Spellbinders Cascading Grace & Milly-May 1st Birthday photo

Milly-May 1st Birthday

Good Morning Ladies,

I have had this Spellbinders Cascading Grace die for a while now, I have die cut it a few times but for some reason not got around to making a card with it.
Well I decided last night that I would tick that box, I looked at the die cut itself and decided that with its separate outer cutting edge it would be perfect for making the card base of the die itself, so I folded a piece of A4 card and put the die cutting edge just very slightly under the fold, cut it then cut a matt of periwinkle blue card to cover the base card as the base cut is not quite perfect because of the fold, once you have added the mat you can't tell, I covered the blue matt with a double sided adhesive sheet and then covered with with Iced Snow, I used the fancy part of the die to cut the decorative layer, adding the central die cut area with another blue mat, upon which I added my sentiment, which I die cut twice for depth, the second layer having a piece of double sided adhesive on top, once cut I added some super fine glitter.  I arranged a small spray of flowers at the side of the card and finished with a few blue pearls.
I hope you like it xx

Cheryl sent me this photo of Milly-May on her First Birthday, doesn't she look adorable, all dressed up as Minnie Mouse, what a gorgeous cake she had too,
Thank you Cheryl for sharing this gorgeous photo xxx

Well I will report that Sue, Pat and I did briefly discuss thee EU Referendum, we didn't come to any conclusions though!!  The country will have to wait for another week for us to put it right I'm afraid, we had far more pressing problems to solve like, how to ink up an embossing folder for letter pressing, Sue was trying the brayer method, as well as inking direct from ink pad and using a smoothie, non gave the perfect result, so sue has taken the folder home to continue her trials!!

Janet I hope you're not too fed up with all your measuring! All for a good cause, fingers crossed my lovely xx

Val, love and extra hugs coming across to you at this trying time xxx

Have a lovely day ladies, get your brollies to hand, you may need them anytime soon!

Love and hugs

Sandra

  1. Good Morning Sandra. What a lovely way to start the day seeing such a pretty photo of Millie May on her first birthday. She looks so happy and cute with her Minni Mouse whiskers and my word her cake is as big as she is.
What a lovely die Sandra and you card is beautiful. Love the colour, the sparkle and the beautiful flower arrangement. Glad all 3 of you had a good craft and chat yesterday. I just love putting thw world to rights.
As I told Sandra yesterday my DIL went to the hospital for some tests on Tuesday, became really ill whilst she was there and they kept her in not taliking imeningitis or septicemia. She had two MRI scans and a test on her spine yesterday and hopefully will get the results today. What a week.
I'm sorry I haven't read what you all commented yesterday but will catch up when I get back from having my nails done this morning.
    enjoy your day everyone.
    Love Valxx

  2. Morning Ladies

Val-sorry to hear your sad news about your niece, I hope your D inL makes a great recovery-will keep my fingers crossed for her(&you).

Sandra-lovely card, that die makes a great card blank. I'm struggling to make any cards at the moment-think it's the heat as I hate it. There's a lot going on at work right now plus hubby's relatives arrive tomorrow (from Florida).

Cheryl-Milly-May looks gorgeous in her outfit. I'll bet she had a great day & was spoiled which seems just perfect.

Off to water my plants the dry my hair before another trying day at work!

  3. Morning Everyone - Where has the sunshine gone? It left us just after lunch yesterday and hasn't been seen since. I hope that his return is on his Agenda to come back very soon.

Had a very 'bitty' day yesterday. Sorted my craft bag; tried to start a door tag for Lily-Mae and then sat and filled in my chart and stayed in my chair for the rest of the afternoon feeling well and truly shattered. I'm hoping today will be better. I have to send my buys and CC pic to Sandra.

CHERYL- I love the picture of Milly-Mae. She is just one gorgeous girl and I know you enjoyed her party just as much as she did.

All is out and ready for customers whether they're Old Friends or New just pop in and say hello. You will always find a big welcome. Hugs should have arrived with you all now. xxxx

    1. Hi Janet. Thank you for the delicious ice cream yesterday, it slipped down a treat. Like Cheryl my favourite ice cream on a stick is the raspberry magnums, and just like Cheryl I will treat myself when they are on offer : ) I hope the sun has returned for you, we have a lovely sunny clear day here. Fingers are firmly crossed for you when you see doc tomorrow, may they get you sorted quickly so you can get over to France to recover in the peace and quite. Take care x

Milly-May looks so cute in her Minnie Mouse dress. Her huge cake looks lovely and as Val said looks as big as her! I bet she enjoyed tucking into it and the rest of her birthday celebrations.
Another sunny morning here and I fear a rather humid one again! We seem to have missed the worst of the rain and storms, although I'd rather we got some to clear the air.
Thinking of you Val, fingers crossed for some positive results for you Daughter in Law.

  8. Hello Sandra and everyone in the coffee shop,

Sandra your card is beautiful, Love the colours used and is just enough sparkle, as always your flowers are gorgeous. LOL

Cheryl, what gorgeous picture of Millie Millie doesn't she look happy. Or is she just laughing at the thought of eating all that cake!!!

Shopping is on the cards for us today and then we go and pick up the children from school, take them home and feed them and then come back home and feed ourselves. And that will be ready for us when we get home As I've cook some salmon and we have made potato salad and a few other salad bits with it. So it's all done and we can relax.

Hope everyone is having a good day, sending extra hugs for those who need them. Love Brenda XXX

  13. Good evening Ladies,
Sandra , your card is really beautiful ! I love the sparkle in the back ground and your little flower arrangement sets it off treat!
I didn't get back to comment last night as I was absolutely shattered , fantastic circular cliff walk but the heat was quite exhausting so I didn't manage golf.
Today we have been in the garden since 8.30 am until 5 pm so another tiring but satisfying day, the garden has really come on well with this warm spell, they say it's to end tomorrow so we were making the most of it!
Val,sending you more gentle (((hugs ))).

  14. Hallo night owls and friends, hope your day was good all round. I envy you Anne spending so long in the garden after a long walk in the heat yesterday. I only managed about an hour and then I got a stinking headache and had to go and lay down . We went shopping for groceries this afternoon and hope we can have a BBQ tomorrow night tihi in all the years we lived here we never had maybe a BBQ a year if that and now it's our third in as many weeks.
The white goods is arriving tomorrow so it starting to take shape but still a long way to go. Perhaps if it been three workers at the time it would have been finished by now but 2 more weeks to go. It's another layer of dust laying on everything again so can't wait to clean it all away. Poor OH is suffering both from hay fever and dust allergy's so it is not so fun for him right now. Have a good night (if you can) and I'll see you tomorrow after my early walk and before my "launderette " with my friend and cuppa in the morning hopefully. hugs xxx
