Good Morning Ladies,
The girls asked me if I'd like to go into Oxford with them yesterday, my body was saying no but my need to find a dress had me saying yes please, it is currently 6 hours later (we are in the car on our way home) and boy do I wish I'd said no thank you. The phase eight shop in John Lewis was so tiny it was pointless, I needed to return a dress I had found online abd ordered, I tried it on and it was huge on me! So I need to return that, I had hoped to do it in store but I have to return it by post, I will order the next size down and see what it looks like, the bonus is it matches the jacket and shoes I bought last year.
The problem with Oxford is the tourists, huge groups of people everywhere, the girls wanted to eat somewhere but everywhere was jam packed, I had suggested Cheltenham as it isn't anywhere near as popular with tourists. As we are sat here in traffic there isn't a part of my body that doesn't hurt, to finish the day off we walked down this side street to avoid crowds with wheelchair, we were walking back towards car park, we'd seen three 'dodgy' looking men get in this car that had all dark windows, a few seconds later their was a defeaning noise like a gun shot or explosion, it terrified us, the girls both said they still couldn't hear out of one side 10 minutes later, I just thank god that we weren't 5 minutes earlier as we would have been directly where the noise came from. Rest assured today will be a slow day !
Today's card is the 3rd and final card that I made using the 49 & Market papers. This sheet was really pretty, with the birds and butterflies. I picked the green in the foliage to use as the accent colour, using thevl same colour for the layers. I die cut an oval for the greeting and stamped a sentiment from a set I have had for ages, I picked a orange colour to match the background. I fussy cut some butterflies to finish the card.
I hope that you all have a lovely day,
Love and hugs to all,
Sandra xxx
Pretty card I like the idea of these papers being ready made toppers
ReplyDeleteYour trip sounded awful and frightening Was there anything on the news about it?
We have the boys again today We’re taking them horse racing which I’m a bit cross about OH in his ultimate wisdom thinks they’ll enjoy it! Did we ever take our two at this age - No! It’ll be like me taking them to a Craft Show and expect them to enjoy being dragged around different stalls! Men! Anyway it’s a cheapie and if need be we can always leave
Take care everyone xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteLovely cards today and yesterday 😊
Glad the make up trial went well with Becca.
Blimey sounds a very long day in Oxford and scary too - did you find out what the explosion’ was? Fingers crossed the smaller size dress fits when it arrives.
Few days off now, probably won’t be doing much as I have hurt my foot! Don’t know what I’ve done, but was worried I wouldn’t be able to walk on it this morning when I got up. Fortunately I’m still mobile but taking it easy.
Karen, I hope you’ve had a good day and the boys enjoyed the horse racing 😬
Hugs to all xx
Hello all, another rainy day, still it saves watering.
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards today and yesterday. That patterned paper is delightful, suits so many occasions.
Sorry I wasn’t able to comment yesterday. We had an accident Tuesday evening, R went out to water the hanging baskets and while he has reaching up he slipped over, hit his head in two places, but couldn’t get up. Luckily he had his mobile phone, so I had a call to say he was flat on the slate path face down. I couldn’t get him up so had to call the neighbours, luckily we have very good neighbours who came and got him up onto a garden chair. We had to call ambulance because of the two nasty gashes on his head. They said not to move him, they waited with me for about three quarters of an hour. By then he was getting cold although we put a throw over him, also he was soaking wet from the watering can, so we got him into the lounge, I persuaded the neighbours to go home and waited for the ambulance. They came within the hour and we super. Gave him a complete check up but said he was ok. He has two lovely black eyes now. I was shaking like a leaf, still wasn’t great yesterday.
Sorry such a long story. Lilian
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteA pretty card Sandra. Very nice papers that you have used the last few days. Hope you are ok today after all the excitement in Oxford.
Karen, hope you had a good fun with the boys at the races.
Sonia, couldn't believe it when I saw Barney on Facebook. 5 years old already, I remember when we saw him as a puppy 🥳
Oh Lilian, sorry to hear about R. I'm glad he be alright but how scary for you. I wish him better and sending you both hugs.
I woke up this morning to go to the toilet and it was like I was on the high seas and this has continued all day. No Idea why but looked the symptom up and it could be the inner ear so will wait and see if it's better in the morning. I phoned my dad quickly this afternoon. It was tough but nice to speak to him. He is devastated understandably but it's the best way to go.
Sending hugs to you all and hoping that you had a good- ish day. Take care. Maria xx
