One last Mixed Craft Saturday!

 

Good Saturday Morning Ladies, 

From a VERY cold Gloucestershire,  my goodness it's white out there, such a heavy frost, we are forecast snow today, I want it to snow selfishly, because O love it, but as a Mum who's kids have to drive to work I don't want it to snow, the ice is bad enough.  Luckily because we are so rural there is always something jumping out of the hedge so you drive fairly slow and wary anyway, well we do atleast. I hope that you all stay warm and safe.

Gina has been keeping herself busy knitting these two beautiful baby shawls, I absolutely love the pattern you have used Gina,  the pink edging looks so pretty too.

Gina also made this gorgeous card to go with the shawls, using a Lisa Horton Embossing folder, That little baby vest is so cute 😍.

Maria

Maria has created this very Majestic Elephant Crystal Art over the past few days.  Maria it must take you absolutely ages to complete something so incredible,  every one of those squares needs filling with a bead, it must make your eyes so tired,  I guess you could do it while watching tv though, do you have a special table or easel ?

Pretty Spring Florals

 

Good Friday Morning Ladies, 

I hope that you are all managing to stay warm in this much colder weather,  our car didn't defrost all day yesterday,  despite the fact that we had an absolutely gorgeous sunny day.  I really wanted to hang the washing outside yesterday but it was so incredibly cold it wouldn't have dried.   Thank goodness for the Aga !! 

I'm not sure if you are ready for a New Challenge but I will suggest a theme for those of you that want one....

Simple Spring/Flowers 

Something to cheer us all up after all of the post holiday blues. I have made a couple now and they really lift your spirits.

Whats New for 2025

 

Good Thursday Morning Ladies, 

Just giving you a gentle reminder on which day of the week we are on,  it's me that needs reminding most though,  Paul has started saying "good morning,  its Thursday before you ask" 🤣😂

I usually like to talk about upcoming trends etc for this first real blog post of New Year but to be honest I could barely find anything about upcoming trends,  but here is the little bit I did find....

The 'Pantone' colour of the year is Mocha Mousse (see above),  at first glance I thought 'Wtf'  how drab for Spring and Summer, however researching a little more some of the colour palettes based around that shade are quite lovely....

So when its mixed with other shades it doesn't look as drab.  I think compared to Distress colours it's between vintage photo and Gathered Twigs. 

It will work well with Vintage & Mixed Media projects I think.   What do you think?

Some of the other 'Trends' I have seen mentioned are :  

Adding Stitched elements to your cards:  

Felt and Fabric too....

There will a lot of big company collaborations too, like Spellbinders & Hero Arts. Altenew with Pink Fresh Studio.  We will see more combined collections of Stamps,  Stencils and dies.  

Making More with Less....

A lot of upcycling & recycling, which is kind of expected and would also work well with adding bits of fabric to your cards.  I love the felt on that Kraft card.  

Botanicals will be big in decorative papers 

'Unmixed Media'  where you buy the 'mixed media' elements already done like mixed media style papers etc. 

Big Brands will be taking less risks,  sticking to tried and trusted styles 

More innovation in Craft tools, for instance Stamping Platforms that have the ability to rotate and work with Layered stencils.  Rather than trying to sell 1 toll for every job, which does make sense.....If...they work !! 

Oh and Metallics & Glitter are set to become more popular.  

How many of these things pan out we will see,  I think most of them make sense, like Big Brands working together,  making complete sets of dies, stamps and stencils.  Which is nice to have but costs so much.

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

Firstly today I would like to wish you all the Happiest New Year possible !! 

Let's welcome January,  as it says above, a Year of New Beginnings and endless opportunities, so for our Sonia I believe that new job is out there waiting for you.  

I need to focus on losing weight and trying to improve my health, after all I am going to be 'Mother of the Bride' in 9 months!  

But most of all I hope and pray that all of us have better health in 2025. 🤞

Thank you all for supporting the blog through 2024 and I promise I will try my hardest to inspire you all to craft in 2025.
