Anne's 3 graces card

 Good Tuesday Morning Ladies,
I still haven't managed to unearth my new machine, I am not sure deciding to tidy and reorganise my craft room was a great idea, but my stamps were all in a box in a muddle, as were my dies.
Being in the 'reflective' mood I was I found it very therapeutic, so all the stamps were washed and returned to their sets. My dies all mounted onto magnetic sheets and popped into the new die storage folders, boy does it feel good! So once again I have created a 'positive'! I will turn around so that you can all pat me on the back! lol x
Now will you just look at this fabulous card?! I saw it and immediately thought of the image from Hazel, see the similarities!
I gave the card the title 'the three graces', although Pat is the only real drinker in our trio!
Anne has designed and created this fantastic card, the stamp is by Art Impressions, they have some hilarious stamps, I might just have to invest in a few!
Anne has stamped the image and coloured it in perfectly with alcohol pens (copics or promarkers) maybe? amazing blending Anne!
Anne has then cut the image out using the Tuscany Die by CE, you don't see these dies used as much as some of the others but they make great frames for images like this.
Anne has then matted and layered the card with colours that compliment the stamped image and mounted onto a scallop edged card.
It needs nothing else, you can just focus on the main image!
I love this card Anne, thank you so much for sharing it with all of us, it really did bring a smile to me face! xxx
Michele thank you sweetheart for taking the trouble to catalogue all of your stamps, so that we can all ask you for die cuts, you are amazing! xx
Thank you all so much for your uplifting messages of love and support, you really are the best friends a girl could wish for! xxxx
Sending love and hugs to all
Sandra

  1. Good morning Sandra and the Café Gang. Hope you are all TicketyBoo and looking forward to the day ahead. Dry here this morning, we had a beautiful day here yesterday. Washing all dried Ironed and put away. Lots of cooking, even managed some baking. Did not get round to making Margaret's Lemon Curd yet. Don't think it will get made today either. The boys are here all day. Mum & dad worked their shifts to cover being at home as much if this week as possible. Today was the one day they could not work in. John is a very Happy Bunny, of course I enjoy having then here as well.
ANNE:- your card is absolutely brilliant, sums the girls (three Graces) up perfectly. Love the colours and great design. I have never met the girls so not sure which is which!!
Not long till that will all be rectified. Yesterday there was such great excitement in here chatting about the Retreat. Not long now folks!!!
SANDRA:- glad you had a "positive" day and got great satisfaction out of what you did with your Stamps & Dies. When you sit and reflect on what you have achieved its a great feeling. Maybe today the new Die Cutting machine will be put though its paces.
Hazel, I hope you have a day that goes at a slower pace. Will you be able to sit and make something today???
Everything set up and looking good, again lots of goodies in the fridge and cooler cabinet. Off to make some Tea & Toast .... Saba will you be joining me today?? I have put a big mug out for your coffee, I hear the Plumber is calling.
(((((hugs))))) in the basket by they door as usual. See you all later. xxx

I actually have room to use it properly now, so watch this space!!
I bet your home smelt delicious yesterday, but doubt there will be left by the time those darling grandsons have visited!
      Have a fun day,

  2. Morning Ladies

Anne-love your card! The image is great & it's coloured in perfectly.

Sandra- sounds like you had a busy but nice day sorting things out in your craft toom. You've helped me decide to do the same in Saturday- I was thinking of going to a craft demonstration (Crafters Companion) but it would be better use of my time if I spent the day in my craft room. You never know- I might start another list!

Quick visit as off to get ready for work, will call in later.

  3. Good morning ladies,
My word it's dark still outside, but we had a lovely dry day yesterday, got the painting all done, everything is ready for the carpet fitters.
Went upstairs after John had gone to darts match, to watch Phill Martin, saw most of it and guess what, yes , fell asleep.
Anne I must say I love the stamp image you have used on your card and the die is beautiful, not seen this one, must Google.
Sandra, you sound as if you had a good day yesterday, did you find any forgotten about items when you were tidying. I had a quick tidy up when we were clearing up, if the carpet fitters saw the floor in my craft room I would have been talked about. I have cushion floor down in there so it only takes a minute to clear up thankfully.
Saba, you are so busy - a plumber today - glad you didn't gave much mess this time.
I'll pop back later, I'm going to the Range this afternoon to see if they've any
more dies in, I'm really pleased with the ones I bought on Saturday.
All the talk of the retreat is getting me excited too. Patricia I think you are right, another is possibly going to be requested next year ( oo that sounds a long way off but it's not really)
I've topped the basket up as usual,
    Take care everyone

    1. Morning Jean, wow you sound like you have achieved loads in your home this past couple of day!
Isn't it funny how we worry about what total strangers think about our homes!
I bet they would have barely noticed! But we can't take that risk can we??
That's why I could never have a cleaner, as I would have to go and give the place a good deep clean before they came! Then I might as well have just paid myself, it would change my wage currency to 'Dies', so Hoovering and polishing lounge would equal 1 decent sized die, etc we should create ourselves a brand new currency, Dies & Embossing folders! What do you all think?
Try and have a less hectic day today!
      Love and hugs

    2. Jean, I do wish you would stop cleaning!!!! George is at the bungalow painting while Peter is tiling the bathroom. When I mentioned painting here for Christmas, he just looked at me and said "what for?". I must admit that it's only the kitchen which could do with a lick of paint. Cushion floor in the craft room sounds a good idea, my carpet is stained with ink pads (from when I've dropped them) and oil off the GC. Sometimes I put the GC on the floor whilst I'm doing something else on the desk, I don't know why - it would be just as easy to put it back on its shelf!!!! xxxx

    3. Sandra I love your train of thought being paid in dies and folders - sounds like heaven to me. Once the carpet is down, a quick hoover and then im not doing anything else - going shopping this afternoon,
      Take care xxx
Maureen My pink Calibur leaked oil and stained my cardstock down the edges, John said he will take it apart and 'tinker' cos I bought the Teal one when it was on offer at C&C few weeks ago.
Im jealous of Sandra to be honest.

    6. Oh Maria! Isn't it funny how some expressions seem silly after its pointed out! Cushionfloor is a brand name a bit like linoleum used to be. It's a vinyl floor covering but it's supposed to be soft underfoot so it's called cushionfloor! No - you aren't walking across a sea of cushions!! Imagine George spelling the gravy on that !! Xxx

  4. Good Morning Sandra and friends, sorry did not get back in yesterday, had ironing then my friend from Oxford phoned at 10.30pm, the care company that looks after her, sent her a letter threatening the debt collectors, because she hadn't paid her bill (which she had ). What a way to treat a lovely lady who will be 90 in a week.
Hope every body has a good day, its beautiful here at the moment, Sandra hope
    the tidying goes well
Anne I think you're card is fabulous, just right for the ladies going to the retreat if last nights post are anything to go by.

    1. Oh my goodness Lillian I hope she gets it sorted out - what a shock for her. She sounds like a very with it 90 year old and able to fight her own battles which is good. Julian's great gran was like that, she wrote a letter to the company decorating the nursing home she lived in tearing them off a strip for leaving such a mess as they worked so people could trip up. The matron was so impressed at her fighting spirit she kept a copy of it - she was 98 at the time! Have a good day xxxx

    3. Hi Lillian. How disgusting. Your poor friend is not the first to be treated in this way either, there have been several cases round the Oxford area. I do hope she has got it sorted out. X

  5. Good morning. Sandra and ladies. Jean you are right it's dark out there, at least there's not the frost they said we would have here.
Anne, you have made the perfect card for the "Three Graces". I know it was for Sandra, but seeing how she is one of them its fantastic, now I see Sandra has let it be known she doesn't drink, so she must be one of the ones with red juice in her glass, that will be Cranberry then?? I think the Middle one is Pat she likes a glass of White! So now is Sue's red wine or is she on the Cranberry too???
Looking forward to meeting Anne next week at Glasgow, I just hope they have a hall open for having your lunch, as that's where we are meeting.
Now ladies do you think I am going to get time to do something? Answer I don't think so! I have to take my niece shopping this morning, mum and dad and siblings home on Thursday, so she wants to get everything in so mum doesn't
have to go out on Friday - how thoughtful is that seeing how she is just 16?. She has planned to cook 2 chickens ( 7 of them) make a big salad and she will put the rice cooker on too. She says" if they feel like eating it's not heavy and if not it will do FRIDAY". I am proud of them , these two have mum at home all the time she doesn't work so to have managed for just short of a month is brilliant, they have got up for school, kept the house spotless and the washing and ironing all done. I think mum might regret going and letting them stay, as they have grown up and got so confident. I will have to do the 40 minute round trip going getting her and then home plus going the 28 miles or so to the supermarket, So I will be away a while, before that I have the normal house things, I found out yesterday that our son and DIL have finally got a house after a year of living in a rented flat after selling their house, I bought lovely long photo frames this time last year for the two grand daughters for their new rooms, so today I need to go find them? Put away for safe keeping that safe I have forgotten where? So that will causes me to go pulling out places. You get the picture??? Oh I'd better get a move on, I will have my tea and some toast, then get on. Will be in at some point. Xxx

Their are 5 of them 8-18, she had the oldest at 31 had she started at 20 there would have at least another 5. Even Hannah was saying that today. They have been away in Malaysia visiting dads relatives and the 3 younger ones have been spoilt rotten. Yet Hannah said she still is glad she didn't go, and the hardest thing will be sharing the bedroom again. She was away to give mum and dads bedroom a good Hoover and dust and make up the bed again. Then tomorrow it's the downstairs her and Shaun will pull everything out? Tell me what 16 & 18 year old would even think of doing that in their own rooms these days!!! So I hope on hope they will be brought home and great present each. I don't do things like that but those two deserve to get. xxx

I'm full of cold this morning - thanks Julian! So may just have a lazy day - if that's possible. He's gone to work today but no doubt he will be home this afternoon if the air con gets on his nerves! The sun is out here again but it feels a bit chilly so hopefully I can get the washing done again today. We were chatting to Emma last night and she fell over on Friday ( she's turning into me!) - one of her friends fell down some stairs and grabbed her as she went so she fell too! Face time is great - she showed us the huge bruise on her bottom ( lovely!) and finished it with ' mum it's the same purple as my frying pan!' She didn't hurt herself more than the bruise which is a relief. Just her pride!.
Sandra well done with your tidying up, I'm impressed! I keep looking at the study but it's such a mess it's a nightmare! We were looking at storage units at the show on Saturday though so if I made a real effort that might become a reality but it's going to take both of us to achieve that really. Perhaps a wet weekend might help!

Sandra, I am so proud of you, it is wonderful to see you recognising your positive actions, and I can't wait to see your organised stamps and dies and your Big Shot tomorrow. You must treat yourself to a day of cutting and embossing after a your hard work.
Anne, you have done a great job on this card. The colouring looks perfect and I love the ladies. I am not a drinker now due to some of the meds I am on but I did my bit at supporting the red wine industry years ago though : )
I have the house to myself as Chris is looking after Christopher at RJ and Gemma's. I have lots of little bits and bobs to do today, I have a list of things to do when I have a moment and now it needs attending to. I don't mind doing the jobs on it as they are all quick to do and ticking them off gives me great pleasure. I just wish the big jobs would be so easily finished!

I've been answering all the comments on the way down, but for some reason it wouldn't let me post under Saba's comment, probably thought we had talked enough!!! I wanted to say that you probably slept in as I had bored you to death!!!
Anne, what can I say that the others haven't already said. I love this stamp and the colouring is fab. I can see a likeness to a few on this blog, but they shall remain nameless as I have no wish to name and shame them ha ha. Of course, as others have said, it could be non-alcoholic drinks in the glasses, in which case it would suit our 3 Graces down to the ground.
Sandra, well done, you have channelled all your efforts into sorting out your room, and it sounds as though you have done a really good job. Now get yourself up here and do the same for me!!!! lol, Enjoy using the Big Shot. By the way, how is your hip doing?
I am going into town this morning when I finish this post, and then will be back for lunch and maybe get a few birthday cards done.

  15. Good morning my little coffee shop cherubs,
Funny Sandra as that was the image that popped into my mind when this cracker opened up and before i scrolled down and i just thought of you 3 having a giggle and natter with something in hand whether it be wine, baileys or just plain coffee or tea. Anne flower, i love it and it fair cheered me up today. I love how you have coloured it in and the colours of card that you have used makes the focal point stand out and not merge into the background and be lost, although you have matched the background blue lovely with the ladies top on the left. I think if i was on one of those stools with a glass of wine, me, the wine and the stool would be lying in a heap on the floor somehow. I know trying to keep upright from drinking that glass of champagne was proving to be an art all on it's own at the wedding, lol. Thank you Anne for giving us such a giggle with your beautiful card and it's exquisite colouring in as your attention to detail in the shades and tones is wonderful and so accurate. Makes me wonder on seeing all the skills that are in our little happy bunch, just how many of us would have taken the career path we took instead of what we were good at back at the start of our working lives if we had had the opportunities that the children have nowadays, i know i wouldn't have been in hairdressing.
Well another exciting day in the house for me, oh goody......not. It's obvious that my boys friends aren't up out of their beds yet as there is no shouting at the xbox going on up my stairs. Why is it they can't just speak, they have to yell at everybody and everything? It's a bit nippy outside being only 2 degrees at the moment but the sun is shining so hopefully it should warm up. I was watching Phil Martin last night on Hochanda and the bundle that they are putting out as such a fantastic saving, well it's not. The Spellbinders die set is in Icon at under £10 and they are saying it's £27 worth normally, its made me just look at things they are selling and seeing if i can get them cheaper else where first. I will say that i do like his style and finishing as he always turns out a lovely card even if his bows are normally upside down, but that is what he perfers but like him they are always immaculate ( a waste of a handsome lovely man) but so was Rock Hudson. Oh well now that i have left the real world for the moment(but i did like Rock Hudson, he was so handsome) i will go and sit in the corner and continue with my dreams. Please can i have a latte today but i'm goign to keep off the cakes as not good for the waistline.

  16. Morning Sandra and friends,
I have been trying to comment on the way down but for some reason the IPad won't publish, so I have been making notes about everyone's comments.
Anne your card is lovely, like the idea of the three graces, even if they aren't drinkers.
Patricia I hope you have some of your baking left after the boys have gone, I think probably not.
Sandra good luck with your shotting later, that made me laugh.
Lillian how awful for your friend having that letter sent, especially at her age. Hope she gets it sorted out.
Hazel, I have done the same as you, put so,etching away in a safe place the couldn't remember where, good luck in finding it.
Diane, hope Emma's bruise is not too sore, girls do the most stupid thing when they are together, sometimes you are better not knowing what they get up to.
    Ignorance is bliss!
Just housework for me today, then some crafting later, nothing exciting in the Watson household today.
Will pop back later, meantime take care everyone.xxx

I hope Anne is having a lovely time in Spain and that the weather is still good.
Well, today is a sorting out sort of day! I'm going to try and not get sidetracked! I'm the world's worst for that although Saba said she did it too!
Don't worry I don't do it when I driving - just when cleaning or tidying up!
For example - was just wiping round the kitchen yesterday - looked at the cooker hood and before you knew it it was in bits and some of those in the dishwasher! I had no intention of doing that! It's lovel and shiny again though. It wasn't filthy before - honestly!
I've got a load of whites out! Coloureds next - guess that means ironing after that! It's such fun living life in the fast lane! Ha ha !!

  20. Good afternoon Sandra and all the crafty crew
Sorry to be late again! I have been busy all morning and not had a minute, Washing all out in the lovely sunshine, taken our grandson to school then had to get some shopping. After a quick coffee some visitors arrived and they have only just left.
Thank you so much to those of you who left such lovely messages yesterday about my friend who was taken ill, I am pleased to report she was discharged late yesterday with more drugs to take and today is feeling a little better. I popped in last night and she was telling me the hospital were livid with the GP practice and had been in touch to register a complaint. She had rung the surgery early yesterday to ask for a GP and was told no but a telephone appointment would be arranged TWO HOURS later even though she had stressed she was having difficulty breathing! Luckily she then rang me. She has now been told by the hospital in future do not even bother ringing the GP it must be 999 immediately. The infection she has is caused by the flu vac she had, the same thing happened last year too, apparently her white cells cannot cope with the vaccine, needless to say she has decided to have no more. I popped in just before lunch and she is starting to look better but for once is taking things easy thank goodness and is awaiting a visit from the GP organised by the hospital.
Anne such a lovely cheery card that would bring a smile to any ones face the colouring is super and so like the three graces too!
Hazel are you on super power today do ensure you get a rest sometime today please. I really must congratulate your two young people they have coped wonderfully well so sensible and organised they would put some adults to shame, well done them.
I do hope two boys are enjoying their time with their Grandpa and Granny is feeding them!
Maureen I looked out for you on the local news last night when they were showing the ruby world cup players at Newcastle, where were you hiding?
Sandra so pleased you are feeling more bright eyed and bushy tailed keep up the good work.
Michele thank you for your very organised list, I do hope no one is in a hurry for mine, sorry but they will be disappointed I'm afraid.
It is nearly school time so must get organised, I will try and call in later take care and enjoy your day everyone.

    1. Margaret, I'm so pleased the hospital felt your friend was well enough to go home. I hope when her GP visits she has a full apology for them not responding immediately. Even to have told her to ring 999 would have been more help, than being told she would be called back in 2 hours. Thank goodness she has a good neighbour like you who she could call on. You dread to think what state she would have been in if you had not been at home. Lol xxx

  21. Hello Sandra and everyone,
Been out most of the morning, I had a dental appointment. Would you believe last night when I was eating my dinner at big filling came out, had I not had my appointment already booked I would've been on the phone first thing begging to be seen, anyway that's all sorted now. Then did a bit of shopping and by the time I got home it was time for lunch. After that picked up the iPad and have been trying to catch up with you all, before I add my comments. - I didn't make any notes so will add them later.
Anne, I love your card, it is so appropriate, (yes the three graces come to mind - sorry girls!) Your colouring is fantastic, I would love to sit and take tips from you, love your shading, and the way you've added depth by that little grey outline. I am really impressed.
Sandra, sounds like yesterday was a good day for you. It's a lovely feeling of achievement to get things sorted. Then as crafters we start another project project and what happens - mess, mess, mess. Or am I only talking about my craft room?
I think I must away to my craft room, guess what? It's in a mess! But I have a few other important task to do before it gets sorted, so will just have to ignore the mess for now.

Myra, you shy??? I do wonder! But I know what you mean, I am like that I am all for it, then panic at the last few days. Yet I had to go with Lesley and the girls to big world pain meetings and was introduced to all these delegates from all over the world, Lesley always like to introduce her girls her fellow researchers etc and always introduced me as " oh please let me introduce you to Hazel, if she wasn't there to help me I would never get any work done or make it to these things". I always admired her for it as a lot would have said " this is my girls nanny" But going by all the lovely ladies I have met so far I am fine about it now.
Sheila, I am glad yesterday went ok, those lovely memories will always be there, just open the door to them and go in.

    Just a quickie.
My plumber has still not arrived and I am feeling very cross indeed. Not only cross, I'm flipping freezing. As well as looking at a leaky tap in the kitchen (cleared everything out from under the sink) a slight problem with the shower (cleaned the bathroom) he is going to service the gas fire so I haven't had it on all day - didn't want him to burn himself. I am going to turn it on in a few minutes, I'll give him until 6pm and if he comes after that he can burn his blooming fingers for all I care. I'm wearing two jumpers and a cardigan. Might just run round the flat a few times and see if it warms me up.

Goodness! where do they get the energy?? John Jnr drove to and from an "all day meeting" which was half way across the county. Gets home and off with his boys to "football training" ....!!!
Those boys can't half eat. There is more meat on a Butchers pencil than there is on our Robert but Man! Oh! Man! he has eaten more today than I have or could have. Thomas was not quite so bad but still ate lots.
I am off to have a shower put my PJs on. I really don't need anything to eat, once I am showered I will have a cuppa and put my feet up. xxx

    2. Patricia I have just done exactly the same. I have a Margaret bag at my back and the world looks rosy. I made some flowers from the CE snow paper today and they are so pretty. I wasn't keen on that paper when I made a poinsettia but am starting to like it now.
      Enjoy your cuppa. Xxxx

  30. Well we have had the most wonderful sunny day today sorry if you did not, I got all the washing dried, ironed and put away, I do so love the smell of washing dried out of doors.
My friend has had he visit by the GP who after hearing what the receptionist had said was non too happy and was going to be speaking to her. She has to see the GP next week and has been told the GP will decide if she goes to Australia, so that decision is now out of her hands. In the mean time she has to rest and keep warm and of course take all her medication, for which she needs two glasses of water! I am both pleased and relieved the doctor is going to make the decision as to if she is fit to fly.
Hazel have you found your hidden things? If it is of any consolation I do that too, what annoys me is when I put something somewhere I tell myself I will know exactly where it is when needed!
    Have a lovely evening everyone.

    1. Margaret so glad your friend is improving. I hope she will be fit enough to fly. We have had a sunny day here too but my washing isn't much drier than when I put it out this morning. I shall fetch it in before I go to bed ( it's on one of those drying things) and it will air off overnight.

  34. Well I have settled down now for the evening. I am all snugly warm. I have turned on the gas heater and am sitting about 6 inches away from it.(Sorry Maria). We don't have central heating, just the gas fire in the dining room and what's called a Kachelofen in the sitting room - it's a sort of tiled structure which you can burn wood in. Otherwise our flat is perishing. I have been known to take a hot water bottle with me to the loo in winter, and I am not telling porkies.
I'm going to pop off and watch Holby now but will be back later. It's such a nuisance having to watch it on the I pad.
    See you later

    1. That reminds me of my Mother in Law's flat. I used to sit as long as I could then Roger Bannister would have been proud of me. I would do the 4 minute mile to their loo, and when I washed my hands the water was absolutely freezing. xxxx

  35. SABA, I think you need to get the thermals out and start wearing, we don't want you Ill. I take it he didn't turn up? How do you manage to get the wood up those stairs for your Kachelofen? If it's like the one at the ski lodge we ran, it was huge and took a lot of wood. I hope you don't have to carry it? xxx

  37. Helloooooooooo,
Well I've messed about in my little room and managed one tiny card. No cutting, just stamped and it took about 2 hours. WHAT is the matter with me at the moment, I don't seem to be able to do any craft.
I also watched, well listened really as I was trying to craft, the new series called "River". Did anyone watch it. I quite enjoyed it. That Scandanavian chap from Mamma Mia was in it, and the daughter of Derek Jacobi in Last Tango in Halifax. Honestly, I'm hopeless, it would be so good if I knew their names!!
I've been pulling more stuff out for the Retreat and I have decided to hire a Removal Company to take it ha ha. There is no way I could possible carry it all, and my clothes and shoes. Not that I'm taking many clothes but I need a case just for my red silk bloomers in case we feel like a balloon trip!!! ha ha.
Saba can do the navigating, it should be good.
I'm away to see what George is doing, he is very quiet and hasn't gone upstairs yet.
Oops, spoke too soon, he's just come through to the dining room (I have the laptop in there at the moment) to say that he's away to heat my Margaret bags.
So I'll say, Goodnight, God Bless, Sweet Dreams and love and prayers to you all.
See you in the morning, please keep the noise down, I'm tired and I want to go to bed!!!
Muriel xxxx 17 days and counting.

  38. Just stopped by to say night, night. I emailed almost everyone with my die lists earlier - if I missed you out and you would like a copy. Just let me know as I may not have copied (or not have not got ) your email address correctly. I was trying to copy addresses as our daughter was talking to me on the phone. She was driving from East End of London going home to Essex. Oh yes! Her mobile is hands free!
