Something Festive for Friday

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Can you believe a week of our holiday has gone already?!
I hope that you are all well and that the weather is being kind to you.

There are about 18 weeks left until Christmas, so that means we have about 12 weeks left to get all of our Christmas cards made and ready to post!! Which isn't really that long, so I will start to feature a Christmas card each week from now on to inspire you to get started with yours, I may miss one week while I'm away but will begin properly when I get home.

Today's card was made using the lovely 'Star Of Light' Stampin'Up stamp set and matching Thinlits. I die cut the star into a piece of 'Very Vanilla' card and then created a 'Fresh Fig' matt to fit behind it, I made a pencil mark around the aperture and stamped and Embossed the matching stamp into the marked area, using Gold Embossing Powder.
I then stamped the two gold flourishes and the sentiment onto the 'Very Vanilla ' topper and made a border out of Fresh Fig card with the Ribbon Border Punched out of Gold Glitter card, I ran some narrow Fresh Fig ribbon through the border and finished it with a bow.  I die cut a star from Glitter card to dress my bow.
I hope my card has inspired you to think about your Christmas cards, although I know Val has been busy making them for a while!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend ladies, if any of you have anything to share for Mixed Up Saturday, please send me a photo.

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Hi Sandra and all in the Café today. A quick hi before the happy madness starts 😊
I love this elegant Christmas card, such a beautiful star, flourishe and sentiment.
I hope you all had a great time on the beach. How did paddle boarding go? And the crutches? If they were rubbish I will get Chris back on it 😊
Sending love and hugs to you all. Take care xx

  2. Morning Ladies

Sandra-your card is stunning, love it.

Had a brilliant day yesterday at the Flower Show. The only thing I bought was drinks for us during the day. We watched a cooking demonstration & sampled some foood & unusual drinks. Saw some amazing garden designs. We had sunshine all day which makes all the difference

Today we have very heavy rain & it's quite windy-I'm nipping to Tesco then settling myself in my craft room all day. I need to check my craft shopping list as I'm going to the Sincerely Yours craft show tomorrow.

    1. Hi Michele
I'm glad you enjoyed the flower show and the weather was kind to you. It's just a shame that we don't seem to have a prolonged bout of warmish weather this year. Enjoy you day out at the sincerely yours show. Keep thinking I might have a trip to the new Crafters Companion shop that opening soon.

  3. Good Morning Sandra and ladies,
so lovely to see such a pretty Christmas card today Sandra. Just love the star and the colour you've used. Hope you're managing getting to the beach on your new improved crutches. Did Paul master the board?

SUE have a wonderful time today. Hope the weather stays fine and looking forward to seeing some photos. MARGARET. Enjoy your day.xxx

LYNDA Gracie doesn't like being clipped as it's done in that awful place called a 'Vets' and they do unspeakably horrible things to her there. She loves getting in the car and going but I have to drag her to the vets door and she cries and shakes all the time.Really sad but she forgets easily I hope.

Off to Craft Club later after its been closed for two weeks. Looking forward to seeing all the girls again and all the chatting.

Another terrible terrorist attack last night. I think it was inevitable that Spain was eventually targeted. I really thought it would be Benidorm rather than Barcelona. Those poor people. What a nightmare experience. My heart goes out to them.

MARIA hope everything went ok yesterday and you're not too sore today. Xxx

Hugs to all poorly friends especially Maria, Pat and Cheryl.

    Enjoy your day everyone xxx

    1. Hi Val
I bet Gracie was pleased when she came out of the vets. Karen hates taking her dog George to the vets as he goes mental. He would attack the vet and the nurse even with a muzzle on. So Keith gives the dogs a hair cut, and only take him when it's very necessar. Which isn't very often thank goodness. Karen would have made a fantastic vet as she can do anything with animals but didn't want to go to University.
Enjoy your craft day today. I certainly miss Sandra when she's away.

  4. Morning Everyone
First My thoughts and prayers are with all in Barcelona today after that horrible attack yesterday. When will the world wake up and realise that MORE IS ACHIEVED BY PEACE THAN WAR.

SANDRA- a beautiful Seasonal card for us today and it definitely fits in with my 'less is more' ideas.
I have to say that I've made a start on my cards for this year as I'm determined that I wasn't going to be so stressed as I was 2016.

SUE- have a wonderful day and I hope the Sun God visits all day.

MARIA- I hope all went well yesterday and that you're not in too much discomfort.

CHERYL- How are you? You're missed this week.

VAL- enjoy Craft Club today. I hope it's not too hot for you.

Well it's Friday again and it doesn't seem two minutes since Mr Tesco was delivering on Monday morning so it's that very dirty word housework for me today.

The CAFE is OPEN as usual so pop in for a look and a chat.
HUGS are on their way to you all. xxxx

    1. Hi Janet
I hope the sun is shining where you are today. I'm hoping to get some ironing done today unless I get distracted. I need to make some cards as well but I'm not sure they'll be Christmas related.

  7. Hi Sandra and ladies.
Sandra I can't believe you've been away for a week. Love today's card but as you know I got to see this one in the flesh as well. A great stamp I must say.
How did the Arachne start work out on the sand and did Paul master the paddle board.
Once again terrorists have struck but in Barcelona this time. Religion creates monsters, we're all human beings regardless of our religion. We should all be able to live together. I'm not sure you can talk to these people. They seem to take pleasure in murdering people.

    1. Hi Lynda
Petes eye isn't as sore today and no he's not really a good patient. Tends to grumble, I'm just glad he didn't have to stay in hospital as he'd be worse then. Hugs to both you and Terry. Hope we see you both in September.
