My First Floral Challenge card

Good Morning Ladies,

Oh it has been lovely to not spend the day shivering, much milder now thankfully, all though it was raining most of the day.

Weigh in went well I lost 4lb so that bought a smile to my face, Paul lost 4lb too!!  I found a page that does simple exercises for people with low mobility so I am going to give that a try, well I have to do something to get this body moving a bit, although I am approaching with extreme caution.  I have ordered some light weights to use, the chap said you can use a tin of beans but I think the hand weights will be easier to hold.  We will see I guess.

Michele you must be exhausted covering your own job and helping out at the Vaccination clinic for hours, such a thoughtful, selfless thing to do, thank you on behalf of everyone my lovely. xx💗

Today's card was made yesterday afternoon, I have had the Daisy Lane SU stamp set for a while but hadn't gotten round to using it, I love it, I have the original daisy one but found the daisies quite large for standard cards, this set with matching punch is perfect. The thing I love the most about the set though is the fern stamp, I am a real sucker for a greenery stamp!

The punch fits the smaller of the two daisies in this set, look at that lovely fern stamp though!!

Anyway for my card I stamped the fern stamp in Old Olive ink four times to create a foliage base for my daisies, I then stamped the daisy stamp six times on white card using Highland Heather ink and then punched them out and added Pink Frog flower pollen to the centres.  I used an old spellbinder ornate label die to give some lift to the flowers and a place to pop my sentiment tag.  I arranged the three daisies (double up) and then used various dies to cut some leaves and extra foliage out of Mossy Meadow card.  The sentiment is from a Julie Hickey stamp set called Friendship Flower, I stamped it in Highland heather and fussy cut and placed it onto a die cut Tim Holtz Tag die, I added a little bow in matching ribbon.  Now I struggled at first with the amount of 'white space' left on the card, after looking at it on my desk for an hour or two though it grew on me and the white space is balanced by that busy floral arrangement.
I hope that you like it ladies.

Have a lovely day, I hope that you maybe get to do a little crafting,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what a gorgeous card, so crisp & fresh. Well done to you both on the weight loss.

I was covering the Vaccine yesterday afternoon- we don’t get a’choic. I have trained some staff & the small group of us are expected to cover the clinics. Luckily this week is just Monday-Thursday 9-5 although I was still there later than that last night! I have Wednesday morning & Thursday afternoon in the clinic which means a lots of my management work won’t get done until I’m back in the Unit.

Love today's card SANDRA.So pretty and cheerful.

MICHELE-I loved your cards yesterday. We all need to think about everyone who are taking on extra duties to help us get back on an even keel and that means ALL WHO NEVER GET THEIR FACES SHOWN ON THE FRONT LINE. WE COULD NEVER MANAGE WITHOUT THEM SO A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO YOU ALL.

Well 'Mr Misplaced' has struck again. You remember that before Christmas we were misplacing cutting dies well I have now moved on to 'misplacing scissors'. I just cannot find my pinking shears so if anyone is using them please bring them back.lol.

The CAFE is OPEN and it's usual hours. HUGS are on their way to you all with loads of extras for all dear friends in need.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFExxxx

  3. Your card is beautiful SANDRA and congratulations on the weight loss Be careful about the exercising!
I admire all of the Health care workers (including MICHELE and SONIA) that are going that extra mile - I’d be there too volunteering but with my age and diabetes it’s too bigger risk So instead I am manning the fort of some of those that are out and about I take my hat off to the show biz personalities too that are also going out of their way to help John Barrowman was volunteering at one of our vaccination clinics I understand he does a lot of charity work and rarely gets acknowledged You never know MARIA you may get to meet him as he was in MK yesterday when it’s your turn
I was so tired yesterday and didn’t achieve much in the crafting world But I did clear the ironing!
    Take care all xx

  5. Hi Sandra & ladies
Well I’m not to sure what happened ( me being daft I think ) but instead of posting on today’s I posted it on yesterday’s.
A lovely floral card today Sandra,
It’s quite dull here today but quite mild. I’ve been for a walk and will do a few exercises before lunch. I wonder if that will help me loose a bit of weight, providing I don’t eat any chocolate. I’m making some leek & potato soup for lunch today. I’ll make enough so the I have enough to freeze some down for another day.
I think I’ll go and finish a card off as I just need to put it together.
Take care and stay safe everyonel

Hope you all feeling ok and have a good day. Hugs for you all and extras for anyone who need some. Maria xx

  7. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. Today’s card is gorgeous, love the purple green combo. Why do we struggle with white space as your card clearly proves that it works so well. I can just imagine you sitting at your desk looking at it and wondering to yourself if it is ok. I’m so glad you made the right decision 😀
Has anyone tried to make snowdrops from Foamiran/ paper/thin card? I have tried several different dies to make the three single petals needed and also tried several hand cut shapes but just can’t seem make a decent looking snowdrop. Even my old faithful friend called Pinterest hasn’t been much help. I think I am going to have to change the flowers for my challenge card I have several petals/flowers already cut from Foamiran that I can use instead anyway.
I hope you’re all ok and keeping dry if the weathers one it is here!
Michele, Karen and Sonia you are all doing your bit for the country. Well done and thank you to you all and everyone else in the background who are doing the often unseen but important jobs that are just as vital to keeping the country turning.
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx
