My First Layered Stencil Card

Good Monday Morning my lovelies,

Here we are at start of a brand new week at the start of a new month!   What have you all got planned?  I have GP phone consultation tomorrow and bladder clinic Thursday,  it will be a fun outing as both girls have the day off.  This one will be the decider as to whether I carry on with the treatment or not, as it stands I lose one weekend a month to severe uti symptoms,  however before I started it was a lot more than once a month, I need to discuss it with the consultant I think.

Today I am sharing my first go at using multi layer stencils,  this one is a Sizzix stencil called 'Flowers', I used Distress Inks to colour the stencils, thankfully they blended beautifully on this occasion!  I really enjoyed using the stencils to create with,  I will confess that I did buy the stamping/stencil tool that Sizzix designed for these stencils and it made the whole process so much easier, no faffing about trying to keep the layers lined up perfectly.   Of course I wanted my first venture into layered stencilling to go to someone that inspired me to have a go at this technique,  Karen's Birthday was perfect timing!   It was the gorgeous Birthday cards that both Maria and Karen made for me that had me really inspired to try stencilling.  So thank you ladies XXX

I hope that you all have a great start to the week,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx

  1. Yes I am the lucky recipient of this beautiful card and I have a confession to make - I bought the Sizzix stamp/stencil tool too I was OK lining up the stencils but it it a lot easier with the platform AND it was my birthday and my existing stamping platform has a huge crack in it!

  2. Hi everyone
A gorgeous card . I love the colours that you have used. Karen is very lucky x
Didn't have much to do today. We just went over to our Dunelm, very busy. Afterward we went to Asda to bring back a thing we bought last week. After brunch and the 1o'clock news it's time to catch up with family etc and the day is gone.
Hope you all have a nice day and have had time for some crafting as long the mojo is around. That is my plan for tomorrow and some tydying up is needed again. Can't understand how it can be so messy by only making one card 🙄😁 Many hugs to you all , Maria xxx

  3. Hi everybody, another dull damp day, dryer in action again, dried to think what the electric bill will be.
Great card Sandra, I confess that I bought the Sizzex tool also, not tried the stencils, use it mainly for stamping.
I have spent the day clearing my desk, not seen it so tidy in ages, so should be able to start again tomorrow, after the ironing.
Have a good evening all , Lilian

Not done very much today, these days I’m quite content sitting and reading or doing puzzles (the ones in the newspaper) to keep me occupied.
Hope you have had a good day, sleep well, Goodnight Love Brenda xxx

  5. Hi Sandra and all looking in. A beautiful card today, love those colours. I think that some tools are needed to make using the particular item much more enjoyable. I will be thinking of you tomorrow when you speak to your GP xx
Once again I see I have missed a couple of days, lovely to see the cards ladies. I thought I had sent mine to Sandra on Saturday evening but obviously not. It can be shown next weekend instead.
We are in Devon visiting some of Chris’s now for a few days. Sleep well everyone. Take care. Love Sue xx
