Your Challenge cards

Good Morning Ladies,
Your Challenge this week was to make a card using just one colour, other than Your base card colour, I used "Lemon Lime Twist' for my Challenge card, I am lucky in that I have the Ink, card, Ribbon and matching Designer Series papers That are all the same colour, which is one of the best things about
Stampin'Up! products.

Anyway let's get on and see your cards........

Karen

Four fantastic cards from Karen this week, the first is a lovely
Christmas card, I do love that background paper Karen!
Here is Karen's description for the first card:
"This card is one I made especially for the challenge and includes a free die from Papercraft Essentials. The Poinsettia and a snipped into Merry Christmas die by Sue W"
The second card is an amazing 'pesky man' card, using different shades
of blue in those lovely matching papers, a fantastic 'Happy Birthday' with a shadow behind it, making it stand out even more, another effect that you hardly notice but it adds So much detail to the card is the blue splats, I love them too!
Third card Karen made using B&Q paint charts and Spellbinders butterfly dies, fantastic idea of yours Karen that I have used myself.
The last card is a beautiful Butterfly, die cut in pink and recessed into a
Blue/Green SW Noble die cut frame with a stunning pattern paper behind .
Thank you so much Karen

Lilian

Lilian's card is so beautiful, I adore that delicately patterned
Background paper that you have used and accented with that pretty shade of yellow, the stamped main image is so pretty too,
I am intrigued to find out what you used to achieve such texture
on you flower heads!!
A gorgeous card Lilian, thank you so much!
XXX

Janet

Three stunning cards from Janet this week, the first is a beautiful, typical 'Sue' Wilson' style Card, using exclusively 'Sue Wilson' products, I have to say I kind of miss seeing Sue make her original style cards, we used to be wowed every day with the pretty bows, flowers, stick pins etc.
Janet the shades of blue in your second card are just fabulous, its almost 'electric' blue, every part of the card works perfectly, I love the guitar and that musical note, Are they dies??
I saved the 'WOW' card until last, what a stunner, I would have never of thought it using the 'Silouhette' die cut in white on a white background but omg it works beautifully, I'm not sure what the edge dies are, I thought maybe Crafters Companion but I'm sure You'll put me right!! An absolutely exquisite card Janet, Thank you so much
XXX

Val

Val, absolutely love your card, you could use it for either a male or Female, which in itself is unusual but perfect when you are selling your cards on the scale that you do.
Once again you have me desperate to know what that amazing
Embossing folder is that you have used, I love it and you have
acheived such a deep crisp emboss too, it makes me want to scream...
"I Want a GEMINI" please!!! 😉😉
Thank you Val for taking part.

 Michele

Michele, it's so unusual to see you use pink, I absolutely love your card, everything works beautifully together, the paper you have used is so Pretty and you have accented it perfectly with that bright pink Spellbinders Frame, the image you have used is delightful, although I couldn't imagine Our two cats so close together without a little scrap!
Thank you so much
XXX

Lynda

Lynda has gone for the classic and beautiful 'White' on White'
for her Challenge card this week, I love the pretty frame you have
used Lynda, the stunning white Butterfly and pretty pearls are the
perfect finishing touch.
Thank you so much Lynda
XXX

Margaret

Margaret has made two beautiful cards this week, the first has that stunning die cut topper, wow it's amazing, so detailed and delicate, Stampin'Up! Vertical Greetings for the sentiment, what an amazing card!
The second card uses the beautiful Stampin'Up! flourish stamp, such an incredible stamp it really needs nothing else and makes a perfect 'Sympathy ' card.
Two beautiful cards Margaret, thank you so much.
XXX

Well, what can I say ladies!? You absolutely aced this challenge, some
absolutely stunning cards again this week, you are all so amazing.
Sunday's are the highlight of my week on the blog, I love seeing and sharing
all of your cards.

Sending love and hugs to all,

Sandra

  2. Hi Sandra and all,

Another Sunday of gorgeousness. All beautiful and all based on one colour. Great imagination. A pat on the back for everyone. I wonder what tomorrow's challenge will bring.
Sandra. The embossing folder is a 4inch by 3inch magazine freebie I got years ago but my Gemini does bring it to love. Every home should have a Gemini. I love it.

Lynn saw 2 cars she liked at the same show room so is going back tomorrow to test drive the both. Paul is going with her as I'm out for lunch tomorrow.

Off out for lunch as well today. Don't know where yet.

PAT I hope Pete has stopped scratching and is feeling better today.xxx

  3. Morning Everyone
OHHHHHHHHHHH what a beautiful set of Challenge Cards this week. All expertly created and all with a lot of love.

SANDRA- My Blue Guitar card doesn't have a die anywhere on it. It's a 'Craft U Print' design which I bought years ago and I use it quite a lot when I have to have a card for a young man.
The Guitar and Treble Clef are fussy cut from an extra print I took so I can give some dimension to the card.
The Grey card is made up of Crafter's Companion Edge'Ables 5.2" x1.9" 'Delicate Trellis'. I just cut two pieces of card one being a little smaller than the other and set one on top of the other. The Cameo lady and Oval is from Joanna Sheen.

We are out today at my Youngest Daughter' Birthday BBQ. She is 50 today so all the family will be there along with others. At the moment we have blue skies with a little sun but quite a wind so we have everything crossed that the rain stays away.

The CAFE is OPEN but there's no Lunch Menu today.
Have a good day everyone whatever you all have planned. HUGS are on their way to you all. xxxx

  4. Morning Ladies

What a fantastic selection of challenge cards, all so different and so lovely. Karen-I love the male card-I might just copy that idea if that's ok??
Late comment from me-had a lovely lie in then checked out the blogs I visit then forgot to comment!

We have sunshine here with a slight breeze-quite different to yesterday. Strong winds & heavy rain in showers-didn't stop me getting to the craft show. I bought 2 Sue Wilson Christmas Dies that were reduced and a mini alphabet set of Dies. Got a couple of packs of card blanks including the 5x7 tent fold ones I'd been after. Went back to my in-laws and had a cuppa then battled through the traffic to get home. Hoping to have a play in my craft room sometime today.

    1. Help yourself I'd feel honoured I used a blue mister to create the background and took 3 pieces of "material" into Serif but your lovely cd's would work too and changed the colour to blue I cut the tags with SW Pierced flags and I know you have the sentiment or equally as good a one It'sca really easy card to do AND I have done the same one but used a football club's colours!

  5. Hi Sandra and ladies
What can I say about this weeks dards except stunning stunning stunning.
I must say that I simply love Janets edgeable card in white, and the blue electric guitar is simply amazing. I must say Janet. I've looked at the craft u print site but have never seen anything that takes my fancy. Then you come along with yours and I simply love them. But I expect they don't do those any more. Love Karen's idea using different coloured papers to make a card. I think I've done something similar years ago. But I've got 4 make cards to do for Sept so might borrow that idea as well Karen. Must say I think the flourish that Margaret has used is lovely also the framed card as well. Nothing else is required.
Love the frame you've used Lynda and also Michele's frame with the cats. My daughter would love them.
I also love the embossing folder you've used Val.
Also love the flowers and delicate background Lilian has used.
I hope your feeling better today Lilian and also Maria.
Well I think Pete has learnt his lesson re his eye and at the moment it seems to be coming along nicely.
I must admit he has no interest in doing anything at the moment and seems quite down. I helped him cut the bottom lawn yesterday and is trimmed around the edges, but he didn't feel up to doing the smaller lawn at the top of the garden.
We're off to lunch with Doreen at 12.00, he's out for breakfast tomorrow with his mate Pat and hopefully out for lunch with friends on Wed. Every other day will be hospital visits for his treatments, bloods for his kidneys and liver, plus CT scan and a Bobe Scan. So hopefully between hospital visits we can all try and cheer him up.
Hugs to all who need one today.
Hope the weather stays fine for the BBQ Janet.

Once again it was nice enough to sit out at Thrupp to watch all the Canal boats going through and under the bridge. Laughed at how a couple didn't know how to work the electric bridge lift even though it tells you what to do. Good job another boat was going through as well. The gentleman showed her what to do and then showed them how to fill up with water etc.

  10. Afternoon all,
Have been up and down so many times because I just have to look back at all the wonderful cards that are on display today, well done all of you !
Lilian- hope you are ok and will have a nice day with the grandchildren. Love your card, like to know how you made it. hugs
Lynda- lovely card , white on white always look so nice but when I make it myself, it looks horrid Lol Hope Arthur is behaving and not making you feel in too much pain, many hugs to you and Capt. Underpants.
Cheryl- hope you have a nice weekend or are you still in the under the stairs cupboard ? Have you found something interesting ?
Home alone today after seeing my friend this morning and as we both done ok at ww we went for breakfast and to celebrate we had a cake ea, hihi I can now move my shoulder much easier and in less pain and my knee is still a bit sore but okay unless you bang it going into the car (ouch!). One problem I got are the stockings I have to wear, they are very tight and makes my legs itch really bad so hopefully I can take them off soon-ish. Hope to have the stitches out next week. Heard from Son yesterday, they having a great time. Were camping in the forest up North somewhere in Norway, playing UNO in his tent in pouring rain Lol to be young ,ey
Tried to make a box card yesterday but got the sizing completely wrong so will give it a go again later. Anyone got an easy version of it ?
Hope you all have a nice day, missing friends(hope to see you back soon ) love Maria xxx

    2. What do you use to make envelopes?
What about Sandra's tutorial about - ooh what was it called - gift bag from an envelope...,?

    3. Hi Maria
Perhaps take Karen's idea, or perhaps look on Utube. They have tutorials on most card designs.
I'm glad son is enjoying his holiday. Sounds like we used to do play UNO in a rent, but ours was in the UK.
I'm glad your not feeling to bad at the moment. Hope the stockings come off soon.
I go to the hospital tomorrow for them to look at the lump in the middle of my psoriasis. It's really getting in the way now and catches on everything. I'm hoping they'll take it off, and soonish.

  11. Hello Sandra and everyone,
I commented earlier and managed to publish my comment twice! So tried to delete the second one, blogger was saying the comment was deleted but when I looked it was still there, so I tried again.... twice, it was still there looking back at me, so light bulb moment..... I tried to delete the first published comment.......WRONG!!!! it then deleted both comments, I'm not given to swearing but used very strong language in total frustration.

MARIA thank you for your thoughtful comment, as you have probably gathered I didn't chill out. But did calm myself by repotting some orchids. Not sure if it's the right time to do this, but it was the right time for me, as least it calmed me down.

Sundays is such an inspiring day to open your blog Sandra, and today's is proof of that. Every card is a work of art, also a great kickstart to anyone's sleepy Mojo. Sorry am keeping this short as it's time to get the dinner on.

I hope everyone has had a good day.

    Hugs Brenda xxx

  12. Hi Michele
Just thought I'd let you know I bought the second set that you bought. I thought they looked quite like the labels that Sandra has. The works had some great 6x6 Origami papers that would be great for 6x6 cards at £1.50 plus 12x12 Christmas papers. Double sided as well. Shame I didn't like a lot of them.

  13. Hi Sandra and all in the Café tonight. After another 3 attempts to leave a comment I am not a happy bunny! 1 I deleted by mistake but the other two are off into cyber space somewhere!
I must to say that I love all of your CC's. I have yet to make a mono coloured card but I have lots of ideas after looking at these beautiful cards.
Sorry I didn't get in yesterday, but I want to say a very big THANK YOU for all of the good wishes to us and to Tim and Roz. Their wedding day was wonderful, but tinged with sadness that Pop wasn't well enough to join us. Isn't life cruel sometimes. Him missing was the only a low point and even the torrential rain that started as we came out of the registers office didn't spoil it!!! Let's just say that most of the photos show us all looking like drowned, but very happy, rats 😁😁😁 I will send Sandra a picture when we have looked at them all. None of us took many at all as the rain was so hard, we all left it to the official photographer and his waterproof(?) camera. It was a beautiful day none the less 😊😊😊
I will close now and hopefully be able to comment properly tomorrow. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lilian, Maria and all in need. Take care xx

  14. Hi Sandra & ladies
We have had a very busy day but a sad start Bambie started breathing very heavy & chocking she worried us as that was the same sort of thing Annie had. Terry took her to the vet this morning they open for one hour on a Sunday from 11am 12 noon. She did looke very sad any way the vet said she had a lung infection which was putting a strain on her heart. Gave her two injections Her breathing is a lot better at the moment. But she is defentley not herself .
Then we had Darren Sam & Harry down for dinner had a lovely afternoon Harry was in a loving mood which was nice he sat on my lap &showing me his transformers he said I love you Nanny & gave me a kiss.so that cheered me up.
I must say ladies I loved each & every one of your cards all stunning.
Mine didn't show up my stamped background I stamped & embossed in white. But couldn't capture it.
Any way my friends I'm going to bed now as shattered
    Love Lynda xxx
