A Mixed Media Tag card

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

Well what a wash out of a day yesterday was, Paul managed to plant out 32 Sweetcorn plants and I potted up some Geraniums and a few other pots but the rain just became too heavy,  I am pretty sure that the river will have burst its banks overnight because around here the ground is so saturated there is nowhere for the water to go, fingers crossed the news reports of a dry/sunny June are true! 🤞

Now onto today's card, I started making it on Friday after I opened my parcel from Ben at In2Craft, I have had my eye on Sam Poole's latest stamp collection for a while and I saw that Ben had them at a great price so I had to have them, a while back Karen, Lilian and I were looking at a new line that Stamperia had bought out, I got the 'Journal ' ones, Karen and Lilian were thinking about getting the Sewing themed ones.  I was so pleased that the Journal ones went really well with the Sam Poole stamps, so this is where my card started, I puck 2 pieces of the paper pad and tore  strip off of each tp fit my card base, I inked around the papers with Vintage photo Distress ink, making sure to highlight the torn edge too. I picked a few stamps and added those to different places on the card and on the tag, for some extra texture and detail I die cut some Kraft card with Sam Poole's Cheesecloth die, I inked it with vintage photo and hit bits of it with gold gilding wax, I ended up edging the tag, the torn edges and a few of the elements with wax to tie everything together.   I placed bits of the cheesecloth die cut under opposite corners of the tag, then I found some wide canvas style ribbon so I wrapped some around the tag and used a piece to stamp  'wildflower' on and added it to the bottom left of the card. I used a chipboard piece from the Stamperia Collection to add a sentiment to my tag, the flower beside it is a chipboard too, I did edge both with ink and the tiniest bit of Gilding wax.  To finish the tag I used some seam binding ribbon that I had added a little vintage photo to to make it less white, I also added some twine for that rustic look. I used foam pads to adhere my tag to my card. I really enjoyed making this card.

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what a gorgeous mixed media card. The new steamy look great,
Can’t wait to heAr all about the Foiling machine-I’m very interested.

Yesterday was wet here too, drizzled all morning then heavy rain in the af. I spent all morning doing housework then we had a Skype session with my in-laws then I spoke to my Dad in the evening. Yesterday was just a blur!!

  3. Hi Sandra & ladies
An interesting card today, loved all of yesterday’s cards as well. The magazine looks interesting Michele. Thanks for doing the review. Like most of the country it seems we also had rain yesterday. Most of yesterday. I woke up as well to torrential rain today as well, although the sun has just come out.
Brenda Littlelamb has also bought this machine as well. She was using it yesterday to do some die cutting. I doubt if she’s used the foiling part as she’s laid up still with her leg.
Take care & stay safe everyone.

  4. Hi everyone
I love your card today, as soon as I saw it I thought ‘Sam Poole’ 😊 She designs some lovely things and your beautiful card shows that perfectly.
Have fun with the Kaleido machine, can’t wait to see what you create.
Not long back from walking Barney. We left in bright sunshine and then the heavens opened! Another day of sunshine and showers I think.
Have a good day everyone. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  6. Hi everyone
Gorgeous mixed media card Sandra, love the papers. Had a look in and got stuck the last hour looking around in2craft :)
Hope you all who met up with family under the weekend can have a rest today. It's lovely to have people around again but it does take you out a bit.I hope you ok Sandra after your trip.
We got sister-in-law and her OH here tomorrow so hoping the weather could be better so we can sit in the garden. Have decided to go to Frost for lunch so no cooking. This weekend we have Son's girlfriend coming over too to stay. He asked for 4 weeks but look more like 6 weeks now. Well ,we have to do our best to get along in our little house.
Have been "swearing" all morning and did some weeding on the patio. Now going to town to bring back some clothes I bought on-line and does not fit :( and hubby goes to the library. Would be nice to have a coffee out but not sure if we do. Hope you all have a good day and the showers not stopping you to go out. Many hugs to all, Maria xx

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Lovely Tag Card Sandra, Sam Poole dies and stamps are perfect for your card.

I had a bit of a tidy up in my craft room, I could have tripped over my grin when sorting out the work area - I uncovered my Tag Dies now I have no excuse for not getting on with my CC this week.

I am going to take a chance and go out in the garden, it will be my third attempt today, every time I’ve said it today the sun has gone in and we have had more rain.
I hope we will have better weather for the bank holiday weekend 🤞

Take care everyone, love Brenda xxx
