Your 'Monochrome/Monochrome with a Splash" Challenge cards

🎈🎉🎂Happy Birthday Sue🎂🎉🎈

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

Please join me in wishing Our Lovely Sue a very Happy Birthday, I know that you will have a fun day as you are sharing your Birthday with 26 5 Year Olds, I guess you won't be bored!! I know you will enjoy seeing them all have fun on the Bouncy castle,  it will take you back to your Beaver days,  I'm sure you haven't lost the knack of organising large  groups of Children.  Hopefully you will have a relaxing end to your day, with some nice food and your lovely family.  I hope that we can go out for lunch and celebrate your birthday this coming week my lovely XXX

Janet it was lovely to hear from you, although it sounds like your usual trip to the cafe and market didn't go as planned,  I bet Jim was sad not to get his cake, I know Paul would have been,  will there beam any local events on this weekend or a Brocante to wander around? How long are you staying this time?  xxx

Sonia

Sonia's Description:

I stamped the grid, and then added Spun Sugar through a Memory Box stencil. The heart stamps are from Tracey Hey. I die cut Sue Wilson’s flowers and added the pink enamel dot to the centre. The sentiments are from LOTV.

Absolutely love your card, such a perfectly balanced design with that lovely grid stamp and then those lovely hearts to draw your eye in.  I know I have said this before but you have the knack of making those old SW flowers look so different,  its like you have updated them some how!  That hint of ink really softens the monochrome look.  Thank you so much for such a lovely Challenge card  XXX

Karen

Karen's Description:

Card 1 & 2 : "Here’s two Christmas cards in black and white with a splash of colour
I used my Daisy B stamp - the smaller one on black printed card with a Blackboard font I downloaded from DaFont and “shadowed it with a yellow Carbothello pencil.
It took one A4 page to print

Card 3 Another Christmas card A Couture Creations die and a SueW poinsettia

Card 4: A Aall&Create (Tracy Evans) Design, Glossy Accents added to flower bud.

What an amazing collection of cards all so incredibly different (apart from first 2),  I use Pink Frog Black card or the one from Limetree at the craft show, both are decent black  I have had some that are literally dark grey but sold as black before, so frustrating.  Love all 4 cards Karen the font of the Merry Christmas is lovely and that simple poinsettia finishes that card perfectly.
The Lovely colouring and addition of Glossy Accents really brings that Tulip to life,  smudge, what smudge ??😉
Thank you so much for four amazing Challenge cards Karen, thanks for supporting the challenge xxx

Lilian

Lilian's Description:

I used stamping up set “ very Versailles"
Small butterfly in pink pen, black is not really my colour!

Thank you so much Lilian,  your card is lovely that pop of pink brings the card to life.  Very Versailles' is one of my favourite stamp sets.  Thanks for taking part my lovely.  Enjoy having family visit this weekend xxx

Maria

Maria's Description:

Printed Butterflies and Dream in TH Oxide and the second one I quickly
used some Black Stickers to make a scene.

Thank you so much Maria for takibg part in this weeks Challenge,  your cards are lovely. I  love that gorgeous shade of blue you have used, it matches your card colour perfectly, this would make a lovely journal page too or even a journal cover.
I thought you had stamped that monochrome scene, I would never have guessed it was peel offs! All of the elements work we together,  a card that would definitely make you smile as it brings back memories!  Thank so much my lovely XXX

************************

After a day of glorious sunshine yesterday we are greeted with cloud and rain today, so we aren't going to bother going out anywhere,  we will just have a chill out day, maybe get out in garden between showers,  it will be crafting if rain persists!
I hope that you all have a lovely day with family and friends,

Sending love and hugs to all,

Sandra

  1. Morning everyone.
Happy, happy Birthday to a lovely lady today our Sue!! Have a very nice day with the family xx
Very nice CC's this morning to have a look at. I like your idea Karen with starting to get some x-mas cards made and the chalkboard cards are great. Sonia, love your card with just the hint of spun sugar. Beautiful card Lilian, I love the butterfly. Have a wonderful time with your visitors this weekend. Hopefully it is not too crowded down in Cornwall.
Wasn't it a nice day yesterday, and then today we are having rain. Well it is a bank holiday weekend so no surprise really. The next one that usually is rained away is midsummer. OH has gone to Tottenham for football for the day so I have full control of the tv control so will have a chance to catch up on some recordings. No other plans for the day yet.
Have a nice Sunday everyone and take care. Many hugs to you all xxx
