A stamped Christmas Challenge card

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well, another week that's whizzing by, can hardly believe its Mid-week already.

I had a lovely afternoon crafting yesterday, I actually made 3 cards,  simple stamped cards, just following the inspiration in the magazine, I think it's just what I needed,  not too much to think about either.                                                                                Luckily my Creative Stamping Magazine arrived mid morning so I was itching to have a play.  I will say that something I find really frustrating  is that despite we having a very large range of Distress Oxide Colours, I NEVER seem to have the colours that they suggest, this time it asked for 'Chipped Sapphire ', Pumice Stone and Milled Lavender,  I had none of those,  so that card has been put on hold until the new colours arrive.

This was the first card I made, after stamping the cottage and trees I masked off the roof and trees and used a die to create a moon mask, I used 'Picked Raspberry ' to edge around the moon mask,  the next step was to tear some paper to create a mask to ink in some snow hills, I had to use Milled Lavender Distress Ink instead if Distress Oxide, but it worked ok.  I used Dusty Concord  Distress Oxide to ink around the edges and to add shade to the trees, cottage and around deers feet.  As a finishing touch I used a quickie glue pen to add some glitter to the snowbanks and cottage and trees. I layered my stamped piece onto a Octagonal card base.

I hope to make some more cards today, watch this space, Lol 😆

Have a lovely day Ladies ,

Sending Love and hugs to all of you ❤,

Sandra                                                                                xxxxxx

Sandra-gorgeous card, can’t wait to see what else you’ve created.
Hope you both got some sleep last night.

Busy day yesterday so I was shattered yesterday evening-didn’t manage to get into my craft room, read a book instead.

  2. Morning Everyone
I just love today's card SANDRA.The shape is beautiful and the scene is just clean and simple which I think just highlights the whole card.

Well my plan for today is to do my Tesco order for delivery on Friday; photograph my CC and perhaps get it sent off.
    We'll see what happens.

LILIAN- you asked if you could purchase LABLANCHE elsewhere other than HOCHANDA. As far as I know I don't think so.The Company is based in Germany. As to postage costs I pay a monthly fee which gives me free postage for anything I buy. That's for Royal Mail deliveries.

The CAFE is OPEN ready and waiting so pop in
HUGS are winging their way to you all.STAY SAFE AND TAKE CARE.XXXX

Taking Barney for his first puppy groom this morning 🐶 Not sure how he’ll react to it, but we have bathed him and he didn’t mind that too much, so fingers crossed.

  5. Morning ladies,

Beautiful stamping Sandra, mine is getting a lot better now I have the Tim Holtz stamping platform, I'm quite enjoying it too.

Awaiting yet another doctor's phone call back this morning regarding my follow up appt. that has not appeared yet. Receptionist cannot see if they have sent the referral to my Cardiologist either.

Almost there with this lockdown over then a quick visit to Hobbycraft for the items needed to finish my two daughters Christmas wreaths. Is it just me or has this lockdown seemed longer than the last one? Or do I just not remember?
Milly-May and Lucy's being finished today, I've decided to forgo a huge ribbon in favour of more cones, berries and baubles. Wilko's stock the metal wreath door hangars so a visit there too for a couple more next Tuesday.

Cards have taken been left on the back burner, my inspiration has all dried up.

    Love 7 hugs

  6. Hi Sandra & ladies
A lovely card today. It looks lovely without using the Oxide inks. But I must admit oxides always glitter de over the card better. I’ve to make 2 cards before Mon & Tues. one for Xander & Keith. Not to sure what I’m going to do yet as I don’t have many Groovi plates for men.
I think Keith’s brother has the same thing as Paul in his eye. He has to wear his glasses all the time which if I remember him telling me years ago helps to correct it somewhat.
Well it’s dark, miserable looking & wet out today. Good job I got plenty of walking in yesterday.
Take care & stay safe everyone.

  7. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. Love yesterday’s Groovi card, a beautiful Christmas tree and those pretty corners finish it off a treat. And today’s card is another lovely one, being able to restamp silhouette stamps to get a really good strong image is made possible and so easy using our stamping platforms isn’t it. I hope you both manage to get some crafting and work done today xx
Brenda, I had problems with commenting either last week or the week before. It is so frustrating isn’t it, especially when it happens repeatedly. I’m not sure what I did in the end to correct it so can’t help you but wishing you good luck x
Where would we be without Face time, Zoom etc. At least families can keep in touch that way, it’s not the same but better than nothing. The girls often face time and just chat away as if we were all together as usual. I think we all know that come the New Year there will have to be another full lockdown to lower the numbers that are continuing to rise again. Let’s hope the vaccine programme goes well. Maria, I agree with you that we don’t know what the long reaching effects of it are as it’s not been possible to do the usual lengthily tests before getting the go ahead. All we can do is hope for the best. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum Lilian and all in need. Take care xx

  10. Hello Sandra and ladies,
Lovely card today, love the winter scene. Understand about the colour, so often when I see a card I fancy making a copy of, I haven’t got the same colours. You have proved it not necessary to have exactly the same pads. XX
    Hope Paul is doing well.
    Love Brenda xxx
