My First Fun Fold for this weeks Challenge

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you have all made it through that horrendously hot and sticky weekend without too much discomfort.  It wasn't the best weather for packing and cleaning the house so that its all perfect for when you get home (I have asked the girls to leave it the same on Wednesday,  although Becca is staying over a few nights too so goodness knows what we will find ðŸĪĢ😂

We ended up leaving later than planned as those last minute jobs always take longer than you expect!  But there was no rush really, we couldn't check in to our hotel until after 3pm anyway.  The car was packed to the seams, it isn't as big as our Previa and with the girls bags etc it made quite a difference but Paul got it all in !

Today's card is one that I made on Thursday after deciding to do a 'Fun Fold' Challenge.  It's a 'Book Fold', its super easy to create, you basically score 1 inch in on the front flap and stick it down to the back of card.  You can then decorate as you wish, I decided to use a newish stamp set called 'Wonderful World' I stamped the flowers for the front and die cut with a circle die and created a matching mat in Orchid Oasis.  I created a ribbon border using punches and used some diamond gems that I coloured to match.  I used the same stamp on the inside to add some interest. I hope you like it 😘

I will update you on our journey as we go along,

I hope that you all have an amazing day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                xxxxxx

  1. Pretty card It does look easy I might have a go After the disappointment of the die not cutting yesterday I felt a bit despondent and didn’t want to paper craft But a new day so will start again
Take the positive out if yesterday’s slow journey - you were together and safe It wasn’t lashing down with rain
It’s a bit like “if life gives you lemons, drink Tequila!” I prefer this one to the usual “make lemonade”
I have a day off work today and so before it gets too hot I will be in my craft room trying to get a card made
    Take care everyone xx

  2. Hi everyone
A beautiful card today, I love that fold 😊
Cloudy and humid here today, I’ve got my fingers crossed for rain and thunderstorms 😊 Fingers crossed too that it doesn’t rain on Saturday. It’s brother in law’s wedding and wouldn’t it be Sod’s law if after all this dry weather it rains! 😎
Hoping to make a start on their wedding card this afternoon - nothing like leaving it until the last minute, eh?! ðŸĪŠ
Hope your journey is going well and you’re enjoying the lovely scenery.
    Have a good day everyone
Sending hugs to you all xxx

  3. Hi, sorry I’ve not been in for a few days, feeling very down after brothers news, but I’ve heard so many positive results I’m feeling a bit better.

Sandra love todays card, I think I might manage one like that. Very pretty stamp, are they carnations?

Glad you managed to get away ok, and that the journey goes well.

Still very hot and humid here, heard some thunder this morning but no rain, we have a hose pipe ban started next week.
Hope you all manage to keep cool, Lilian

  4. Hello Sandra and ladies,
Lovely card today love the book fold it works so well, love the stamps you have used and the bright blue card is stunning.
Hope your journey is going well and your hotel tonight is comfortable. Best wishes for the next part of your journey. XX
It’s been another hot and humid day here, I just didn’t feel like doing anything, in fact I had a nap this morning even though I had a good nights sleep. The afternoon was spent quietly as I was feeling a bit off colour (think it’s the medication) I did manage to eat a small dinner this evening.
Take care everyone. Big Hugs Brenda xxx

  5. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today.
I’ve never used this card fold but it is so simple but so different. I must remember to use it! What a pretty card. I love the stamp set and that blue colour is gorgeous. I hope your journey continues safely and with no hold ups. Enjoy yourselves my lovely xx
Lilian, sorry you haven’t been feeling so good but I do hope that you can start to feel more positive xx
Brenda, This weather is so tiring so with that and your meds it’s no surprise you are feeling like you do at the moment. I hope you feel better very soon xx
Maria, I hope your painful body gives you a break soon. This weather is not good for dodgy joints isn’t it! Xx
Sonia, I hope you have managed to get some crafting in during your time off. Is Barney still full of beans even while it is so hot? Fingers crossed Saturday is dry for your BiLs wedding. It would such a shame if it was wet xx
I’m hoping to get on with my cards tomorrow as we have nothing on.
Sending love and hugs to you all. Take care xx

  6. Hi everyone
Love the card, nice fold and cards colour is such a nice blue.
Nice to hear the journey goes well even if the traffic can be a bit of a mess and long queues.
I felt a bit better today so we went to Frost this morning and sat in their garden. It was nice to get out again and they have massive parasols to keep you in the shade so we probably were there a couple of hours in the end. Back home I sat in our garden, brown and very dry, and read a book by Richard Osman.
Brenda- wishes for you soon to feel better. Sending hugs.
Lilian- sending you hugs. If you need to talk you know where we are.
Sue- thanks. I so wish that your migraines are not too bad and you soon feel more normal. Sending you extra hugs.
Janet- hopefully this should be the end of the heatwave and it be more bearable for us all in the next few days. How is your garden looking. Do you have hosepipe ban in France too. It was talk about it here but think they have found some so we can still use the hose for watering it just the cost to think about.
I hope you all can have a good night. Many hugs to you all xxx
