My Second Spring Flowers Card

Good Morning Ladies,

Well yesterday just seem to disappear, I had barely said goodbye to Paul when I was saying Hello again at 9pm!
I had planned to get a few cards made in order to get ahead but that just didn't happen, I managed this one, which I finished about 10 minutes before Paul got home.
after Paul left Sophie wanted to try a new recipe for lunch, it was a Couscous based dish, the couscous had lots of spring onions, parsley and mint, lemon zest and juice, there was a seperate dressing that was made with Harissa Paste with lemon juice and a little olive oil stirred through, we gridled a block of Halloumi Cheese and arranged it over the couscous, scattered over some toasted almonds and then drizzled the sauce over.  It was absolutely delicious 😋 !
After creating that with Soph I went into my craft room, then Danielle called, which was lovely although we didn't chat as long as we usually do as she was busy with her girls. I got a bit more crafting done and decided what I was going to make and set about starting the card, the girls then left as they were off out for dinner with a friend, taking advantage of the government's new 'Half Price Meal' voucher, so I was left to feed Harley and the cats, by this time it was almost 7pm, then Matt rang, I carried on trying to finish my card while we chatted, Paul came home, then took Harley out, I said goodbye to Matt and that was that, 7 hours gone!

Todays card I made using the SU 'Jar of Love' stamp set and matching dies.  I stamped the jar directly onto my card front (for placement) the stamped another and die cut it, I stamped the stems onto the jar so that it looked like the flower stems were in the water, I then stamped all of the flowers and foliage and die cut them, I arranged the flower heads and foliage around the top of the jar, tied a bit of twine around the top of jar and tucked a die cut tag with the sentiment underneath the bow.
I added a piece of a doily under the bottom of the jar to 'ground' the jar. (an idea I saw on pinterest).
I placed the card front onto a base card made using Granny Apple Green Card.
I think it's very spring like, quite pretty too ;)-

Pat is coming over today, so hopefully I will get more crafting done, as well as chatting of course X

I hope that all of you have a lovely day, however you are spending it,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  2. Pretty card SANDRA Your lunch sounded lovely
My day really dragged! OH was at work and although we may be in different rooms at home it’s just reassuring that he’s there and I can crack on with something.... weird
After work we’re going to visit daughter and boys So something to look forward to
Well “this won’t get the baby washed” as my mum used to say I must get ready for work
    Take care all xx

  3. Hi Sandra & ladies
    Another lovely card today.
I’m not sure about your lunch yesterday that was made. I wouldn’t have the ingredients anyway to do something like that on the spur of the moment. It’s a bit dull here at the moment and hardly any wind.
I saw Doreen for about 10 mins as I’d gone up to pick up a form for the post office that she’d signed. She was sat in the link so I had a quick chat with her. She’s still in good spirits. I don’t suppose I’ll be taking her out & about this side of Christmas.
Take care & stay safe everyone.

  4. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. I love today’s pretty card and will try to remember the grounding doily as it works so well. Yesterday’s daffodil card was lovely and as always there was lots of inspirational challenge cards on Sunday. I loved all of them especially the birds in the frame me of Maria’s. I love the stamp and that beautiful frame. It’s on my wish list as I can see it being so useful for all sorts of cards. Who is it made by? Hobbycraft or another brand? Xx
Your lunch sounded delicious, except the hallumi. I have tried it several ways but it’s the texture that I don’t like. Sorry you were rushed getting today’s card finished but at least the time went quickly for you. I hope today goes quickly too as I know this shift is the worst one for you both isn’t it xx
I’ve been busy sewing a mask for Gem and some other things which I must get on with again today. It’s rather breezy here today and a lot cooler than it has been. I’m having a PJ day as we aren’t out anywhere and I have long pj bottoms on as it is rather breezy and much cooler here than it was yesterday.
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx

    1. Hi Sue, thank you. It is called Bevelled Frame and it is by Hobbycraft exclusive. I'm very happy with how it cut and embossed at the same time. xx

have fun seeing Pat today and happy crafting both of you.
It was a bit cooler to walk around our lake today and now it is pretty grey and I have put a cardi on for feel a bit chilly. We have booked today for having us tested on Friday if we have had the covid-19. We were pretty poorly earlier this year so you never know....
Think I will do some colouring in today, have some stamped and printed papers to finish off, other then that not much.
Have a nice day everyone whatever you are up to, hugs Maria xxx

  6. Hello, rather grey and a bit on the chilly side.

R went to the recycling centre this quad for almost 1.25 hours, thought it might and slowed down by now, but still very busy.

Sandra lovely card, I have that set not used it much, your lunch sounds different not my cup of tea.

Cleaners this morning so house feels nice and fresh, if a little costly.

Not much else going on, hope to do some crafting this afternoon, this weeks card hopefully. Have a good day all, Lilian

  9. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Sorry I didn’t get in yesterday, I lost count how many I started to type my comment, it kept disappearing into oblivion as I was typing. In the end I gave up and turned the power off on my iPad. Fingers crossed it works today.

Yesterday’s card was really gorgeous, loved everything about it. Today’s card is equally lovely, both cards would brighten up anyone’s day. Also tried to say what a beautiful dog Benji xx

Sandra your lunch yesterday sounds yummy. xx

This morning John asked me was there anything I wanted doing, I said he could take the nets down in the front bedrooms and I would wash them...... 9 windows later - nets washed, windows cleaned inside and out plus kitchen and utility windows, so we have had a busy day. Don’t think I will have any problem getting to sleep tonight!

I hope everyone is feeling well and staying safe, Love Brenda xxx
