Guest Designer Janet !!!!!!!

Good Morning Ladies,
Well just look at this stunning card from Janet, what a joy it would be to open a box and see this gorgeous card.
I hope Janet will be calling in later to tell us how she created this beautiful card.
Sorry for my absence this afternoon and evening, we had another eye hospital appointment for Lucy today (not made by the school this time), we had another appointment and we saw a Senior Orthoptist who after examining Lucy extensively, concluded that Lucy had no 'Fusion Processing' which is where the brain uses both of the eyes together at the same time to give 3 dimensional view.
This usually happens If you have had a brain injury, which Lucy clearly hasn't, we then had to wait another 4 hours to see a consultant who just confirmed what the orthoptist had said and has made an appointment for further tests in a months time.
We got to the hospital at 2.30 and left at 7.15pm, what a frustrating, afternoon and now we have been left waiting for answers, this orthoptist has said that all of the exercises and occluded lenses had all been a waste of  time as it is nothing to do with the muscles, so we have  been waiting for months and been given the wrong information all along!  It could literally scream!
Then last night I got a call from a totally distraught Becca who after going out with her friend for a movie and then a coke at the pub, as she was leaving two men followed them out of the pub demanding that she be their 'taxi' she obviously said no and got in her car, so the two men started throwing beer glasses at her car, smashing them on her windows and trying to lift her car with her in it as she had locked herself in! Felt so helpless stuck here, just to add to the stress Paul is away!
Not one of my best days lets just say!
Hopefully you lovely lot will help get me through this day, its going to be a tough one!
Love and hugs

  3. Oh Sandra, what can I say? All that waiting around, tests etc to be told everything was a waste of time? Do these folk not know what they are doing??? Then to add to your stress the phone call from Becca!!! She must have been terrified,, and for them to do that to a young girl in her car, what's this world coming too? Becca will not want to go out at night iif she thinks it's going to happen again!!! No not a good day for you. I hope you helped yourself to some of those ((((((hugs))))))
Janet your card is stunning, aren't striplets so wonderful to work with, I love your flowers and embellisments too, it's just gorgeous.
Well ladies I see you had another night of fun in the coffee shop! I gave up and went to bed, as my head was spinning from you lot, I thought you were all going to be good yesterday, but I can see that doesn't last long? Was it that Barbara bringing in the wine?? Or did I get that wrong? As I said my head was spinning and I couldn't work things out, then again that happens most nights. Into work early today, but should be finished by 6. Anna's piano lesson has been changed to tomorrow, Anna is at a school that finishes at lunch time on a Friday so her piano teacher suggested we moved from 5-6.15 Thursday to 2.30-3.45 Friday's, yes everyone agree it would be better, yes till it effects mother when I am away next Friday, oh I see trouble again? Jen the groom is doing the school runs next Friday and is happy to drop off and pick up for piano, but we will wait and see. I don't care in a way I will be enjoy myself with big sister in Belfast. I have got to the stage that I just ignore and get on with what I know works for the girls. Plus if the housekeeper can be in for 6 hours and does very little and gets away with it. I now just walk round, over and ignore the mess, shoes, boots, dirty washing etc saying NOT MY JOB!!!
I will catch up later, I have switched everything on ready for you all to help yourselves as I think poor Sandra needs a rest as I can imagine she hasn't slept a wink all night.
Any way I am off to defrost my car.

  4. OMG Sandra! You poor girl, poor Becca and Lucy, I do hope both girls are okay? Did Becca phone the Police? Not that they would do much but they should be reported, just drunken yobs by the sounds of them she did right to lock herself in her car despite what they did afterwards, no one came to her rescue either?
Hospitals moan about costs and no money to treat patients and yet they waste time like they have, make me wonder if some of these are actually qualified? To wait all those months for nothing and now having to wait again must be so annoying and you Sandra, I feel for you because you have got to be so strong today for both your girls, try and take time out for you.

Beautiful card Janet, love the design.

    Love & Hugs

    1. Hi Sam, I can't wait to see it live. I've seen the film which was fabulous. Ive also seen Les Miserable in London also fab. I love music, my dad was a tenor so I grew up in a home filled with music, everything from Sinatra to Beethoven and Mario Lanza. Opera is my absolute favourite though and I can still hear my dad belting out arias on a Sunday morning. Happy days.

  6. Morning ladies, glad some of you are up early!

Janet a beautiful card with a real lacy feel to it. Those striplets are gorgeous!

Sandra, sorry your day was so bad. Becca must have been terrified. Don't start me on waste in the nhs, I work in it, am no economist but I could save a fortune!

My uncle died yesterday lunchtime at peace finally. Sure he's having a pint with two that have gone before! RIP.

Michelle, I hope your friend is comfortable. Awful disease with no respect for anything or anyone. We should all live for the moment xxx

Should do some cleaning today but craft room calling. Have really enjoyed being able to spend time crafting this week and still need to do a bag!

Will call back later with your daily supplies of HRT and tena pads! Thanks for letting me know what I am in for! Have started to lose my reading vision, glasses on end of nose to be able to read! That's bad enough but you lot have made it worse with your tales of menopausal woah! Thanks ladies!

    See you soon xxx

Had my tea & toast and still in my dressing gown-the joy of being off work!

Beautiful card from Janet, can't wait to find out how she made it, especially the gorgeous flowers.

Sandra-your day sounds like a disaster. Let's hope today is much better. Such a shame about the hospital, its annoying when appointments don't go to plan but where would we be without the NHS?! I hope your older daughter got home safely in the end.

Off to see the in-laws this morning (they live in Chorley) so not too far from us. I have two bags of crafty stuff for my M in L as she loves to make cards. Will do the Tesco shopping after lunch , well thats the plan!

  8. Good morning ladies,
What a day and evening you had Sandra, I hope Becca did inform the police, she must have been so frightened poor love. I do hope she is feeling alright today. Your hospital visit must have also been worrying for you, let's hope Lucy gets some better treatment once she has had her next tests.
Try to keep calm today Sandra love, we are all here for you.

Janet, what a lovely, lovely card. It looks so very elegant with its flowers and stick pins as a beautiful focal element. I have this Striplet as well and it does make a stunning background. Thank you for letting us see it.
I need to make a get well card today for a friend of mine but don't know where to start, it's not the card that's the problem, it's my craft space, it looks like a disaster area. I am such a messy crafter. I'll just help myself to cup of breakfast tea and a toasted teacake, go and sit in the corner and have five minutes before I tackle it.

  9. Good morning Sandra and all the lovely ladies .
You see it's not me who causes trouble, there I was AWOL yesterday and it was still raucous in here and no one missed me! Lol.
Sue I feel for you doing the 120 mile trips to school and uni, drive carefully. We went to stay at mother in laws Tuesday night as she is an hour from bath. We set of early , decided to drive rather than go by train as Jean knows the way and often goes there. Hit roadworks about 10 minutes outside of bath so followed diversion which took us so out of the way and added at least half an hour to the journey. Had a lovely day at the university though and by the time we left it was drizzling and misty and took 2 hours to get back to Jeans. It was gone 10 by the time Emma and I got home so it was a long day. I've just helped myself to a cup of tea so I can sit down for a minute or two, I've put the money in the pot .
Janet your card is gorgeous and what lovely soft colours. Thank you for sharing.
Margaret I hope Tomas is feeling a bit better today, oh what a naughty sister he has, I hope her tummy isn't too bad this morning. Xxx
Sam you are so clever remembering everyone, have you got us all written down with a family tree? Hope you have a lovely day. Xxx
Saba so glad your sister has settled back at home, I know you must be really looking forward to seeing her. Xxx
Alison I've left you a little post sending you a hug after hearing about your uncle. Sorry I didn't get round to congratulating you on your die win yesterday. Xxx
Sandra oh what a day you had and what an awful experience for your daughter. At least she was sensible and locked herself in the car. If she does report it to the police perhaps the pub car park has got CCTV cameras so they can identify the men. I hope it doesn't stop her going out in the car. Xxxx
Cheryl don't over do it today with the painting. It will be lovely to get your craft room finished but not so you are too worn out to use it. Xxxx
Norah Guiness! It came to me as I read your comment yesterday, when I had Emma I drunk a Guinenss a day to help my iron levels. You get the taste for it eventually and it is supposed to be good for you! Xxx
Michele I'm sending you a big hug too my sweetheart, I hope your friend is pain free and comfortable, so sad as he only sounds young. Life is very unfair isn't it.xxx
Joanna lovely to see you in here, I'm the quiet shy one who never causes trouble and would certainly never call Maureen Muriel ! I have such respect for all the Alder members of the gang and often tidy up the smalls they leave drying on the radiator overnight. I haven't been here long and on the first day I locked Maria/ Myra in overnight but they let me back in! Xxx
Wendy good to see you have become one of the gang xxx
Lynda hope your droopy bits are ok today ! Xxx
Patricia and Hazel hope you are both ok today, sounds like you have busy days being grandmas , but I hope you have fun. Xxx

Lynda, what about a bit of elastic, then if your droopy bits start bouncing again it won't put too much stress on your ears, that will probably be best and it will keep the tenna nice and snug into the bargain.
Hazel, you weren't so quiet yesterday when you were screaming your head off leaping over the spring boxy horsey thing.

    6. Hi Maria Jean is my mother in law, but just to confuse things her mother is also called Jean! Yes Emma has had an offer from several universities for September and we are now going around to see the departments in more detail and she can talk to existing students and get a feel of places with students there. When we went in the summer there were a few students helping out but you didn't see it action. She likes the look of Bath which is about 2 hours away but also aberdeen (2 hour flight away!) and Edinburgh ( again a flight away). She has to put her first choice down by May and then get the grades she needs!

Morning Everyone - I've helped myself to my usual and money's in the dish.
Oh my dear Friend Sandra what a day from hell you had yesterday. I know we're all grateful for the medical help we get when we're ill but sometimes it beggers belief that Consultants get it so wrong. Lucy must be absolutely shattered to hear that the last months have been a waste of time and you as Mum has to be devastated hearing that really you're back at square one. And then to cap it all Becca has to put up with drunken hooligans who think that they can do anything they want and will get their way because it's a young lady who they expect to give in to them. I take my hat off to Becca by showing them that they aren't dealing with a helpless young lady but someone who knows exactly what to do by getting in her car; locking herself in and being very brave even though she was terrified. I know that comes from you and Paul and the way you have brought your children up. I too think the incident should be reported to the Police. I hope she is OK this morning.

OK so my card - It's an 8"x8" card blank as usual covered by a piece of paper from an A4 pad I bought from the one and only craft shop in Never. The colours of the pad are muted beige, red and blue and has the theme of all French icons printed on it. As this card is for one of our French friends in Brittany I thought it appropriate.
I used the Eternal Rings striplet die and then backed each piece with Silver Gilding Flakes.I then fastened each piece with double sided foam tape and also used Creative Expressions dries clear glue to make sure they did not come off when the card is handled.
I used Sue's Caribbean St Barts die as the base of my focal element.
I made a small arrangement of flowers using one medium sized rose for the centre and then tiny rose buds around it (I take no credit what so ever for these flowers as I always buy them off the net and make sure I have a good stock I usually buy white flowers and then I can colour them by using Pro Markers to give me any colour I want. I really don't want to make my crafting difficult because then all the fun goes out of my crafting and buying these flowers takes the hassle and pain away so I can continue to craft).
I used both Petite and Grand Vinery dies to behind the flowers.
A double bow in cream Seam Binding topped with a bow of those wonderful small String of Pearls from Creative Expressions.
To complete the look I made two stick pins using Sue's beads and bought from that lovely JGD Craft shop.
The card should now by in France ready to open on Sunday which is Bernadette's birthday - if she can wait that long!! lol.

I hope you like my effort. Sandra thank you for showcasing my card. I hope you have a much better day dear Friend.

OK my wonderful Sisters I'm ready for today - under wear drawer full to bursting and ready to wear along with other necessaries lol.

I've left my hugs -one size fits all- in the basket by the door. Please help yourselves. See you later. Janet xxxx

Michele I also wanted to say what a long wait your husband has got to hear the news about his job and then they expect him to go to Scotland after telling him! I know it is good policy not to tell people they are being made redundant on a Friday but giving everyone a date to look forward too isn't good! When my husband was made redundant a few years ago he was put on leave straight away. He was only out of work for a few months but it was a very worrying time . I will be thinking of you on Monday. Xxx
I loved the Rowan berry comments yesterday, my MILhas one growing by her gate and apparently it is to keep witches out and is a Scottish tradition? They look so colourful but oh the mess.
Well I hope you lot are going to behave yourselves today - that was a silly thing to say wasn't it! That's never going to happen. Brenda didn't they cheer you up yesterday by telling you what's in store! I'm not quite there yet but oh boy does it sound fun! I know if you go into holland and Barrett they can recommend stuff, I think Jean used to rub thyme oil on her arms or something. Xxx
Oh Maureen what are you like with your lovely husband tightening your shaft and pushing you downstairs! My dad used to help my mum and would end up causing more trouble. My aunt made me laugh the other week. She was helping my uncle put a bean net over something quite tall and as she threw the net up in the air it caught her glasses and took them straight off her head. Well like me she is very short sighted and uncle is loosing his sight very badly so between the two of them they were hunting around for hours! My aunt had just got the glasses and had spent a small fortune on them so she wasn't going to leave them where they were so they just kept on feeling around! They must have looked so comical and she said they were both laughing about it. I did ask her why she didn't ring her son or me, I would have gone to help them look! Anyway she eventually found them hanging from the netting in front of her but after looking for several hours they both had to go in for a cup of tea and a rest ( probably a loo trip too!!!!) . They are always getting up to mischief but then my other aunt and uncle do too! My cousin and I laugh because we have a fear of turning out to be just like our mums but I think the genes are already there! Oh yes my MIL said yesterday she reminded her mum the doctor was visiting her on Friday morning to which she replied 'what's she coming for?' . She's going to do a memory test on her so that's a good start!!!!
Oh ladies I really must get on and not sit around here chatting all day. Have a lovely day everyone, no dancing just yet Pat. See you later love Diane xxxx

I was once working in the resting theatre and we had a lady having hers tightened because her husband wasn't happy with the way thing were. I'd have bloody divorced him. We laughed though because the gynaecologist was a woman herself and she said she was tempted to put a few few extra stitches In and stop his fun altogether. Xxx

  13. Hello Sandra,
What a truly shocking day you and your girls had yesterday. I kept wondering where you were and wondered if our banter was getting a bit out of hand. Please let me know if you don't want all the frivolity.
Lucy has surely been messed about. I know we would be in a sorry state without the NHS, my parents paid an insurance each week to make sure we could see a doctor when needed, but sometimes I despair at the stories I hear, and the c*ck ups that have happened to us.
Now, good for Becca, if she'd let the morons into her car goodness knows what could have happened. She could have been mugged or worse. She's one bright girl who has her wits about her. Please tell her that I admire her greatly.
JANET - what can I say, this is gorgeous, beautiful and any other word you wish to use. You're welcome to send me a birthday card like that any time the spirit moves you.
Cheryl, I'm dying to see the photos of your new Craft Room, x.
I'm going now to read the rest of the comments from last night.
GEORGE - Now ladies, I may be giving you the wrong impression of my beloved husband, who is really the most caring, loving, honest, gentleman you could ever wish to meet. Just DON'T go near him if you are in a wheelchair, on crutches or sticks and whatever you do DON'T go in front of him on a "down" escalator, or behind him on an "up" one. Therein lies a tale ..........

My Pete sounds just like your George. He's just not good with me being incapacatated. I kept Sandra and Sue so amused when he was trying to open some fish. To say the air was blue is an understatement. He gets so get up over absolutely nothing. I'm re training him to do some ironing. Wish me luck. Through having cancer he had to retire earlyat 58 yrs ago, and it's still all ongoing. I've been to the Dr's yesterday and he tried to shut me in the door. Aren't you in yet, was the call when I said hey hang on a minute.

I moan and get on to my Charlie, but really I do have a good easy life, he puts up with a lot from me? He's not good when I am ill, I fact he just forgets I am there. But sometimes that's better than being over fussed with. Do you now plan your days out to avoid escalators??? Hazel x

  16. Morning Sandra, this is my second try first went off into cyber space when I tried to publish, cant remember all the things I said.
First of all what a hellish day you has, what a shame Lucy had to go thought all that, sometimes I think the doctors don't know what they are doing, hopefully she will get things sorted out.
Poor Becca's, she must have been terrified, good thing she locked herself in her car, the pub car park should have CCTV, so it might be a good thing to report it to the police, it is not too late.
I made my first Izzy bag yesterday, but big mistake, I cut the striplet die out on the flap bit, and should have just cut the edge of the striplet, then cut the striplet out altogether and stuck it on, hey ho we learn by our mistakes or CRAFT moments. Will have another go today.
Sandra you take it easy today and look after yourself, the coffee shop ladies will take care of it for you and let you know about all the naughty things that are going on. Catch you all later, Jess x

  18. Hi Sandra
Firstly what a horrendous day you have yesterday, what with Lucy and then Becca. I'm at a loss to understand how two different Drs can look at the same thing and see two different things. Is it the way they're trained or what. Perhaps the higher consultant just has more experience. Hopefully you can ask to see if he's available to see you when you go next month. I know that works in the Cancer outpatients. You normally just get whoever is next in line on the Dr's rota, but if the top Dr was available you could ask to see him. You might have to wait a bit longer, but perhaps the organ grinder rather than the oily rag is better in this case. Poor Becca, I do hope she did inform the police what happened, this is why we need MORE POLICE ON THE STREETS rather than sat in offices or driving around in police cars. Now I'm not knocking the police at all the the higher ups. Why can't we have people with some common sense running these establishments rather than the idiots we have in control now. It's happening every where now. You look at something or plans and think, what idiot thought of that. My god better give Steph back her soap box. My knickers are dry today, but if hubby doesn't take some of the dry ones upstairs for me or go into the bottom draw in our bedroom, I'll be knicker less soon. I keep asking, but he's no doing. Wonder if I'll get a pay rise when I'm back to normal, well I use the word normal loosely there ladies. Oh no I forgot I don't get paid for housework. To be fair though Pete's domain is the vacuuming and washing. Mind you the ironing is piling up though.
My word Janet thought I'd never get round to your gorgeous card that you've made for us today. Such a stunner. I love how you've created this, so thanks so much for sharing. You are all such a talented bunch.

    1. Hi Pat, I did email you last night, but I was in quite a state so I may not have pressed send! I was so upset because when Becca first called she was screaming 'mum' which made me go cold and feel sick, I thought she had crashed her car, but she called me as the 'attack ' was going on, she was sat licked in her car while these two idiots were rocking her car and reaching down trying to tip it over, which must have been bloody terrifying, her friend managed call the police who came quite quickly, the two idiots ran off, but they had left their DNA on the car, as they had cut themselves while smashing beer glasses on her windows, the police did catch them sometime later, Becca rang me several times as things were happening, Paul is in Cambridge so I am sat here totally useless to her, I would have given anything to get in the car and get to her and hold her in my arms to calm her down!
Today she has had a good look at her car, there are a few scratches, but nothing major, thankfully, they idiots have admitted it and agreed to pay for the damage, but how long that will take us anyone's guess!
Lucy's appointment was pretty much as traumatic, how on earth they couldn't have diagnosed this condition months ago I beyond me, we just happened to get a Senior Orthoptist this time who after a few of the usual tests started shaking her head in disbelief, she the just said that all the exercises, funny lenses etc,etc gad been a waste of time as her Brain is what's causing the problem, it's not taking what both eyes see and turning into one 3d image, this us why she is seeing double and has been both before and after last years surgery, it's worrying me tremendously as if they can't find this point at which her brain does process the images into one 3d view. We are kind of stuck! What is concerning me is why? This problem is usually as a result of brain injury, which Lucy hasn't had! Oh I don't know to be honest, every time I think about it it makes me cry so, I need to change the subject, where us that husband of mine when I need him!
Bring on the fun girls, I need a distraction!

    3. Sandra just read you 12pm blog, so glad Becca's friend managed to phone the police, hopefully things will get back to normal soon for you all.
Sometimes it seems a waste of time phoning the police, but if no one does it then the statistics for crime are wrong, ie we have no vandalism/break-ins/drugs etc., and the police numbers are depleted, that is why we should be reporting all crimes however small.
I know sometimes what is the point nobody comes, but at least the call is logged. Getting off my soapbox now.
Off to short out a few Izzy bags, doing it right this time. Do you close the flap, I was thinking of using Velcro dots.

    1. Hi Johanna,
Thank you so much for your kind words, Becca was terrified, she did call the police and the bastards were caught later that night, but they have only been given a caution, which after the terror they caused her and have actually damaged her car, she has only had it a week bless her and there was not a mark on it, they were actually trying to tip her car over with her in it! so a caution is just a bloody insult in my eyes!
But never mind, not point stressing, I was both bloody angry and devastated at the same time, when one of your babies is crying for their mummy, you just want to be there!
She is calmer tonight, I chatted with her about an hour ago and she was falling asleep as we were speaking so hopefully she will get a good night sleep tonight. I on the other hand am sleeping on my own tonight which means I probably be surfing the net all night, nothing like retail therapy to make you feel better!

Oh Sandra what a day you have had sweetheart but that was yesterday and today is a whole new day so come on lets pick you up dust you off and start all over again as the saying goes! I really do wonder if those folks in the NHS know what they are doing at times, of course Michelle is excluded from that remark. Hopefully they are finally on the right track now and at long last you will be getting somewhere, but I quite agree it is the waiting that is the worst for goodness sake this is a young girl with her whole life ahead of her.
As for poor Becca I don't wonder she was scared but as others have said go to the police, did she not call them when these thugs was causing the trouble?
So pleased she was sensible enough to lock the doors, please give her a big cuddle from me.

She is still looking very full thanks to all that oatmeal eating over 8 ozs of it and looking so pleased with her little self!
My daughter got through her procedure yesterday she said they were all so very nice with her and very reassuring, so today she has to have plenty of rest and no driving due to the sedation her head wanted her in school today to teach as they were short staffed, but the specialist said no way. The main thing is they found nothing nasty she has a very bad reflux that is causing all the pain and hopefully it can be controlled with medication and diet thank goodness.

    1. hi Margaret,
Thank you very much for your lovely comment, Becca's friend called the police during the attack, they caught them eventually, but they have only been given a caution, she has had to get quotes for the damage today, which totalled £300, they had a condition on their caution saying they had to pay for the repairs to her car!
Sounds like you have had a long day, bless you, I am so pleased that Tomas's eye in on the mend, poor wee thing! 8 ozs of oatmeal, one young lady must be feeling very bloated!
I am so pleased that your daughter got through her procedure ok, it must be frustrating for her knowing that they are short staffed, but sometimes even though you feel very guilty you have to put yourself first. it will be better all round if she goes back fully recovered! 31. Hello All,
Well, I'm back to tell you a little story about George. As school helpers, we went with the school reception class when Zoe was in that class, to town to see Fenwicks Christmas Windows, and to visit Santa Claus and then go for juice and biscuits. We marched in crocodile form through thick ice and snow to the Metro Station (a combination overground and underground train station). When we reached the city centre we proceeded to go up the longest escalator, with each of the adults looking after 5 children. George went in front of me (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO), and half way up he started to slip backwards and I remember holding him up by pushing his back. I was lower down as the steps were getting higher and higher as it went up, he was 6" 2 1'2" then and I was 5' 3". I honestly do not remember falling, but realised that I was lying flat on my back, with him on top of me (now, now) and the metal steps were digging deeper and deeper into my back. After shouting for quite a while for someone to press the "Stop" button, we eventually stopped and people helped George off me. Making sure he was find. Me, I was left to lie there!!!!! then they got me up and I said that I was fine.
I didn't want to scare the 4 and 5 year olds and we did all the things that we went to town for. Then got the Metro home and plodged through snow and ice back to school.
When we got home I fainted and went for a lie down. Three weeks later, after being in pain and discomfort, I thought I'd better have it checked out. I am now the proud owner of disloged vertabra and crushed vertabra in my spine which just have to be left as they are cannot be repaired, put back or improved.
Moral of the story - I NEVER go up an escalator behind George, or down an escalator in front of him!!!
Still, it could have been worse, I could have fallen on him lol.
SANDRA, I do hope you feel a bit more like yourself after the trauma of yesterday, and that Paul is not away for too long. Take care of yourself.
TANDY, can't wait to hear about the drug dealer. Even me, with all the calamities in my life, have never had dealings with a drug dealer. A bank robber, now that's another story!!....................But tomorrow belongs to "One Eye".
SABA/Gerta, have a great night and I hope you don't have to hunt too much before you find your dinner. Personally, I wouldn't bother going if they weren't going to serve me with it, no wonder they are wild. I bet the bores have charged a bomb as well, or have they just charged?
MARGARET, pleased that your daughter got through the procedure all right. She's a braver woman than me, that's the one fear that I have. They'd have to hit me with a hammer to knock me out, and I'm also pleased that Tomas's eye is starting to improve, even if his sister is still digesting the oats!
Cheryl, how are you my dear, and is your Craft Room uber posh? x
Patricia and Hazel, I'm wending my way over to your blogs now, you have been warned. In fact I may just vault over to Hazel's!

    2. Sandra, he is so clumsy. His hands are quite bad with arthur (arthritis) and when he grasps things they slip away. That's why he hasn't managed to strangle me yet. Did I tell you about the time I broke my arms and he had to dress me, he used to pull my skirt up to underneath my armpits. Honestly, he's a walking menace, but lovely with it.
How are you with your trauma of yesterday. Do you feel a bit more settled yet? xxxx

Poor Becca and her friend, A dreadful thing to experience, I am so pleased the police got hold of the thugs that did this. They deserve the book been thrown at them. I hope today has been a calm and peaceful day for you. I'm sending you and your girls big big basket of hugs.

Thank you for caring, it means the world xx
Janet's card is stunning and very inspirational, do you have the striplet dies? I would love to show a piece of your work sometime.

    2. Hello Honey,
These thugs should have been locked up, in my opinion. How would they react if it was their Sister, Daughter, Wife or Mother. I'm sorry sometimes I think the law is to soft.
I hope Becca is dealing with this, please let her know I think she is a remarkable young lady. Also a credit to her family.
I have four striplet dies and love using them.
I did try to send you pictures of cards I had made also one of Ciara's. But for some reason it didn't work. I will try again.
Really looking forward to Ally Pally, it looks as if you will have quite a few blog followers there. GOSH ITS GETTING REALLY EXCITING NOW.
Goodnight, hope you have a good sleep. love Mumma xxx

  33. Hi Maureen,
Ouch - that must have really hurt! Dangerous things escalators and it would seem if we add George to that they become lethal! One of our sons went to Newcastle University and he was taken by a family to see Fenwicks Christmas Windows - he was a little bemused and then he saw the crowds queuing to see them. They were always lovely .
An escalator story from my brother's vast fund of them! He was a general manger of a large department store - so stories every week! One day he was summoned to come quickly to an escalator as there was an incident! It turns out an Indian lady had got her sari stuck in the side and as the escalator moved more and more of the sari was being removed. Someone kicked the side button and it had stopped but my brother arrived and the ladies husband yelled at him What are you going to do, your escalator is undressing my wife!" He says keeping straight face was very hard . Escalators and saris don't mix and there are warning signs!
Just thought I'd share that with you!

    1. Hi Myra,
How funny, I don't know how your brother kept a straight face, I can see that there should now be another picture with a cross through it, no pushchairs is one, then there would be a lady in along dress or loose clothing in a red circle with a line through it!
I bet he has some tails to tell!

As I said on Barbiepinkfairy's blog below, I'm really quite fit considering the number of times I've cheated death at the hands of my husband. I can walk quite a bit, and volunteer in the school 3 times a week, but unlike Hazel I cannot vault!!!!

Oh Maureen poor you, that sounds very painful and I'm sure George was very upset he had hurt you. Yes stay clear of escalators when he's around!
Margaret I'm pleased your daughter is ok and Thomas's eye is improving.
Tandy wow what a holiday you have had! You need another one to get over it! Looking forward to hearing your tales. So sorry to hear about your uncle, my thoughts are with you at this sad time.
Johanna and Saba wow Velcro flaps! Would they make that strange ripping noise as you walk do you think! Lol
I think we should all have shares in tena ladies at this rate and perhaps M&S knickers! Has anyone seen the Bridget jones hold it all in big knickers they do but they have a thong back! Honestly what's the point of holding it all in at the front if it's all wobbling about round the back! Like the Lycra cycling shorts that made my daughter look quite slim but with really big knees! Well it has to go somewhere doesn't it.
Well I must go and put dinner on, been watching the news after hearing Sir Terry Pratchet has died, very sad news, I'm reading one of his books at the moment.
See you all later with the floor mop and bucket! Love to you all. Diane xxx

    1. Hi Diane,
Well I have to say I haven't seen these Bridget Jones knickers with the thong back, why would they do that????? so all that wibble wobble that is flattened at the front is now forced out the back, so you would have a full on Kardashian Ghetto Booty! thing is Diane, where would you stick your Tena Lady???? you wouldn't want all of that sticky strip flapping about at the back there, getting stuck to stray pubes! ouch, its making me eyes water just thinking about it! haha
Sue and I had every kind of Flap on Tuesday, we had 'wonky flaps', 'sticky flaps', 'wrinkled flaps', you name it our flaps had it!
I was trying desperately to find another word for it!

    3. Hi Johanna the books are rather strange but very funny. I have read quite a few of them and seen a couple of plays. They are either the disc World Series or ones about witches all in a style of their own. If you can find an audio version read by Tony Robinson (baldrick/time team) they are quite soothing to listen to. He has written some children's books too which are quite a good read. I hope that helps!

I am fit as a lop really, although I do creak a bit when I walk!!! Walked into town on Tuesday, 3 miles, and used to do it 3 times a week but had to stop a couple of years ago when George's hip went. He had a new one last July, so we are starting to get some exercise again.

  37. Hi everyone,
Oh Sandra I don't know what bairn had the worst day and for entirely different reasons. Lucy because of the total waste of time and effort and what she has had to put up with this last year. Becca because she must have been so petrified poor wee lass. I can just see you if you could have got there, they would have been luckier meeting the police rather than her mother. Please give the two girls a big hug from me but let's see if we can't find something that the Becca could put in her bag and use legally so that she'd isn't get into any bother herself for carrying it or ask the police if they could suggest something. Any way please give the girls a great big squishy hug from me.
Janet, another masterpiece and I am sure your friend will be delighted with it.
Girls, my shawls are just common garden variety of an old pattern, nothing to write any long letters about honest. Anyway I haven't got what you all have....Talent, so I will leave my projects out of the glossy mag spread.

My mother made shawls for all the family and I bet all the shawls you have made are like the ones my mother did, they are family heirlooms. My daughter is 43 and her shawl is still in my wardrobe and it is still a very precious item. You should be very proud being able to knit such beautiful items as there are not many people able to do that these days.

I wouldn't say my bog is the Glossy mags,I would love to see some of your makes included though, but I certainly not going to put any pressure on you to do it, I respect you too much for that my love.

Wow Maureen you & George don't do thing by halves do you. You must have been in agony with them steps going up & down on your back pity you didn't have them Tenna ladies under your back to take the pressure off.

you will be alright tonight because we are all here with you, hmm even if some of them are asleep by now lol
Ouch Maureen you must have been so in pain.Sure it wasn't the first time George had you on top.....
My friend got her shoelaces stuck under one of the plates and went flying. geee I thought she was going to lose her foot before someone pressed the emergency button. thankfully she was fine but is now always scared it will happen again so she bought some shoes with velcro instead and it had nothing to do with her flaps lol
My how busy you all are making Izzy bags, I must say do that they are fab. and thank you Saba again for giving us instructions. I will have my OH to have a look tomorrow so maybe he can help me with the measurements so I don't make it wrong. He is to football Saturday and son is working so hopefully I can get a crafting day however I couldn't even make a card for a five year old today, grrr
I know how I want it to look but it seem impossible for it to go on to a card.
Sandra I really hope that Rebecca is alright, good that they got caught but the police system here and some other places is just stupid. We watched' Papillon 'after dinner and that was real prisons. After that we watched 'Off Their Rockers' and I could see us all doing something silly as them when we are at AP together tihi They are hilarious ! What do you usually do when you can't sleep Sandra and anyone else with insomnia ? You are so quick in the mornings with your postings and some of you are awake to comment, thats the time when I feel most like a zombie so it takes a while to be social lol
I agree with Margaret that you should be a DT you are good enough and so is a lot of you, Glad your daughter 'Margaret' is ok and get some help for her problems. Grey's anatomy is on my planner with Father Brown and Downton Abbey plus a lot of crafting so I will be busy for a few hours. I'll see you tomorrow after swim and shopping etc Now behave and make sure everything look nice before leaving otherwise we might get a reprimand from the early birds like Hazel, Sam, Patricia or yourselves hihi saying that it is probably me Nattinatt,
