Black & Gold Tuesday

Good morning lovely ladies,
Today's card is a nod to the 'channel card',
I started by glueing a piece of Pale gold shimmer card to my 8x8 black base card.
I then cut a piece of black card, to just smaller than the gold card and ran it through the Grand Calibur with the French Collection Border die, I put the remaining large part of the black card through the eternity emboss folder, I love this pattern! I then cut the next 'decorative' layer out of black card, finishing off with a layer of gold shimmer card to match the base colours. I stamped "thinking of you" as the sentiment. I added a piece of gold silky crush ribbon across the card, finishing off with a double bow in black and soft gold and a couple of stick pins! Close up below......

Close up of sentiment!

Hope you are all well, hugs, Sandra x

  7. Another beauty Sandra. Such a beautiful colour combo. I really love your style - Sandra Style. Ive not tried this technique, but you inspire me. Between You, our Sue, Tina E, Hazel and Patricia, Lynda and now Pam's blog, Im hoping to learn so much more about how to use my dies rather than just for cutting.
Had a call from JS customer service re my die, Joanna and Richard are away until next week so Ive asked for them to try it when they get back rather than refund the cost (I was cheeky and cut a few of the smaller decorative square before sending them back,) but its the largest square I miss as want a nice large frame to work with, never mind, Im just as happy to wait and see what the outcome is.
Does anyone else have probs with little brown specs on their card after running their die through ? It doesnt happen all the time, but I seem to spend more time scrapping the brown bits offf the card Ive just cut, its so time consuming especially with the very detailed dies, and very frustrating when the edges of my white or delicate pastel card has that ugly brown outline round it.
Well I hope you are feeling a bit better today Sandra. Take care. Keep happy.
