Your Sketch Challenge cards

 

Good Sunday Morning Ladies, 

I hope that you are all enjoying the weekend, what are you all up to?? We are having a relaxing day and then the family are all coming over in the evening  to have dinner with Paul, which we are looking forward to. 

We dodged the showers to go and support the local flower/ plant sale yesterday, we just need to get a break in the rain to plant everything.

Let's have a look at you challenge cards: 

Sonia

Sonia's Description:

For the first card I used Sue Wilson’s flowers on Kraft card. I added ceramic dots and the sentiment from the Stamp Market.

For my second card I used a flower stamp - I think it was a freebie with a stamping magazine from years ago. Again I added the dots and sentiment from the Stamp Market.

Janet's Description:

As I said earlier in the week I was once again very lucky in that the card we had to make on Tuesday at K&N just fitted the Challenge.

Because of this I cannot say which company made the card/papers etc.

As you can see the card has a pocket straight across towards the bottom of the card. This is decorated with a hessian/lace ribbon and a tag placed inside. The colours of cream and brown go well together though not colours I would normally use.

How amazing that for two weeks on trot your K&N cards work perfectly for our Challenge!!  An absolutely lovely card, thank you so much for taking part XXX

Lilian I love, love love your Challenge card, that paper you have used is stunning, it looks really expensive. The top & bottom embossing really enhance the paper it frames it beautifully.  Thank you so much  for such a stunning Challenge card XXX

Mixed Up Saturday Flowers

 

Good Saturday Morning Ladies, 

It's all about the flowers on todays post, we have so many beautiful flowers in the garden at the moment it fills me with joy, sadly they only last a few days and they are gone for another year, so sharing them on my blog is away of keeping a flower diary that I can look back at on those dad days in winter when nothing is in flower. 

So I will apologise in advance for the amount of photos I am about to share....

Roses

This is more of a wild rose that grows in our front borders, so pretty and has hundreds of buds .

These are some of the roses in the front garden border, they smell like proper old fashioned Roses.

This is the Rose that we planted our Dog (Gemma) ashes in, it was a rememberance rose, I love the beautiful yellow roses.

I was worried that I may have pruned this rose a bit too hard last year, it had gotten so big it had pulled the drain pipe off of its fixings, it was a good 14ft high, so I gave a good haircut, thankfully it has bounced back with an abundance of buds, the roses are really big too. It smells amazing too.

The Peony has recovered after being moved it only has a few buds on it this time, hopefully by next year it will be covered in buds like it was before. It is such a beautiful flower.

This has to be one of my favourite shrubs in the garden, its scent is beautiful,  thankfully it over powered the rotten fish bush, which has finished flowering  (thank heavens), although the bees loved it.  

Lilian's Garden 

Lilian's beautiful Roses, what a beautiful display, Lilian says that the White one has scent which must be lovely as you walk up the path. You pink rose has so many buds on! Its called Rambling Rector.

I have a couple of photographs from my garden a lot of it is still green but early May I took a picture of my Arum Lily. It originally came from my sisters garden when she lived in Ely Place in London, this year it’s excelled its self, Even though it’s squashed in a small space at the side of the greenhouse
 It had so many blooms on it, this is the photograph

The next picture Just been out and taken a picture of this rose it’s called Golden wedding, and was a gift from a friend on our  Golden wedding. Today or wedding anniversary it’s 61 years where has the time gone !

Brenda your Arum Lily is incredible,  I don't think I've seen one with that many flowers.

Your Golden Anniversary rose is beautiful and looks so healthy.  Our Pearl anniversary rose is just about to burst into life, it's bright pink. I love yellow roses though.

Karen's Favourite Spot

As I am writing this post (late Friday afternoon) it is about 34 degrees, I csn only hope that this weather will last the weekend but alas that is not what is forecast.  

The good thing is atleast we have crafting to keep us occupied on the rainy days!!

Lilian's Colour Challenge

 

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

It's such a shame that the good weather is forecast to end today with a weekend of rain ahead of us, I missed out on most of the sunshine yesterday (not that I sit in sun anyway) but I do enjoy being out in the garden when the weather is lovely, we have a swing seat in the shade at the top of the garden, its so lovely to sit up there and listen to the birds.  As I was saying yesterday ended up being a lay on the bed fan on full with my knee raised to try and get swelling to go down, we went to cinema on Wednesday evening and were in a different screen to the one we usually book, I chose the seats with easiest access but I didn't realise when I booked that it had a step up to it,  getting up wasn't so bad as there was a hand rail in front of the seat and Paul held on to me, but getting down I must have misjudged the edge of the step and landed awkwardly, it didn't hurt too much at the time but my goodness did it throb through the night, by 3am I had taken every painkiller I was able to, the night was uncomfortable enough with the heat, thankfully Paul was able to change his day at the office to today so that he could stay home and help me as the girls were both working too.  I was so relieved that he did because Milo must have felt sorry for me and decided he would bring me a nice big mouse to cheer me up,  I wouldn't have been able to do much anyway but being stuck leg up with a mouse running around the bedroom would have been an absolute nightmare, it was a lively little thing too, Paul was chasing it all over the place, eventually wrangling it into a box in the lounge! 

Lilian's Colour Challenge

When I was asking for Challenge ideas last week Lilian suggested a Colour Challenge, the first of the two suggestions was Yellow,  Green & Blue.  

So I had a very quick look through my card files not expecting to find much but the cards above are just the first of many, it's a lovely combination of colours that we can make work for any occasion or Gender. 

You can of course add other colour in as long as those three are the main focus.  I will also say that the 'Yellow' can be switched for Gold,  (I mean it is very similar anyway) and would be helpful for anyone wanting to start Christmas cards!! It is only 27 weeks to the big day you know.!!
