Circle/Square Challenge card 3

Good Morning Ladies,

Well we had our first touch of frost yesterday, we usually leave the back door open during the day so the cats can go in and out as they please, that is going to have to stop now that it is so cold because there was a real chill around the whole house yesterday, I mean I like a bit of fresh air in the house but when you are thinking about putting a jacket on I think it's gone beyond reasonable. I'm not ready to have the heating on all day yet, I do have a little oil filled radiator in my craft room and that works really well,  so I guess it's time to dust it down ready to switch on.  I still can't believe we are in November!!

Now this card took an hour longer than it should have done, only because I spent an hour looking for the dies I used to create it, I was searching through every bit of die storage that I have after checking the Stampin Up storage boxes twice, you know when you get to that point of frustration when you just want to swipe everything off your desk and stomp away!! Well I was at that point, I thought that I must have binned them in my reorganisation or packed them away somewhere. So I thought that's it I will think of something else, so I went to put the patterned paper and grey card away as I lifted it off my desk thee was the bloomin die set, I had in fact been that organised that I had gotten the Die set out before choosing the papers and colour theme!! I was a mixture of relieved and angry at myself, it was 9pm by now and I had hoped to be done.  But Paul was working late so I had time to sit and make it.

So I cut the various dies from the Encircled in Beauty die set in Silver and white card and layered them together finishing with the smallest die upon which I stamped the 'Let it Snow' sentiment and then embossed it, the sentiment works perfectly for this snowy background paper. I cut a piece of Basic Grey card to make a 4 1.4  X 5 1/2 inch card base and then layered a piece of white card and then the piece of 'Peaceful Place' Designer Series Paper, before adhering the top of the paper I tucked a piece of Glittered Organza Ribbon in and added some glue, I added another dot of glue just over 1/4 of the way down the card, I positioned my focal piece over the ribbon, I used foam pads to give some dimension, (I tried to show the dimension in the bottom photo). To make the die cuts look more like a Bauble I added a double bow of the Organza ribbon and popped a little diamante sparkle in the centre, it's hard to see but there are a few tiny little diamante sparkles all around the background of the card, I placed them on the dots of snow.  I made a different version of this a while back but really like how this one has turned out.

Not much happening here today, Monday night I didn't get to sleep at all, my heart has been quite bad just recently I think it's a combination of pain and tiredness, but i just can't close my eyes long enough to relax, when I did get to sleep on Sunday night I was having the weirdest dreams that actually woke me up!  I felt like an absolute zombie all day yesterday, I can't sleep in the day to catch up, it's something I have never done, plus if i get into a routine of sleeping in the day then I won't ever be able to sleep at night.  Fingers crossed for a better night tonight.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                                                                                          xxxxxx

  2. Morning Everyone
from a very wet, cold and windy Marigny.
We have had rain some part of every day up to now and when it comes it's torrential for about five mins and then just stops as if the tap has been turned off. Everywhere in the garden and paths are covered in leaves and because they are wet it's very difficult to try and get them swept up.
Other than that we're having a good time catching up on all the little jobs that need to be done after such a long time being away.
I'll try and get a CC done for this week SANDRA.

HUGS on their way to you all with extras for Dear Friends not feeling too well.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

  3. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. What a gorgeous card. I love it. The silver layer looks like metal doesn’t it and the paper is so pretty.
How annoying to have wasted time looking for the dies when they were ready and waiting on your desk all along. You have my sympathy as you know how much time I waste doing just the same thing! I hope you managed to get a decent nights sleep my lovely xx
I woke up this morning with my phone in my hand and yesterday’s comment half written! The last two days cards are both beautiful and could be used for the men too which is always helpful xx
It is definitely autumn now isn’t it with that nip in the air that make me dig out my socks.
Have a good day whatever you are all up to. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx

Sorry to hear you’ve not been sleeping well again 😔 it really drains you when you can’t get a good nights sleep. Fingers crossed tonight is better xx
It’s so cold here, and we’ve had a bit of rain this afternoon too. The last 2 mornings have been very frosty, having to make extra time to clear the car before going to work!
We’re off to Great Yarmouth tomorrow, and I’ll definitely be wrapping up warm. Haven’t felt too well the last couple of days, so I hope I’m not coming down with something.
Karen, hope you’re ok after your nose bleed xx
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone, stay warm. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  6. Hello everyone, it’s very cold and wet here.

Sandra, love your card, really Christmasy, I have been trying to make a card for grandsons birthday. He will be 11yrs, can’t believe where the years have gone. Going to cut out stars and put some shinny paper to twinkle through the cut outs.

Hope you all have a good evening, Lilian

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Lovely card today Sandra, so pleased you found those dies, isn’t it strange when we loose something (especially when crafting) it’s often right under our nose. We are the lucky ones being able to see the brilliant results. xx I hope you manage to get a good nights sleep tonight 😴 Sandra.

Sonia hope you are not coming down with any dreadful bug and are able to enjoy your weekend in Great Yarmouth. Remember to wrap up well and keep warm. xx

Janet don’t go overdoing it - trying to catch up on all of the little jobs, remember there’s always tomorrow.xx

Sending hugs to you all , love Brenda xxx
