Some more older cards

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Sorry for another day of older cards, I was in bed most of the day again yesterday, the Nurse from the surgery eventually called yesterday morning (not Thursday as promised) she confirmed that i did have a Uti  and that she had prescribed antibiotics,  luckily I already had some and had started taking them.  Thankfully the Bladder Clinic was still able to give me my treatment!   One thing I did discover is that you cannot take the Cystitis Relief powders if you have heart disease!

The cards above are more versions of aperture cards, the first one is one of Sonia's, I love the layout and the colours and the 3rd one is one of Karen's.   The striplets make great aperture cards, Karen used some beautiful papers behind that striplet die, it has made a great card for any occasion.

I hope that you all have a great Friday,  we are off the Dudley for the weekend to use our Black Country Museum annual passes.

Love & hugs to all of you,

Throwback Cards for Thursday

Good Morning Ladies,

Just a quickie today as I am not feeling very well πŸ˜ͺ, I spent yesterday battling the most painful Uti symptoms I have had in a long time.  I called surgery they told me to take a sample in for testing by nurse, they would then call me with the results ( whether they found blood and felt it needed sending to lab).  But shock  surprise they didn't call me, they had sample since 12 noon!!  I wanted them to check to see if I was going to need antibiotics,  as I have them at home ready to take ( prescribed by Urology consultant).  Fingers crossed they get back to me this morning!  I spent the afternoon in bed as I was feeling so rough and literally on the loo every 5- 10 minutes.

Are you all going to vote ??  I have no idea who to vote for, they are all as bad as each other !!

So today I am sharing some cards that may inspire you a little, they are from past few years. There are two actual 'Aperture' cards and two 'faux aperture' cards.

1. An actual aperture card using SW striplet.

2.  A faux aperture card using ink blended through a mask and then the I stamped the details over the inked 'Aperture'

3.  Karen's brilliant 'Happy' Aperture card made with Creative Expressions die.

4.  Lilian's faux aperture card,  made using some lovely papers layered and topped with that beautiful butterfly.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Inked & Tiled Aperture card

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

I hope today finds you as well as possible,  gentle hugs as always for those that need one 😍πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜

Today I am sharing the card I made yesterday afternoon using papers from the 'Inked & Tiled" collection.  I started with a white base card, then cut two pieces of the patterned paper and One piece of Pool Party card, I used the nesting dies in two different sizes to get the layered aperture, the largest of the shaped dies to cut the top layer then the Pool Party layer with the next size die down.  The sentiment was cut with smallest of the dies. I raised the top layers on foam pads to give some depth to the card. The finishing touch was the little pearls at each end of the sentiment.

I hope that you all have a lovely Wednesday,

Love & hugs to all of you,

Faux Aperture card

πŸŽ‰Happy Birthday LyndaπŸŽ‰

Good Morning Ladies,

Please join me in wishing our lovely friend Lynda a Very Happy Birthday, I hope you have a lovely day Lynda, sending love & hugs πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³❤️

I think the sun has put his on and go off on his holidays!  It certainly doesn't look like he's coming back for atleast a week.  On the plus side we will only have to do the mammoth task of watering the garden a veg plot every other day this week.  Tje downside is it might take longer for our strawberries to ripen!

We had one tub full last week,  I made the most incredible Strawberry ice-cream with them, it was hands down the best Ice-cream I have ever tasted.

We had some money from Paul's mum at Christmas so we treated ourselves to a 'Ninja Creami', which is an ice cream maker that makes many other desserts too.  One of my guilty pleasures is a McDonald's McFlurry, we usually get one when we finish shopping or go to cinema.  So we bought this machine to make 'McRiley's' at home, I bought some soft serve ice cream mix and poured it into one of the tubs and popped it in the freezer overnight,  I can't tell you how excited I was,  after its frozen you place it into the machine and it churns it into soft ice cream,  I crushed some maltesers and you can add them and machine will gently stir them through the ice cream.  I served some for everyone and the room went silent,  it was a triumph,  the icecream was exactly like the store bought stuff.  Next was strawberry icecream, I chopped strawberries,  added them to a bowl with sugar, 1 teaspoon golden syrup, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, set aside for ten minutes and the stir in double cream, pop in tub and freeze, we took it out Sunday night and put it in the machine,  we just weren't prepared for how how incredible it tasted, just like fresh strawberries and cream!   Lucy is looking forward to making some Sorbets, Soph is looking forward to making frozen cocktails!!  Paul and I are excited to be guinea-pigs πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Today's card was super quick,  I made similar one many years ago,  I masked off a square on my card front Nd blended 'Lost Lagoon' ink through to create a 'faux aperture',  next step was to stamp the Dandelions over the 'aperture' I used the same ink but built up the colour.  I added the sentiment to finish and then layered the card front onto a mat of Lost Lagoon card, then onto a white card base.

I hope you all have a good Tuesday,

Sandra

Sue's Anniversary Aperture card

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but here go. Welcome July !!

It barely seems a couple of weeks ago that we were getting ready for Emily's wedding and that was in May !!  Sadly the weather isn't what you'd hope ot would be for July,  watching the weather last night the chap said we'd be lucky to make it to 20° for the next week or so!  So don't pack your jumpers away!

We had a very relaxed weekend,  Paul mowed lawns,  did some wood chipping to get rid of his prunings!  I did very little, i just couldn't summon up the energy, despite having 3 nights with no getting up to go to bathroom 😁

Sue kindly shared the lovely card that she made last weekend for Chris for their 38th Wedding Anniversary.

I love the clean & simple design you have used, its so pretty but not 'too much ' so totally great for a man card. You could change the accent colour and add a pretty rose to make it work for a lady too. It never ceases to amaze me how much a few scored lines add to a card, now my question is.....'Did you score the lines before or after die cutting the heart?? I would say after as the score lines look very crisp and putting them through die cutter would distort the embossing a little. I also really like the Navy & White combination its so clean and crisp! Is that Anna Marie Designs Dotty card I spy??

Thanks for sharing your Anniversary card Sue its lovely, I'm sure Chris appreciated it too.

I hope that you all have a great start to your week,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra
