Something a little different...

Good Morning Ladies,

Something a little bit different from me today, I saw the Altenew Wild Fern stamps featured on a card and fell in love with them, what I didn't realise how tricky they are to line up!! They have 3 very intricate layers, some worked first time, others were just a hair out but my goodness it shows,  I totally love them though, I think they look quite realistic too.

I stamped them with Lemon-Lime Twist, Pear Pizazz and Old Olive (light to dark).  I may order some of the Altenew inks to try too, do any of you have them??
After I had stamped my three layers I then die cut the ferns with the matching dies (phew no fussy cutting)!! Lol !!
I cut my card base to 5 1/4  X 4 1/8 inch and blended some of the Pear Pizazz ink over the card base, I then sprayed a little water into the lid to mix with some Old Olive paint, loading my water brush and tapped it so that fine dots flicked over the background.

I then arranged my die cut ferns around the card, so that they overhung the edges, once they were stuck down I used my large Tim Holtz scissors to trim any die cuts overhanging the edge of the card.

To finish the card I die cut the 'Thankyou' die and layered it up, and stuck it straight onto the background.  I then stamped the 'For Your Kindness'  in versamark, added white embossing powder and heat set, I then cut this down to a small rectangle.
I think the black sentiment gives a striking look !
As I said its something different, I think its growing on me though!

I spent most of the day playing about with different things in my craft room, sadly them only thing that I made was a MESS!!   I tidied a space later on to sit and make todays card though, but will need to go in and clear away again in the morning, why am I such a messy crafter?!

Not much on the cards for me today, sadly Sue is poorly so she isn't coming over, so I will be crafting on my own, maybe I will get more done though, fingers crossed!

I hope that you all have a lovely day however you are spending it,

Special Hugs to Brenda, Pat & Pete and anyone else feeling under the weather,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

Sandra-I love your card, it’s horh. I have 2 sets of Altenew stamps with matching Dies & luckily there were pre coloured images to download with them. Next month in Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine there’s a fee set of Altenew Daffodil stamps & Dies which looks great.

I had a much better day yesterday-work was fine, called at my Dads on the way home as he’d agreed to sign paperwork for Power of Attorney for me + my brother. Restful evening not doing much.

Today we have very thick frost on top of the hail/sleet/snow from yesterday so I think I’ll be setting off very early & driving very slowly!

  2. Morning Everyone
from a very white and frosty morning here.

Fortunately we didn't get any snow yesterday so fingers crossed it stays that way.

SANDRA- a lovely card though I have to admit that I haven't seen these stamps.

Had trouble yesterday morning with the internet. It just wouldn't fire up for one reason or another. I suppose the gremlins were having a good day.
Rather noisy yesterday afternoon as the piano tuner came. It's one of those noises that really set my teetch on edge while it's being tuned but sounds beautiful when done.

I want to get my CC done today. Jim's out this morning on a hospital run so perhaps I can forge ahead.

The CAFE is OPEN so pop in for a warming drink and a chat when you can.
HUGE warming hugs are on their way to you all with extras for all Dear Friends in need. Take care and stay safe if out in the winter weather.xxxx

  3. Hi everyone,
Ooo Sandra just love this card. The leaves are so realistic. Will have to have a look out for Altenew.
Michele will look out for that magazine.

Off to crib later. Just about to phone up my gp for an appointment. It's 5 weeks now since my sciatica started and I'm still hobbling around. I'm going to ask for an x-ray just to make sure it's nothing else.

Hugs for all with daily thoughts for Pat and Pete.x

  4. It’s a beautiful card SANDRA
I have a rose set from. Altenew that was a freebie and I do find them hard to line up even with a stamping platform There must be a way of maybe inking them up with a permanent ink or something to help lining them up I love their layered dies which are on my Wish List
Sneakily doing this at work - waiting for a report to run So better sign off Will be back later Hugs to all xx

  7. Hello All, grey and dull again.

Sandra, Love your card, you had done a great job with the altanew stamps. I have several sets that I bought several years ago, no dies then, just fussy cut, which I love doing.

This cold weather and short days are really making me feel very lack lustre, did manage to make a mini bolster for my knee in bed, which I hope will help me to get some sleep ! Can but try.

    Hugs to all , Lilian

  8. Hello Sandra and ladies,
Sandra I love today’s card, you really have created something so beautiful.
Had a very full on day today this morning went to visit my sister, she is still in hospital in Leicester. To cut a very long story she needs open heart surgery, but before that has to have a bad tooth tomorrow, As it could cause an infection after the operation. She is in good form, very comfortable and cared for.
Sorry ladies I an so tired I’m off to bed. I did try to comment this morning on the train, but the signal was so poor.
I hope everyone has had a good day. Love Brenda xxx
