The Oxide version of Fridays colourful card

Good Morning Ladies,

I had a quiet day yesterday, everyone was out at work, so the house was eerily quiet,  it's these days I find myself talking to the cats 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ 🤣😂,  Milo is always very 'vocal' when Paul isn't here, he clearly misses him too 🤣

I made a loaf of bread that I will bake today and then sat and did some work on my Colour Inspiration journal, I did a few blends that I  genuinely wouldn't have thought of putting together and I was quite surprised at how much I liked them.  I did them in Distress inks and oxides.

Karen I was so sorry to read about your Bowls club break in,  there are some real low lives about!!   We were chatting to the Lady in Aldi about shop lifting (as she checked our bags).  She was saying that it's a lot more common than you imagine,  she went on to say that if it was people stealing because they couldn't afford to eat they would be more understanding,  but it isn't, it's people stealing high ticket items,  joints of meat, alcohol, tools etc.            In your case those trophies are only valuable to the people that  won them, I guess they thought that they may be silver.  I hope it doesn't mean the club will have to close.

Today I am sharing the other card that I made on Friday,  comparing the difference between Distress inks and Oxides.

I love both colourways but I personally prefer the brighter colour of the Distress inks, Oxides do have their place, especially if you are using them for projects that require a softer colour way.   I have definitely used Oxides more recently with the Tracey Evans projects,  they definitely blend much easier with them having the creamier texture.

Which do you prefer???

I hope that you all have a good day,  Lucy is off today so we will pop out somewhere,  we also have someone coming later to change our 'out dated' (apparently) electric Meter to a 'Smart Meter', Paul is going to be a nightmare with the bloody thing!  🤣😂

Love & hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx

  1. Hi Sandra and all looking in. It’s good to see the difference between the inks side by side. I struggle to blend inks so the oxides are my go to ones for that but they do lack the “brightness” of the others don’t they. Such cheerful cards, perfect for the fabulous weather at the moment. Enjoy yourself on your outing with Lucy today. The tourists will be out in force won’t they! Xx
Karen, it was so sad to hear of the break in. There are some real lowlifes around aren't there xx
Maria, glad you and R had a nice little trip out xx
My day is sorted today as Chris and I are taking Pop out clothes shopping and for some lunch. Enjoy the sunny skies. Take care. Love Sue xx

  2. Both versions are pretty I don’t have many of either but my “go to” are oxides
Obviously, when layering stamps I prefer to stamp the detail one first (in black usually) and then the colour Oxides mask the black Inks don’t So have to remember to do it other way around I thought I was being clever and didn’t buy doubles of Oxides and Inks - remember- originally I was only a Serif of MCS user 🤣
The club won’t close Its made us more resilient We will have to fork out for extra security but hey ho they could have done a lot worse and nobody was hurt OH hopes that they covered in cuts and scratches from doing the dirty Enjoy your trip out with Lucy
    Take care everyone xx

  3. Hi everyone
A beautiful card . I prefer to use the inks as I like stronger colours. Haven't got that many oxides. Have a great outing with Lucy today.
Karen, so sorry to hear about the break-in, blooming people who has nothing else to do. I hope that they found the prizes.
Having a day at home. Doing some washing and we have a little freezer in the kitchen extra that needs deicing so have moved the frozen food out in the garage in the meantime. The sun is more hazy today and not so warm so perfect to do some housework as well.
Have a good day everyone and look after yourself. Hugs to you all xxx
