Something Simple to start the week

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

Welcome to the start of a new week,  let's hope it's a good one 🤞

For years we have had our holiday from mid to end of August into September,   so when we get back we pack all summer clothes away for next year,  the shops have Christmas stuff in and the cooler weather is soon upon us.                                                 So I was finishing sorting holiday clothes etc yesterday afternoon,  preparing to pack the clothes back into the boxes,  it then dawned on me (you'd think the heat would have been a clue 🤔)  that we'll need the shorts, summer dresses for the next couple of months,   so I split things into two laundry baskets , one to go upstairs and get popped into drawers or hung,   the other things like swimwear, beach cover ups,  Pauls swim shorts etc will go into box to go back into the loft.  It felt good to get all the bags etc emptied and packed away.  I had to take breaks every ten minutes as I was exhausted.  Paul got all lawns finished which made him happy.

Today I am sharing a clean & simple card that I made using a Tim Holtz 'tuck in' die to create the lovely detailed corner aperture,  next I stamped the sentiment onto the card and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I die cut the ivy in dark green card and added touches of gold mica flakes here and there, to tie in with the gold sentiment.

I added foam pads to raise the front of the card from the background,  so that the aperture stands out more.

I love the simplicity of the card,  the linen texture adds some lovely texture to the card too.

I hope that you all have a great week,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

  1. Beautiful card I wanted to do one similar to this for yesterday but I’d printed the sentiment in the wrong place - too big to use this tuck in die

  3. Hi everyone
A beautiful card, I like the die that you have used here and the linen card.
Good idea to split the clothes up for next time. I have made a similar things with winter and summer clothes that we keep under the bed box.
Karen, hope you enjoyed being back to craft tea.
Sonia, hope you had a good day.
Brenda, hope you and John are alright and you feel okay with the little cooler weather.
Sue, hope everything has gone well with the changes at home and you are pleased.
We had to go to London today for me to arrange for a new passport at the Swedish embassy. It's silly really because I have three months left on it so I can still travel but I wouldn't be able to get back into the UK 🤭😂 UK want you to have over three months left on the passport so I was ok after been to Mallis as I had three months plus a week left 😄 I wouldn't like to live in London but it was interesting to sit and people watch at café we went for brunch. We had two girls speaking to eachother at the next table and they were speaking English one minute and then suddenly in German, that was interesting and on the other side of us it was Finnish 😀 Now is just to wait a few weeks when I have to go down to pick the new one up again. It's a faff but we try to do something else at the same time.
I'm sending many hugs to you all and to our missing friends. I hope that you all are alright. Maria xxx

  4. Hi Sandra and all.
Sorry I have been missing days. I don’t know if I’m coming or going at the moment.
Sandra, a beautiful card, just right for a sad occasion. The tuck in and ivy work perfectly together, love it. It certainly has been very hot here, no more silly high temperature for the next 6-7 days thankfully. You will need those shorts etc for a while yet. I can’t wait to see you, next week as this week is busy each day!
I hope your uti is improving my lovely xx
I hope everyone is ok and enjoying the lovely cool breeze we had here all day. It has died right down now but I hope it picks up again soon so I can sleep a bit longer than the usual broken nights. Take care. Love Sue xx

We can start to get the house back to usual now.
