Gorjuss Again!

Good Morning My Crafty Friends,
Another Gorjuss Girl card today, I have had these toppers and papers for months and months and I have just recently found the box with them in whilst looking for something the teenagers!
I tried to pick colours from the topper, some I went with beige/coffee colours.
I went for the 8x8 card base in white, matt and layered with some coffee coloured card and then a piece of coordinating patterned paper from my stash. I slightly distressed the edges of the paper with scissors, roughening up the fibres so that they take the ink better, I then used an ink duster
to add the Tea Dye Distress ink to the edges.  I used a Martha Stewart Punch to make a decorative strip border across the card and topped it with some Creative Expressions Ribbon.
I used the Tea dye ink to colour a doily and mounted that onto my card base, tucking it into the ribbon strip, I then added the topper which I mounted onto a Spellbinder A2 Ribbon Threader Die cut, put it on top of the ribbon and doily.
I used a Cheery Lynn Fancilful Flourish Die and a selection of paper roses and some little fancy bits from Anna Marie Designs website.
I used the same paper on the inside of the card and stamped 'happy birthday' onto another A2 Ribbon threader Die cut and mounted that in the middle.
An unusual colour combo for me but I think I like it.
I have left a space on the front of the card to add a sentiment or personalisation.

Here Is a close up of the floral focal element of the card.
My husband takes the photos and I think he is taking some tips from Sue Wilson with these close ups!

Alice's Birthday

Hello my Crafty Friends,
Thanks for stopping by today.
I have made a this card for my Niece Alice,
she is 12, again that awkward age,
So I went for a Gorjuss girl topper, this time I made it on a 6 x 6 white card base, I matted and layered cream lined paper from the gorjuss range onto black card added a lilac wide strip down the middle of the card then trimmed either side of that with some black/white spotted ribbon and a band of vertical stripe paper across the card, I mounted the topper onto some black card and placed it to one side of the card.
I took one of the embellishments from the Gorjuss range, covered it with Perfect medium and then added ultra thick embossing powder to give it a shine. I took one of the little tags from the range and added some rub on letters to personalise the card and topped the tag with a little bow of spotty ribbon.
I hope you like the card. It was a little smaller than I usually make but thought I would give myself a challenge.
I am going to pack my bag now as I am off to my friend Pat's house in Witney to do some crafting, with another friend Sue, to of the loveliest ladies, I so wish we could all get together and craft along together, but I feel there would be more talking than crafting. It would be lovely though as crafters seem to be such genuinely generous people.
Huge Crafty Hugs,

Gorjuss Katie's Birthday

Good Morning Everyone,
I made this card for our Niece Katie's birthday,
she is 12, I find it not so easy to make cards for teens, but the Gorjuss range seems to fit the bill!
I decoupaged the Gorjuss girl and mounted her on Anna Marie Designs Spotty card, using Sue Wilsons California Collection Basic Frames A set, I added a matt of blue card using paper from the Gorjuss range and using the outer die from Sue's Beverley Hills die, it gives the perfect width of matt!
I creased the front of an 8 x 8 card to make an easel card and covered the card in the two papers I had used before.  I mounted the topper onto the
card using Pin Flair Glue Gel and the decorated using Sue Wilson Grand Vinery Die and Faux quilled Flowers , topped with some pearls.
I added a bow of stripey ribbon from the Gorjuss range and topped with a button and some bakers twine.
The bottom of the card was decorated using a border made from using a Martha Stewart punch and topped with a strip of ribbon that I had used on the top of the card.
I cut the sentiment using California Collection Decorative frames set B and Set A.
I used Pin Flair glue to mount it on the ribbon
The overall size of the card is 8 x 8.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you like the card as much as I do.
Crafty Hugs,
