Faux Aperture card

πŸŽ‰Happy Birthday LyndaπŸŽ‰

Good Morning Ladies,

Please join me in wishing our lovely friend Lynda a Very Happy Birthday, I hope you have a lovely day Lynda, sending love & hugs πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³❤️

I think the sun has put his on and go off on his holidays!  It certainly doesn't look like he's coming back for atleast a week.  On the plus side we will only have to do the mammoth task of watering the garden a veg plot every other day this week.  Tje downside is it might take longer for our strawberries to ripen!

We had one tub full last week,  I made the most incredible Strawberry ice-cream with them, it was hands down the best Ice-cream I have ever tasted.

We had some money from Paul's mum at Christmas so we treated ourselves to a 'Ninja Creami', which is an ice cream maker that makes many other desserts too.  One of my guilty pleasures is a McDonald's McFlurry, we usually get one when we finish shopping or go to cinema.  So we bought this machine to make 'McRiley's' at home, I bought some soft serve ice cream mix and poured it into one of the tubs and popped it in the freezer overnight,  I can't tell you how excited I was,  after its frozen you place it into the machine and it churns it into soft ice cream,  I crushed some maltesers and you can add them and machine will gently stir them through the ice cream.  I served some for everyone and the room went silent,  it was a triumph,  the icecream was exactly like the store bought stuff.  Next was strawberry icecream, I chopped strawberries,  added them to a bowl with sugar, 1 teaspoon golden syrup, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, set aside for ten minutes and the stir in double cream, pop in tub and freeze, we took it out Sunday night and put it in the machine,  we just weren't prepared for how how incredible it tasted, just like fresh strawberries and cream!   Lucy is looking forward to making some Sorbets, Soph is looking forward to making frozen cocktails!!  Paul and I are excited to be guinea-pigs πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Today's card was super quick,  I made similar one many years ago,  I masked off a square on my card front Nd blended 'Lost Lagoon' ink through to create a 'faux aperture',  next step was to stamp the Dandelions over the 'aperture' I used the same ink but built up the colour.  I added the sentiment to finish and then layered the card front onto a mat of Lost Lagoon card, then onto a white card base.

I hope you all have a good Tuesday,

Sandra

Happy Birthday Lynda, hope you have a lovely day.

Love today’s card, so simple but so effective, would be great for either sex, and many occasions.

Watching tennis again today, so nt getting much done, will try and do my card for this week tomorrow. Will have to tidy my room first, I have a habit of just dropping stuff on my table.

Have a good evening , Lilian

  4. Hi Sandra and all looking in.
πŸ’πŸŽ‚Happy birthday to you Linda. I hope you have a great day πŸ’πŸŽ‚
Sandra, what a lovely card, perfect for any occasion and great for male or female. I love it. My mouth is watering at the sound of your ice creams. DIL Gemma has one and makes all sorts of flavours for people she works with. Your strawberry one especially sounds delicious xx
Brenda I hope your scans goes well tomorrow. Will be thinking of you xx
Sorry I didn’t get in yesterday, I thought I had first thing bu clearly not! Thank you for the kind words about my card. As is so often the way I saw something very similar on Pinterest. I cut the heart shape then scored the lines on my score board. This is the second one as I managed to slip and scored right across the front on the first one! The blues spotty card is from Limetree I think. It is not as navy as it looks in the photo more a very deep royal blue but still lovely.
I’ve been at Pops for most of the day so no crafting again, hoping to get some time for it tomorrow. Sleep well everyone. Take care. Love Sue xx
