Your Challenge Cards

Good Morning Ladies,
Here we are again on my favourite day of the week, seeing how you all interpreted the Sketch. We say it every week but it always amazes me how all of the cards are so different.
So here we go.......
Karen

Karen another fantastic card from you, I just love both the Deer and the forest background, it's nice to see such a fresh colour scheme for Christmas cards too!
Here is Karen's description:

My card is a Serif background - obviously! (I'm a bit gutted actually I found out yesterday that DaisyTrail - the company that sells digikits are to be no more after 31st July)
Mixture of dies
Sue W triple Merry Christmas
SW ribbon strip
Spellbinder Lacy Accents border and snowflakes
Freebie "deer" die
Thank You Karen for taking part

Val

Val has managed three cards this week, which is fantastic. She has started the huge task of making Christmas cards for the shop, most of us complain about making 50 cards, Val makes 100's !! Your three Challenge cards are amazing Val, all completely different too, the 1st has such a cute image upon a pretty embossed background, with that Curved border makes the card stand out even more.
The 2nd card has a gorgeous snowflake as it's focal point, the background paper is really pretty with snowflake detail, the snowflakes are finished with pretty pearls.
The 3rd card is my favourite I think, I love anything with pinecones and fir branches, have you stamped the background paper Val??, I absolutely love it !!
Thank you so much for taking part Val.

Maria

Maria, Oh I love your card this week, everything about it works beautifully, the embossed background is stunning, have you sanded it? It looks distressed to me, I love it!  Topped with that incredible Gold die cut Doilly it just works so well, the tiny gold detail you have added to the corners and the pretty gold flower finish your card perfectly! Absolutely amazing Maria, thank you so much.
XXX

Janet

Janet another fantastic Challenge card from you, that Embossed background is amazing, Crafters Companion??? The pretty square die cut is the perfect base for your lovely case of flowers.  A lovely Sue Wilson border finished with the butterfly printed ribbon bow is the perfect finishing touch, thank you so much .
XXX

Margaret

Oh Margaret a stunning Stampin'Up card for the challenge this week, I am so grateful you managed to make one despite feeling poorly.
You have used all of your new SU goodies for your card, Fresh Florals DsP in Tranquil Tide, backed with the same colour card, Flower Shop stamp for you centre piece, which you have placed on the fantastic Label die cut, you have used 'Vertical Greetings' for your sentiments.  Stunning card Margaret, thank you so much.
XXX

Michele

Michele made two Challenge cards this week, the first card Michele made using up bits of card, love the colours you have used, the topper is one you bought from China but you would never believe it was a cheap die, I also have to mention that amazing embossing folder, it looks like crumpled paper to me!
The second card, although you would never guess is also made from scraps of card, the topper is Warren Rabbit, on a lovely green background, the background paper is so pretty too, such an adorable Christmas card Michele, thank you so much!
XXX

Lynda has made two Challenge cards too, more surprising is that she HASN'T used the Northern Lights paper pad! Hahaha! The first card has been made using the new pad that Lynda bought from the Works last week, the lattice die cut is from a Tonic die, Lynda topped this with a Sue Wilson Poinsettia.
The second card Lynda made with Paper from her stash and a Spellbinder Christmas tree die.  Two fantastic cards lynda, thank you so much for taking part!

See....? I told you, you are all amazing, so many fantastic cards again this week!  Janet I have ordered some more boards to display all of these cards on, as I can see you just don't like taking the old ones down! 😉

Thank you all so much once again, today you will find me in my craft Room with my thinking cap upon my head, trying to choose tomorrow's challenge!

Enjoy whatever you are up to today my lovelies, I hope that those of you feeling under the weather are starting to feel stronger. Huge hugs on their way!

Love and hugs to all

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Another wonderful collection of challenge cards. This was a great sketch Sandra.
Looking forward to seeing what the next challenge is.

Had a lovely time in my craft room yesterday afternoon, started making my Mother in Laws 70th Birthday card or rather I've started making a card that I might use for her birthday. I'm not convinced about the colours/papers I've chosen.

We have sunshine here this morning but some dark clouds so I think it will be housework this morning then Crafting this afternoon again.

Can I just say a huge Thank You to everyone for all your support & lovely comments you've left about my difficult situation at work. You're all so very kind & I really appreciate the support.

  2. Morning Sandra and ladies.

Beautiful selection of cards again ladies. So many takes on one sketch.

KAREN I also had an email from Daisy Trail saying they were closing. What a shame. I would have they'd do really well as they're one of a kind. Mind you in saying that, I've never got to grips with how to use Serif. wish I had. You'll have to come over for a few days of intensive training.xxx

Nothing much on today. Just off to the market, some housework and some ironing then nothing planned. I think it could be a craft afternoon.

    Have a good day everyone.

Hugs to those not feeling so good.
    Love Valxxx

    3. Hi Val. I love each of your cc's, especially that gorgeous snowflake on the second one. How do you manage to come up with the designs for the shop cards, do you make several the same or is each one different? I struggle with just the ones I make, let alone the hundreds that you do 😊 I hope you all had a lovely lunch today. Take care x

  4. Hooray it's Sunday I love looking at everyone's take on the challenge All of them are amazing and I'm sooo glad we're not expected to pick a favourite
I would willingly come to a Spain VAL for a session on Serif I don't use it to it's full potential but I use it a lot for printed backgrounds/matching colours and sizing Sentiments to fit dies I downloaded a few of the freebies I didn't have and bought a couple yesterday
Is that an EF you have used on that first card MICHELE ?
As JANET isn't able to provide roast dinner today it's all around to mine - I'm actually doing a roast today, first time in ages So it's roast pork with crackling, crispy roast potatoes, fluffy yorkshires, cauliflower cheese, peas, runners and lashings of gravy Have got apple sauce and cranberry sauce on offer too Dessert is what JANET has left in the fridge Perhaps you can help me sort this crochet pattern out that so can't fathom
Take care I hope you're feeling chirpier VAL
How did your meet up with the lady from MK go MARIA I owe you an email I will try and remember to send one today

    1. Karen-yes it's one of two I bought. It's by We R Memory Keepers, the set is called Gemstones and they're on EBay & Amazon. Can't remember where I bought mine though-they give an amazing finish to the embossed card.

    2. Oh dear, just said to Janet I don't need any food for a while but as you got the roast on the stove it would be rude not to take you up on the invite Lol. The meet up went very well and we shall do it again so if you are around ( the same goes for all of you) come and join us at the next one, probably in Ikea. Looking forward to hear from you and maybe have a meet up too soon in WGC hugs xx

  6. Hi all,
Love looking in again this Sunday to see all the fabulous cards. Stamping, EF's and some lovely dies have been used. No wonder we need some more boards up for them all. I just wondered if we should put some of the cards we made and give them to a charity for them to sell, what do you think ? I have thought about it for a while now. Son saying I should try to sell them on some craft site but I don't feel confident in doing so even if it might give me some money back to buy more "stuff". I don't think it would give me too much back though. I just like to have a wonderful hobby who have given me so many lovely friends on the way and you all helped on some of the darker days I'm having at times. I so hope that when you are back from your holiday Sandra that we once again can look for somewhere to have a few days meet up. If Karen goes to Spain to visit Val maybe we could hire one of the villas near by when someone gone for visit in the UK or so, like house sitting for a week Lol I have so many wishes in my head so they rolling on top of eachother at the moment hihi I hope that anyone poorly is soon feeling better. Extra hugs to Lynda and Pat.
I'm not doing much today then sitting on my barn door bum and taking it easy. Think I over did it a bit at the bbq yesterday Lol Had a great time with family and even if we sat under a big green Gazebo with the rain coming down pretty hard at times we managed to eat outdoors and play with Louis and Molly in the garden before it got a bit too chilly and we moved indoors for the coffee and pudding. Think I need a little nap, my Pet is already blowing bubbles next to me in his chair Lol
Sending love and many hugs to you all, Maria xxx

    2. Hi Maria. What a fabulous CC you have shared with us today. I love the gold and blue colour scheme too, so pretty 😊 I hope you are not feeling quite so achey after yesterday's BBQ. You were lucky to have a gazebo to shelter under, and it's always good to see the children playing isn't it 😊 Crafting has given me so many wonderful friends too. I'm so glad you had a good meeting with Sharon and hope you get to meet up again. It would be good to see you before Ally Pally, but then that's not far off now is it! Take care x

  8. Hello Sandra & Ladies
Hope everyone is having a good day & enjoying the sunshine if you have some.
Gorgeous display of cards today Sandra everyone different but all lovely. I'm not happy with my second card I don't like it should have binned it.Perhaps I should have used some of my Northan Lights papers 🤗🤗 Sandra.😂😂
We have some sunshine very windy though went for a walk just up the small park as my feet have been really bad all week. I'm taking all these tablets & 4 RA tablets once a week & folic acid tablet day after. But I haven't felt any better.
Terry suggested sleeping with cold wet towels on my legs & feet as they burn so much. I have been sleeping downstairs in my recliner chair now for a few weeks with a raised pillow I bought from the mobility shop not ideal but I have slept better. I have a appointment for the RA clinic on the 15th so will ask her what's what with not feeling any different. SORRY rant over.
Well better go & dish up diner as my Pet said he's hungry 🍽

    3. Hi Lynda. Your CC's are both beautiful so no more talk of binning the second one please. I'm sorry that your legs are so painful. I hope that your RA appointment gets you some help. Have you tried Glocosamine(?) tablets? They seem to either work really really well or are a total waste of time. They didn't help me at all but my aunty, Mums sister, swears by them so they may be worth a try. You can get them from anywhere that sells vitamin and similar tablets, if you havent tried them it may be worth asking your GP or at the RA clinic to see if you can get them on the NHS now. Sending gentle hugs to both you and your biggest pet. Take care x

We have had little Chris for the weekend so I'm ready for my bed now, not that he isn't good as he is but he likes to know how everything works so my simple brain gets stretched a lot and I have to pass the question onto Grandad 😉 Wishing you all a good night's sleep, or as much as possible for some of us. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
