Your Next Challenge

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Well here we are at the beginning of the last weekend of November, I literally can't believe it, November has gone so fast, it doesn't seem like it's been 6 months since Paul put all of the Advent Calendars etc up in the loft after last Christmas. We aren't going to do Calendars for all of them here this year, I am going to package the chocolates etc and their calendars in bags and they can have them at their own houses, mainly because they don't get opened here as the older two are too busy to keep popping in. So it will look sad this year just seeing Sophie and Lucy's Calendars with Paul's of course, I was thinking of doing one for Milo and Bella, just a single treat each every day, Paul and the girls looked at me like I had lost the plot when I suggested it !!!!

Your Next Challenge

I was really struggling for a Challenge Idea for this week, mostly because I was pre-occupied stressing about my  Covid Booster, I know it won't hurt but I am concerned about the after effects with my heart problems, as we are travelling down to Devon tomorrow! Fingers crossed I will feel fine !!🀞

Now the Challenge I eventually decided on is 'Sparkle & Shine', I chose this for the challenge because it can be used on cards for any occasion, you can use Glitter, Gilding flakes, Embossing powders, Glossy accents, Sparkle pens, Sparkle Sprays, as I look at the door that has all my mediums on I can see so much sparkle and shine!!

You literally can make cards for any occasion, even mixed media like our Tracy Evans fans, we often add Glossy accents etc to those cards too. I have probably just about finished my Christmas cards (apart from a few Special ones) so I know that some of you might want to make cards for other occasions, on the other hand some of you might still have Christmas cards to make, so I think that this works for all of us.

I just want you to know that I do try and think of you all when I choose the Challenges.

I want to send some Special Hugs today, to those of you feeling under the weather, to our Absent Friends too. An Extra Special Hug for Our Karen, my thoughts are with you today my lovely xxx

Sending love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                                                                                          xxxxxx

  1. Morning everyone
Good challenge Sandra. As usual I'm not finished my cards for x-mas, even after starting early and belonging to the group doing a card a week, well that didn't happened ;/
Have some swearwords to do and the cc to finish and a couple of things to photograph and send to you.
I can't believe we nearly in December. Our tree will come up early because it gives me a feelgood feeling in these dark and gloomy days ahead. A quiet x-mas eve with some x-mas food at dinner time after Son have finished work and x-mas day we are invited to one of my SIL's daughters for the whole shebang incl. Molly and Louis. Hopefully they won't be fighting too much over the presents...
Sending love and many warm hugs to you all! Maria xx

  3. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. What a beautiful sight to see here with all of the sparkling and shiny cards. It is so grey and tipping down at the moment here so your cards bring a bit of brightness. I hope you feel ok tomorrow. Will be thinking of you all. I had to giggle when you said you voiced having advent calendars for Milo and Bella as I can just picture Paul, Sop and Lucy’s faces 🀣🀣🀣 I bought some decorations to fill the gaps as each child moved out. Now we just have one big one that I fill with the appropriate number of chocolate coins depending on how many children and grands are going to visit us on whichever days. They all check it as they come as it is on the lounge door πŸ₯°πŸ₯°
Karen, I am thinking of you today dear friend. Seeing Charlie later will be bound to make you smile though, bless him xx
Maria, less and less people are wearing masks now around here too. I hope we can get most of the presents etc on line with just one quick visit into town for the bits we can’t get online. I agree with you about how the Christmas tree brightens up these short grey days xx
Brenda, will you both be able to relax this weekend? I hope so xx
Sonia, how is Barney doing? Is he still taking you for a walk πŸ˜‚xx
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
I have a cold and feel rough so Chris has driven me to get my haircut then I am going straight home and back to bed!

  4. Hello Sandra and ladies,
What a lovely sparkle you have added to our day Sandra, and I’m sure we all need a bit of sparkle on miserable days like this.

Karen thinking of you, I’m sure it doesn’t get any easier, you will have a little treat later on in the day when you see Charlie, I’m sure he adds a Glow to your heart every time you see him. XX

Normally I look forward to November there’s so many family birthdays and celebrations, this November has been probably the hardest of my life, losing people who have felt very close to and attending their funerals has not been easy alongside this I’ve had various health checks which are ongoing, anyway there’s a lot of people worse off than I am, so I mustn’t whinge.

However you’re spending your day I hope it’s a good one, and all you ladies doing the Swear jobs, I hope you will have time to sit and relax and enjoy the rest of the day once you have finished.

Take care everyone keep safe and warm, hugs Brenda XXX

  5. Hi everyone.
A lovely selection of sparkly cards to inspire us for next weeks challenge 😊
Scary isn’t it where this year has gone! This time next month it’ll be Boxing Day! It doesn’t seem possible.
Karen, thinking of you today and sending extra hugs xx
Maria, it’ll be lovely to get your tree up early. A few houses round here have got lights up already. We’re going to have to rethink where we put all our decorations this year - with a very inquisitive Barney πŸΆπŸ˜‚
Sue, Barney still has his moments but does seem to be getting better, he’s engaging more with me and mark on walks now. It’s taking a lot of stopping and starting and turning back the way we’ve just come, but he seems to be getting the hang of it 😊 Hope you’re keeping well xx
Brenda, hope you’re ok, no need to apologise, I didn’t see it as whinging xx
Have a good rest of the day everyone. Stay warm. Sending hugs to you all xxx
