 😍
Karen, you’ve worked wonders with that stamped image on the first card - simple but so effective. You’ve inspired me to use it more. I love all your other cards too 😊
Lilian, I love the look of Kay Carleys stamps, and her style, but I’ve never bought any. Your card is absolutely beautiful 😊
Brenda, I love the pretty flowers and your beautiful colour combo, it’s stunning 😊
And Sandra, as always your cards are beautiful 😊
The sun is out now, but still quite breezy. Didn’t it rain this morning?! I got absolutely soaked walking from my car into work so not the best start to the day. Anyway I’m home now, so will just be having a relaxing afternoon and evening.
Hope you’re all having a good day. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  6. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. What fabulous cards you have all made this week. All so varied. It never ceases to amaze me that it is so rare for two of you to use the same stamp, die etc.
I am really missing crafting but it’s more important to be with Mum of course. I do love seeing what you all create though.
Sandra, you have been busy sorting the under stair cupboard and your desk. Well done on getting rid of so much. At least most card and papers can be recycled so you are being green too 😂 Matt’s “boozy” birthday cake sounded like it looked fantastic but a shame that he and the girls couldn’t enjoy eating it. Maybe all birthday cakes in France have lots of alcohol in them? Xx
Why do we keep so much stuff “just in case” or for the other classic reason of “one day I will use this for…..”.
Did you take any photos? I bet you didn’t think to. I know I don’t ever remember to. My desk is still looking like half of a bomb site - it’s in the middle of a sort out 😂 I really hope to get to see you in the next few days. This last week just slipped by one way and another. Take care my lovely xx
Mum is always grateful for all of your kinds wishes for her xx
Karen, a very belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY dear friend with love and hugs from Mum and I. I love all of your cards but especially the one for Oscar and Charlie. They will love “boinging” the birds won’t they xx
Maria, I loved the card you made for C’s birthday. I have never made one like this but you have made it perfectly. Love the photo of him😀 Xx
Brenda, your card is gorgeous. I love the colours you have used and the floral and edging dies. I hope you are ok xx
Janet, I’m glad you have shared your first weeks Friday cakes. They both sound delicious. I would have gone with Jim’s this week as I love raspberries in any way xx
Sonia, I love your cards, the baby shower one was great and today’s is a lovely clean and simple one that is beautiful xx
Lilian, your card is gorgeous. You always pay such attention to detail, so very clever. I hope your back isn’t as bad now xx
Lynda, thinking of you and hope you are not in too much pain xx
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
