Good Morning Ladies,
Quite a pleasant day here yesterday since that the wind has calmed down, lovely and sunny at least. Not that I ventured outside, I spent the afternoon at my craft desk, watching some of Tim Holtz live from Saturday launching 3 new 'Texture Fades' (Embossing folder), I don't necessarily watch them with intention to buy (although I did purchase a few from the Christmas Idea-ology one the week before) 🤣. I enjoy watching them for the inspiration and techniques, Tim showed how to colour the embossed pieces with a variety of different products, I didn't get to the end as its 2hrs 40 minutes long! I have been trying to watch since Saturday, I had intended to create a journal page while having Tim in the background but that didn't happen. I find him very inspiring, you can watch some people and it doesn't make you want to get your stuff out and create, Vicky Papaicannou is another incredibly inspiring creator, using things that have never really interested me up until now.
Who do you all enjoy watching???
Today I am sharing my version of Snippet 97, it is paired with Snippet 98, that I shared on Friday, the background on this Snippet is created by scoring the card at 1/2 inch intervals, really burnishing those creases so that the ink hits them as you drag the ink pad down it lightly. The bird and flower are coloured through stencils using Oxide inks, I created a copy paper stencil of the bird tracing around the bird stencil and cutting the inner part of the bird out, so the copy paper covers the whole background, allowing me to be able to stamp inside the bird without getting any overstamping on the background. I used fern stamp and small poppy stamps, colouring the poppies after.
That’s a great Snippet and will take a look at some point
ReplyDeleteYou’ve confused me a little in that you cut a mask in copy paper Don’t Tracy’s stencils come in 2 parts - the inner and the outer?
Downtown Abbey - The Grande Finale was very good OH counted 10 of us watching which meant we could watch in relative silence I loved the story but also my favourite is seeing the clothes they all wear
Off to JL for Knit & Natter this morning
Take care everyone xx
Hi Sandra and everyone.
ReplyDeleteI love today’s snippet. The greens you’ve used are lovely and adding those little white dots and around the poppies just makes them stand out so well. The heart on a string dangling from the birds mouth makes me smile, I would never think of adding something like that. I don’t really have anyone in particular that I follow but you do pick up so many little hints and tips when watching don’t you xx
Karen, I enjoyed Downton too. I love seeing the house as well as the clothes xx
I must go and get ready to go shopping. Have a good day. Take care love Sue xx
Hello, another dull day here. Sorry I missed yesterday, I started but must have fallen asleep.
ReplyDeleteLove your snippets, the green is quite unusual. Might have a look at her Utube channel, see if I can get some ideas to use for this week.
It’s very quiet here now the family are not around, do miss them when they go home.
A bit of sewing to do in the morning, then crafting.
Have a good evening, Lilian
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteI have loved the cards the last few days and thank you for telling me not to throw away my card but instead using it as a learning curve and put it in a book with the other bloomer once 😂
Sonia, your card is beautiful and glad it got it's own showing.
Today's snippet is gorgeous. I just wondering if it was tricky to stamp the card with it being scored or did you do that first ?
Well it is our last night in Sorrento and we have had a day of real R&R with a little shopping in town for a magnet of the place. It's heaving with people wherever you go so it can be a bit stressful but we took it slow as that is the only way I can get through anyway. Sunday it was actually raining here which was a surprise, sorry to hear you had it bad with strong winds. We were window shopping that day and took it easy but still made up a few miles. Yesterday day tho we took the train to go to Pompeii which I found interesting. Funnily enough I think it was something on in London about the eruption from the Vesuvius. and it's history right now.
I hope that you are all feeling alright and have had a good day. Looking forward to be back home to play with what to make from the tic,tac toe. 😊
Good night everyone and big hugs to you all. Maria xxx
