A touch of class

 Good Morning,
Sandra is unwell today, but the 'show must go on'!
This card has been made using Polar White Sparkle Texture Paste, that has been spread over
the ''A touch of Class'' Mask from the 'That Special Touch' Brand.
The centre of the Creative Expressions 'Heraldic Square' Die fits perfectly in the centre of this mask,
it was cut in white with a Navy mat that was covered with a piece of Sticky sheet and Iced Snow was applied, for a bit of sparkle (so I am told).
This was then matted and layered onto alternate Navy and white Card and finished with a few Pearls.
the overall size of the card is about 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches.
Hope you all have a good day,
Paul

  1. Good morning PAUL, your a star keeping things going.
SANDRA:- hope you improve as the day goes on. Pity you are so far south, you could have kept Hazel company she's not so good today either. Please get better soon we need you both TicketyBoo for the Retreat, it's only 2 weeks away ladies!!
Hazel was to take Shaun and Hannah (nephew & niece) to the Airport to meet their mum, dad and siblings today, they coming back from a months holiday. They will just wait in their house, prepare a meal and bite their nails!! till they all arrive. Charlie did offer to do the run but they said they would be fine just waiting at home.
Absolutely LOVE today's card, I have not got round to using the Texture Paste. Looks like I might have to have a go at that, I really like the effect.
Nothing much on the cards for John & I today. I might pop over to see Hazel, not that she needs me to do anything. Charlie is a great manager he will have everything under control. I do need a few basic supplies that could be bought at Tescos near Hazel's.
Everything set up for the day, I brought some fresh flowers for the tables.
Will take my Tea & Toast over to the corner and do some people watching and decide what I should do today.
(((((hugs))))) in the basket actually I have filled 2 baskets sounds like they might be needed today. See you all later. xxx

  2. Morning Paul & Ladies

A huge Thanks to Paul for posting this card-it's a really lovely card.

Sandra-get well soon & take care. As Patricia says, you need to be well for the retreat.

Hopefully today won't be quite so crazy busy at work but I always think that! Then after work I'm calling for the donated craft stash-only 1 bag my friend informed me. It's still lovely to get anything-can't wait to see what's in there.

I need to start a couple of birthday cards so might stay in the craft room this evening.

  4. Good morning Sandra and ladies. Well it's not a good one here can't see very far - thick damp fog, which isn't doing my back any good. It's ok but not up to sitting or standing for long. So I will keep taking the pills and of coarse I will be asleep a bit the pills can do that. Thank goodness it's next week we go to meet Anne. No I will be good and do as I am told or the boss won't be happy then again she has to get better to.
Sandra, your card is stunning, oh the thought of that messy paste set my teeth on edge, but I do love seeing it used.
I won't go and sit in the window seat it's to cold and I won't get comfy. I will take my tea and toast as a take away this morning. Xxx

  6. Hi Paul Sandra and all the lovely coffee shop ladies
Sandra so sorry to hear you are poorly, like Hazel, stay warm and snug and keep taking the tablets and hopefully you will be better soon. Your card is a real stunner, love the mask you have used, it really works well with the heraldic square. I haven't used this die on a card yet, but isn't it beautiful. Thank you for sharing and to Paul for the lovely description xxxxxxx
It's a bit gloomy this morning but it isn't raining yet which is good. I'm meeting friends for lunch today at a garden centre so no doubt lunch will finish about 4pm! Hopefully they will still have a knitted tea cosy book in there, I saw it the other day and thought it was wonderful but didn't buy it - silly me. I told Jean about it and she said they are all the rage at the moment so I'm going to buy it and have some fun. My next door neighbour is knitting hats for innocent smoothie bottles for age concern - the wi have been asked to help and they raise 25p a bottle for them. She's having a great time. I've got card club tonight, my cousin will have a wonderful time teasing me for going a day early! It will be a long night! Nose is dry this morning at the moment but I fear it will start running when I'm up and about. I don't sound like Darth Vader so much today! Julian found the culprit who gave it to him - he's been fired! No just joking, the guy left yesterday at the end of his contract so it was his leaving gift! He was a good engineer but didn't want to stay as the work wasn't to his taste! How lucky to be choosy Julian is really struggling to find qualified engineers who can get on and do things without having their hand held. They are snowed under but it's quicker to do it themselves than get someone who isn't up to scratch then do it all again themselves - the contracts they've got are too important to b####r up! As he says! Can I ask a question ladies - roughly what time are people arriving on the Friday? I looks like my travel plans may have to change so I'm looking at the train instead - I can get a mega us to somewhere in Birmingham at 6 in the morning! Bit early me thinks! Are you doing international or central train station ladies? If I can co ordinate times we could all share a taxi. If it's easier to chat, email me and I will pick it up later.
Right I must go and get a move on - the sunis starting to poke it's head out - yeah. See you later xxxxx

After my outing yesterday to Aqua(pool), Asda and Ikea Muriel I had a sit down but not for long. My neighbour needed someone to look after daughter and new puppy after school so I was there to quite late, woke up this morning with stiff neck and sore shoulders so no weights in the pool next time for me.
Home alone already so a few bits to do and then hopefully some cards to crack on with. It's grey and rather dull outside so will pop some music on and start the day, after the toast and tea. Love and hugs Maria xxx

  15. A BIG TIP!! Especially for coffee drinkers (crafters only)..... now I'm not a big coffee drinker so I don't use coffee beans just the jars of coffee....do you remember when Douwe Egberts brought their coffee out in designer jars (designed by Orla Keily with flowers on them, Limited Edition)...well I decided to try their coffee at the time just because I loved the new jars and thankfully it turned out I loved the coffee too..never thought I would stray away from my favourite Nescafe. The jar (when empty of course) is especially handy as we all know for pens, pokey tools etc. Their lids are acrylic not the screw on type and I found out that it's great to use as a small stamping block as it measures just a tad over 2 and a half inches and fits perfectly in your palm as if it was meant to be. It was John Lockwood who made me think of this when I saw him using a circular stamping block and thought to myself 'oh that looks just like my coffee jar lid'....quite a light bulb moment for me! Don't get many of those. By the way it doesn't have to be one of the limited edition jars as I think the usual Douwe Egberts have the acrylic lids too.
Ooooh my posts always seem to be long winded but I'm hopeless at explaining things, I seem to go all round the houses!!!
    Love and hugs xxxx

And Hazel that goes for you too, sorry you are in so much pain. Please try not to do anything today, as you say it will all wait, squishy hugs for you too.
Diane, did you find the huge spider, bet it was your whistling nose that attracted it! Have fun at the garden centre, hope your book is still there.
Patricia safe journey over to see Hazel, such a shame she wasn't able to do the airport run, your nephew and niece sound like lovely caring people.
Muriel, you make me laugh. Emergency ward 10! I have vague recollections of Dr. Kildare, was that the one he was in? Hope Zoe is feeling a little bit better today.
Maria, enjoy your home alone time, hope your neck is not too sore.
Jess hope your carpet fitter clears up after himself.
Myra, safe journey, don't forget to takes notes about the route. Enjoy your time with Kenneth and Victoria.
Brenda, so sorry John is having a bad day, give him a hug from me please.
Well I don't know where my morning has gone. It just disappeared. If anyone finds it please send it back to me. Been on the phone to Joanne, she says she is in less pain today but her neck is still very sore and she still is unable to straighten her head yet. Says the tablets are making her feel spaced out so she won't be doing anything today.

Did not get over to Hazels, when I told her I was coming she said not to bother. She said she would probably keep nodding off .... I really did not think my company would be "that" boring!!!. She had taken extra strong painkillers and said she would just be sleeping ... Phew!! thank goodness that was the reason.
Popped to Tesco in Blairgowrie to top up the basics. Bought loads of butter, I have used so much Butter baking all these Butter Biscuts of Margarets, plus Lemon Drizzle Cakes. They have become the "house favourites"

Charlie disturbed me last night to sort something out. So by the time I had got my head round things I was then wide awake but not with it either. Watched the recording of DIYSOS. So nice to see these lads getting help. We need more homes like these. Anyway, Charlie delivered the cooked chickens off up to sisters, he said the house was sparking. The two are excited to them coming home but know things will not be the same, as its back to sharing rooms etc, and not being able to just get on with things. Anyway I am off to do a bit of walking about just so I do t sniffed up. Xxx

Your card today is stunning so beautiful and very elegant Sandra I love everything about it, but unfortunately I'm with Hazel on this one, I love seeing cards like this but me doing one no never I hate the mess! Sorry.
Ladies yet again sorry to be late but after doing the school run I had an appointment at the hospital for a check up, all well, phew thank goodness. Would you believe this, my appointment was 9.30am we arrived at 9.00am for once I was early! Sat down in the waiting area after a few minutes the nurse asked my name I told her I was early Oh she said I will give it a few minutes and if the 9am appointment does not turn up I will see you, sure enough I was seen the 9am and 9.15am appointments never turned up! When I came out still no one had arrived, talk about people wasting NHS money. At least we got seen and then got our Sainsbury's shop done earlier than expected.
Then popped over to check on my friend who is feeling a little better today but still taking things very easy, by then it was lunch time!
Hazel sorry to hear you are not feeling too good take things easy, there is always another day not broken into for housework, sending you some hugs too.
Yet again we have superb sunshine but it is decidedly chilly, and believe it or not we had frost on the lawn this morning! I really regret to say I do think winter is on the way, I have already got my emergency supplies in, extra butter in the freezer, long life milk and fruit juices in the garage, extra flours and sugars stocked up and the freezer well stocked too. If the weather is bad I just don't venture out except to do the school run.
Have a lovely day everyone whatever you are doing

OH! Margaret please don't say winter is not too far away. We did have frost and thick, thick fog here this morning. I have not done the "winter stocking up yet" We are thinking about getting another freezer to put out in the garage.
Did not go over to Hazels this morning. She told me not to bother, she would keep nodding off. I was glad she said it was because of the strong painkillers she had taken and not because my company would be so boring!!! xxx

    3. Hello Margaret C, great that you were seen so promptly at the Hospital. I'm always the one that goes early, and is last to be seen! I've nearly walked out before when I've waited over 4 hours just to be seen, but haven't because I know I'd be in trouble!! I'm lucky, our nearest Supermarket is 2 minutes away in the car - too handy really, George spends more time there than at home!!!!
I bet you freeze great loads of baking before the really bad weather takes hold. xxxxx

    4. MARGARET:- I saw on the news about the swans. We also have loads of Canada Geese come in here as well.
Do have my big bag of salt in for the paths!!!
Please keep your fingers crossed the weather stays good for us getting to and from the Retreat.
I did a trip down to Darlington the same weekend a few years ago. I just got back to the Ranch in time, were snowed in for 2 weeks from the next day. We do have a 4x4 plus a long drive. Stupidly we never thought to park the car just inside the gates rather than right up to the Garage. Our farmer neighbour did use his tractor to get us down to the gate. We were stocked up the so never really needed to get out.
Our Farmer neighbour now has a fantastic Vending machine at his yard. It is stocked with Veg.Boxes, eggs & potatoes, we could if pushed make our way round or phone and he would deliver. He always leaves a bag of potatoes when the weather is bad.
Remember to keep those fingers crossed for good weather in 2 weeks time xxx

As long as we get to edinburgh, on our first train then we will just pray the buses can make it or the train to near mine and Jess can get from edinburgh to even Falkirk we will be fine., ,it's the 7.30am train FRIDAY morning, we will have to walk to,the station 300 yds from mine! It's the only train that goes each day from our station to edinburgh.

No we are not Muslims!!! John collects them. He has them but can't use them, like you Margaret his knees are really bad.
Maybe I should pack a Prayer Mat in my Suitcase. Oh! pass on that idea, there will not room. There will hardly be room for a few clothes, I have half of the Raffle Prizes to go in that case. xxx

Luckily I did not need to go to the toilet while he was here, just sat and glued some things together in the living room.(not my legs!!)

  23. Hello again all
I have spent most of the afternoon die cutting all the bits I need for my important c cards. I have decided to get them all cut out and take them home with me and assemble them there. I would never get them finished otherwise. I need to go and get some more card stock though but really can't face it today so I will go into town tomorrow. It's the most miserable wet day you could imagine here.
Hazel so happy to hear you are feeling much better now, hope the same can be said for Sandra.
Sandra if you feel up to it come in and let us know how you are.
Just another 40 borders to cut out so I had better get back to it.

The crafting from yesterday was left in a pile everywhere in the kitchen so now that will have to wait until tomorrow night. We are down to London tomorrow, son need new passport so we are taking him down to the Swedish Ambassy in the morning and hope for a dry day so we can have a walk around afterwards.
