Aan card for this weeks Wings Challenge

Good Morning Ladies,

Is it me or does this feel like a really long week??!!  How can it only be Thursday? Yesterday I kept thinking it was Friday all day, I guess it's after the Holidays etc, got to get back into a routine.   Anyway how are you all, how is your week going?, I hope that those of you that have been struggling are starting to feel a bit brighter.  I am definitely better than I did at the weekend, although a little tired today, I keep waking up in a full on panic attack, I think it starts if I end up sliding off my pillow, so I end up laying almost flat, whatever it is is causing me a full on panic attack, it took me over an hour to get my heart back into a normal rhythm, thank goodness I have Sudoko's on my phone, they seem to help calm me down, probably because you have to concentrate.

Sophie pretty much slept on and off all day yesterday, I think she said her flight was 10 1/2 hrs coming back, she was so excited to see us and be home, we cooked some of her favourite food and Toffee Pecan Roulade for dessert (her all time favourite) but she was struggling to stay awake the whole time, she said that there was an 'unhappy' child on their flight meaning that they got no sleep at all, which made it worse.  She was excited to give us all the gifts she bought for us, she chose some lovely things bless her.  I think she was asleep by 9pm and I still hadn't a peep from her at 3pm yesterday, so I called up to see if she wanted a drink, she did come down but looked shattered, so we are having a roast tonight with lots of vegetables as that it the one thing she said she really missed, I am guessing that she will go upstairs and chill out with Lucy for a bit and then get another early night. I am sure it will take a good few days to get back on track, luckily she doesn't have University until Monday.

Today's card is a perfect card for 'Men' I was inspired by the lovely Jo Rice, her videos are so lovely to watch, she seems such a lovely lady, she makes some lovely projects for Lavinia stamps too.
I used a Compass stencil, which I added Rustic Wilderness and Vintage Photo DO and spritzed with water and laid it down on a piece of watercolour card, I tried using super smooth card but I just didn't get great results/  I then stamped 2 butterflies and coloured them with Rustic Wilderness and Peacock Feathers DO, I then went in with a Watercolour pencil and added a bit of shading. I stamped the hearts and coloured with the same, I then added Crystal Lacquer (Glossy Accents) to make them stand out a little more,  for the sentiments I used Coffee stirrers to stamp ''With Brave Wings She Flies''  and then ''Trust your wings'' I stamped a few ink splats and some text from a stamp, finished the Butterflies with pen nibs. Finished with some Posca pen white ink splats.

I hope that you all have an enjoyable Thursday, hopefully we will be blessed with more glorious Sunshine, boy does it lift your spirits.

Sending Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Everyone
Love today's card SANDRA. Such an interesting background too.
I have to admit I haven't done anything towards this week's Challenge/journal page. I really must get myself into the'zone'.

K&N was good on Tuesday although strange as you couldn't really have a good conversation with one person as the tables have to be set apart -required distance etc- so you had to shout across the room. It will need getting used to the format. I was shattered when I got home.I had forgotten how tiring taking crafting materials to an outside venu is.

The CAFE is ofcourse OPEN to Anyone who wishes to pop in and see what's happening.
HUGS are on their way to you all with loads of extras for Dear Friends not feeling too well.
PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

  3. Hi everyone from a cold but beautiful day in MK
Had a lovely walk and then took the car for a spin for OH is worried that he once again will get a flat battery if not.

Lovely card Sandra, you make it look easy but I just can't get any together. Think I got the same problem as Sonia that I have too many ideas and nothing look right/good so no crafting for me today but who knows....
Janet, glad you had a nice time with K&N, little time some normality. Rest up today.
It's lovely to have Son's girlfriend around again. Not too much for me to do. They cooking their own meals and it smalls rather good but don't think I could became a vegan.
I do test some of their food but bacon, chicken and tuna can never taste the same as the real thing.
Hoping everyone feeling alright and manage to see some of the gorgeous day. Many warm hugs to all, Maria xx

  6. Hello All, what lovely weather, but very cold.
Sandra love your card, the colouring is just special.

Dr phoned back today, less than useless, he admitted he didn’t know what to do. More pills, muscle relaxant which he says will help.
Told to phone gynaecologist secretary, she was very nice, said she would phone me back, still waiting.
Glad your feeling a bit better Sandra, hugs to all. Lilian
