Ally Pally Meet up!

 Good Morning Ladies,
I have some photos of all of us at Ally Pally to share with you today, so here is the line up, on the left you have Diane (who doesn't usually look like this), Maria, Brenda (lello), Paul and Yvonne from Sue's blog.
On the right we have, (oops I don't know the first ladies name) sorry, then Lynda (just), Pat, Margaret P,
Me, Brenda (littlelamb) and Sue.
Pure mischief going on in this photo, Diane, Maria & Brenda, there was plenty of laughter, Brenda had the biggest shopping list ever, it made Paul think that I was being very good!
Here we have Sue (Mrs B) and Brenda (littlelamb) you can see some of Brenda's purchases on the table, but most of them were on the floor, hidden, Sue had a whole cart full, that I think Paul took back and emptied once!.
Lovely photo of the very lovely Lynda, and her lovely husband Terry, taking a break from being the photographer here! I have a photo to follow of Lynda's haul!
I have no idea what I was gesticulating at here, Margaret and Pat in this one too.
Lynda and Sue
Lynda's goodies.
I hope that gives you all a bit of an insight into our fun day out, Lynda was the only one brave enough to photograph her goodies, to be honest I didn't buy that much, I got some card, some 8 x 8 cards, some foils for heat foiling, some sticky pearls, some die storage folders, Sue's Rose embossing folder, justrite stamp set that was half price, that was it i think. ( maybe more than I thought), most of the dies were more expensive than Icon, but it was good to see them up close.

Yesterday was a very long day, up at 5am, we did the airport drop and then set off the other 84 miles to my mum's, stopping for breakfast, we arrived at mums at about 11am, when we arrived the kitchen was a hive of activity which never happens, my sister had made a delicious home made lasagne, which was a real treat as we usually have to go and buy our meals.  The atmosphere was ok, I don't think it will ever go back to how it was before 'the call' but it was bareable.  Its done now, we got home at about 9pm, so we were both totally exhausted.
Sophie and Lucy won their match 3-1, Sophie being one of the goal scorers, which is just fantastic and the boost she needed, funny thing is Paul and I have been saying for years that they should play both of the girls on the left side together and today they did and it worked a dream! Happy faces all round!
Have a lovely Sunday my lovelies,
Love and hugs
Sandra

  1. Good morning Sandra and all who call in today. Firstly Sandra I am so glad everything went ok yesterday, ok as you said it won't ever go back to how it was! BUT you made the effort and went, they can't say you didn't. And the fact that a meal was prepared is a big change for them, so get that lovely thank you card made and let them know how much you appreciated the effort they had gone to.
As for the AP photos, they are great and so nice to see everyone looking very happy and relaxed, Aprils photo you all really didn't know each other so well, yet 5 months down the line you can see how much more you all do.
Lynda, I wish I could spend so much on goodies, when I go to a show, lucky you.
Talking about shows, Anne if we meet outside the big hall they use for lunches at say 12.30 you will recognise Patricia from her little photo. ( what do you think?)
Nothing much on the cards here today, it's still dark so can't see what the weather looks like it's going to do. So apart from doing the normal daily household bits and pieces, we will just wait and see what happens.
Sheila, you will have to let us know how much Nikki enjoyed her adventure.
Cafe all looking good, and all set for today. I have got my tea and toasted tea cake and will away a people watch. xxx

    1. Hola Hazel!
We were just saying that we will be freezing when we get home at the end of the week! Winter woollies were mentioned. I brought pashminas here and haven't even carried one with me anywhere. It's lovely in the evening because it is comfortably warm to walk about. Looking forward to meeting up too! Not in Glasgow unfortunately but isn't it lovely how many of us have met now! Xxx

    2. Pashminas are great Patricia and I have them in all colours, as you say great for that extra warm when. It's lovely and sunny but it's only 14c here. xxx

  2. Good morning Sandra
    Good morning everyone,
Oh I have been waiting to see some pics from AP just to put faces to names- and I must say you all look just as friendly in the flesh so to speak as you do reading the day to day antics here in the cafe - lots of smiles and I don't think they are from purchases. I've never been to AP but my friend has, she used to live in London, she's told me how gorgeous it is and I can see from the backgrounds how lovely it is.
We are off to Llandudno today, with Johns daughter, husband and grandchildren and I might just have to go into the craft shop there, they had some A3 card last time I went so will pick my friend some up if they still have it. I've missed the last craft show in Manchester because we were on holiday, so I've got withdrawal symptoms.
Its forecast a lovely day so hoping it's right. Have tidied round in the cafe and and left everything straight I know Patricia likes everything ticketyboo haha xx
Will PPP back when we get home - I hope no one has any aches and pains, Sandra you and Paul take it easy today, so pleased your visit wasn't too stressful but all the travelling is tiring too isn't it
Have topped the basket to the top just in case they are needed
    See you later

    3. Hello Jean,
I've never been to Llandudno, but my parents went there in the 1950's and loved it. Do you live in Wales? Glad you had a good day with Nic, enjoy today.

    4. Maureen it hasn't changed much since the 50's except for a couple of shopping parks...it's still has it's old Victorian charm. The only thing that spoils it is you often gets a stiff breeze there and as hubby used to say 'It gets a bit drafty around the aspidistra!!'

      Delete
    5. Sheila the stiff breeze was absent today - so the aspidistras were safe !!
We love Llandudno on the Victoriana weekend - its brilliant

  3. Morning/Afternoon to all who may pop in today.
Sandra - so pleased that everything went well yesterday even if the atmosphere was a bit strained. You did go and they had made the effort for lunch so now you can settle down at home. Congratulations to the girls especially that wonderful goal scorer!!

Thank you for the photos. It really is nice to put faces to names though I shall have to revisit the pic a few times before I will remember who's who.
You all look so happy and what a fantastic haul Lynda. Have you had a play with them yet?

Nothing planned here today. At the moment we have a proper Autumn morning. Dry, very misty and quite chilly. It so reminds me of the Poem which has the line 'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness close busom-friend of the maturing sun'. (John Keats). Have a good day everyone whatever you all do.
Sheila - I hope Nikki enjoyed her adventure.
Cheryl - hope you had one wonderful birthday.
Saba - hoping the seas are kind to you.
Jean - enjoy your day at the seaside with the family.

Off to sit with my coffee for a few minutes. I've put the hugs in the basket whether they stay there until chosen who knows.

AP photos are brilliant, really looking forward to meeting up with the ones going to the Retreat .... not long now!!
Oh! My! Word! Lynda that was some spend for you. I would have had to save all year to afford that lot.
Nothing much happening here today .... well it's still early. Things can all change when the phone rings!!!! Mind you Audrey is off today, no doubt she will be running around getting things sorted for their holiday on Thursday. She has 2 Night Shifts to do Monday/ Tuesday.
Hazel has everything set up beautifully so I will just grab a cuppa and some Toast and do some people watching.

  5. Morning Sandra and all the lovelies,
Oh I love loving at pics of all you lovelies and you all look such a happy and jolly bunch, thank you Sandra for sharing them with us and to Lynda for taking most of them.
Sandra I'm so pleased yesterday turned out a lot better than you expected...sometimes it just happens that way and congratulations to the girls on their win.
I'm so sorry I didn't get back to you after Nikki's visit only for some reason I just felt so tired and kept nodding off. Nikki excitement was tinged with a cold and tickly cough...I felt so sorry so after telling me about her lovely trip she was feeling a bit sorry for herself...which I can fully understand Bless her. I know at home they don't make a huge fuss when it's something like a cold as they know that Nikki can play on it a bit.....but I'm her Mum so I gently reassured her it would go away soon and kept giving her plenty of hugs. She bought me a magnetic shopping list for the fridge...I will find that very handy and she was delighted when I put my first thing to remember on it. Oh and she told me the brochure for the Blue planet Aquarium was for me to keep!! She does make me chuckle at times. I think her cold had taken it out of her a bit by the time she was picked up as she was a bit subdued, but I know she will bounce back again...as she told me she wanted to go on another trip.
Well I caved in last night after Margaret had emailed me about the Platinum on the craft Channel. I haven't got Sky and so I went straight to their website and ordered it....it was such a good price at £119. That's it now I must start cutting back on buying crafty stash and so I'm blaming Margaret for that last one....only teasing Margaret as you knew I had been looking at them and I was so grateful that you emailed me.
I hope our lovely ladies who have been feeling poorly are feeling much better today and are on the mend.
Wishing you all a lovely sunny day will pop back later and have put hugs in the basket and I do hope Norah's pesky rascals are behaving themselves.

    Love and hugs Sheila xxxxx

Karen what a beautiful box, I love how you have decorated it.
And Cheryl, a very belated Happy Birthday to you. Sorry I missed it, hope you had a lovely day.
Ally Pally looked fabulous. You all obviously had a good time by the smiles on your faces. Diane, you are still my hero for carrying on after your fall.
Sandra, thank you so much for showing us these pictures and Lynda please thank Terry for taking them. He looks lovely and what a kind man he must be or did you sneak off to buy your hoard?
I am pleased yesterday went well for you Sandra, it's the first step, now send that card as Hazel said.
Well we are having some windy weather to say the least. Yesterday we sailed or rather flew down to a beautiful bay called Drvenic. HAZEL DONT READ THE NEXT BIT. We were under full sail and most of the time and the boat was listing heavily to the starboard side. I was sitting on the starboard side looking up at Peter sitting high above me on the backboard side. All was well except for the waves which were about 6 feet high at times and there were occasions when my side of the boat was briefly in the water, I got a wet back! But at least that side of the boat got a good wash. When we arrived at the bay we anchored up and about an hour later, mid Gin and tonic Peter decided he wasn't happy with our position and we must up anchor and move a bit further out. Which we did. It was not possible to go ashore, too windy so we ate on board AGAIN. Today the weather forecast is not brilliant again, very strong winds and increasing so in half an hour we will be upping the anchor and setting off. Not sure where, it all depends on the wind and waves.
Will try and call in this evening, love and hugs for all

Was going to post earlier but realise Barbara Grey was on, so have been watching her with her Groovi plates. I got mine at AP last week. I've had a little play with mine, Ciara asked me how to use it. I gave her a very brief demo and suggested she use the starter plates first. No, not for her, she wanted to use the more intricate plates. I got for when I felt more confident! Well my flabber was gasted - She did an amazing job and made me feel like the novice ha ha ha. Wish I had the confidence of a nine-year-old. There was no stopping her!!!
Sandra, so pleased yesterday went well, and even more pleased to read of the girls success. Well done Sophie. Well done to the team.

Jean-hope your day out to Llandudno is great, I love the place. I always manage to find something to buy in the craft shop there.

Feeling a bit better but worried the cough is heading towards a chest infection, let's hope I'm wrong. We're off to Phil's brothers for dinner tonight-lasagna cooked by Kelli. She didn't bring baby Liam round yesterday in case he caught my "germs"- amusing as I probably caught this from them!! We had a great day out at Llandudno - went to the craft shop and bought some more A3 linen card 300 gsm for £7.50 have had it before and its really good. A brilliant sunny day - tired now though - Take care

The photos look amazing, just for the record, the lady at the front is JACKIE TRINDER (I think). I bought that butterfly die LYNDA Had a play yesterday It is stunning. I glittered and paper pieced the butterflies because I had this idea that I didn't want the solid butterflies on top Having just watched SW use CE glitter glue I will try that effect next time!
Good for the girls winning at football. My sister used to play for a ladies team back in the 70's

  17. Good afternoon Sandra and all the coffee shop crew
Well this morning came and brought some beautiful sunshine so on went the washer and in went the bedding followed by towels, all out basking in the warm sunshine. I do love getting the washing out in the fresh air it always smell so lovely.
Sandra so pleased yesterday went without incident and you had a lovely lunch and arrived home, tired yes, but safely and no doubt the news of a win and a goal would take away the stress and tiredness. Well done Sophie for scoring and providing the icing on the cake for dad and mum's day!
Lynda many thanks to you and Terry for giving us all an insight into a wonderful day that you all had meeting up and having a good spend at AP oh you lucky people!
The family called in after a visit to the Cumbrian Food Festival that is on in town and brought us some wonderful cheeses as a present for helping them while they moved home and stayed for lunch, so that was a lovely surprise. The pie and pea supper went really well last night they were all given a lovely warm welcome by everyone in the village who attended and SIL won the beetle drive too!
Sheila delighted to know Nikki had such a good time on her little trip, and as for giving cuddles, in my book that is what mum's are for, no matter what age they are. Yes I have broad shoulders so I will take the blame for you buying the new Spellbinders machine I do hope it is all you expect it to be and more. I must say I have been very impressed with what I have seen of it and am giving it some serious thought.
PLEASE NOTE if anyone else should buy the new machine at such a great price from the Craft Channel you can take the blame yourselves!!! That is with the exception of Myra, you can blame it on the sun my ducky friend!!
Well Michele PLEASE, PLEASE, WILL YOU GO TO SEE A DOCTOR as mummy Hazel and I say it is better to be safe than sorry, just remember you have the fight home and need to be well for that. Hope you have a lovely meal.
Well done Margaret on raising such a fantastic amount for such a wonderful cause, you have most definitely earned a rest, so do have one today.
I have put some hugs over in the corner so please help yourselves, I'm off to get dinner prepared, I will try and pop in later, enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone.

Sandra, I'm glad yesterday's visit went much better than you thought it would, and that you were catered for, and did not have to make your own meal!! Now, show them how it should be done and send one of your beautiful Thank You cards. It's also great that the girls did so well in their match, well done to them.
Thank you for posting the fantastic photos of AP. I am going to wear Brenda OB's paper bag at the Retreat, you all look so lovely. I wonder how long it takes a facelift to heal. Have I got time?
I had a great night's sleep last night, didn't wake once - I don't even know if George got up - so I had loads of energy this morning. Two lots of washing done (all the cushion covers and arm caps off the suite was one load), they were put out to dry and now all the ironing has been done. Front garden lawn mowed and edge trimmed, and borders weeded, driveway swept. Snack prepared and eaten, dishes done, e-mails answered, and been on the blog for ages posting under people's comments where my laptop would let me.
George is preparing the dinner (he's a keeper), good English food, not mucked up ha ha. Then I'm going to put my feet up and do nothing.
That's one thing about going to the Vigil Mass on a Saturday evening, it means you can get a good run on a Sunday without stopping and starting. I never feel like doing much when I get home after I've been to Mass on a Sunday morning.

  20. Good evening ladies,
Well what can I tell you about our day. Karen, get ready to be sick again.
It was much the same as yesterday except this time the waves were higher, the wind was stronger and the port side was under water most of the time. I swear I saw the keel lift out of the water once. Peter says I didn't but I think I did. And to top it all not once, not twice but three times a bloody big wave came right over the stern and wet me through. The first time I laughed, mainly at Peters facewhich was a picture, he looked very worried but ended up laughing with me or at me I am not quite sure. The second time was less funny but equally wet. The third time I did not find it amusing in the least, it was literally dripping off me. We have ended up where we were two days ago further up north again. We should have stayed here and had a relaxing few days. The weather forecast for tomorrow is much the same, gale force winds and rough sea. We will have to move on though because we are running out of supplies and apart from a restaurant there is nothing else on this island. Hey ho. I would give my back teeth for a nice hot bath!
Michele, please do what the older contingent has said and go see a doctor.
Sheila so nice to hear Nikki enjoyed her time but sorry she is suffering with a cold, your cuddles will definitely have helped.
Maria, so sorry your tummy is causing you problems again, try to drink plenty and try not to worry about Tuesday.
Margaret P well done for raising all that money for your charity.
Margaret (Corgi) stop encouraging people to spend money!! I can't wait to get home and order one!!!
Myra next time can I come on holiday with you, I'm fed up with sailing now.

Well better late than never I suppose. We've only just come in after a visit to Waddesdon Manor. Plus a Sunday Roast on Wetherspoons. Please don't anyone go to Wetherspoons for a Sunday Roast. Pete and I both had Beef. Well that's what it was supposed to be. It looked sort of like beef but tasted nothing like. Wish I'd had my usual Lasagne, Pete wished he'd had a steak.
Lovely ouch if Ally Pally Sandra ( little lamb) didn't look very happy in the oicture that Terry took. But she was quite happy so she must have been taken when she was unaware of it being taken.
I'm glad that yesterday's visit wasn't to bad, as you said the atmosphere wasn't right. Fancy your sister making a meal. Wonders will never cease.
Wow fancy the girls winning again. It will do the teams confidence no end of good. Perhaps the coach will play them both on the left again with a bit of luck.
