Cyanotype Thrinchie 1

Good Morning Ladies,

Today's gentle reminder applies to all of you,  you are all more than enough xx

Another week is almost over,  where do these days go??!  We have bladder clinic today,  the girls want to make the most of the trip to Cirencester and have lunch out and maybe look in a few shops too,  depending on the weather of course.

Brenda if you are looking in, I hope that you are recovering well and the physiotherapy isn't too exhausting, I'm sure you can't wait to get home to your own bed.  Although I'm sure there is plenty going on around you to keep you entertained.  🤣😉sending you love & gentle hugs on the way xxx

Yesterday I saw that Tracy Evans did  video on 'Cyanotype' or it's sometimes called 'Sun Prints'

Here is a brief description:

A cyanotype is a historic, camera-less photographic process that produces striking Prussian blue prints (often called blueprints) by using light-sensitive iron salts, sunlight (UV light), and water to create white silhouettes of objects on a blue background.

So I decided to make a pair of Thrinchies using the 'Faux Cyanotype ' technique

I took my Thrinchies and taped off a small border around the edges of the Thrinchie.  Then I inked the whole piece with Blueprint Sketch Oxide ink.   I picked out a couple of different silhouette stamps (important for this technique).

I took white opaque ink pad and inked up a Berry stamp and stamped onto the inked background, I did a light inking on some of the berries and then I inked ( wiped the stamp before re-inking or you will end up with Blueprint Sketch on your white ink pad) stamped and repeated  a few times to get a whiter image, so that there is a variation of colour there would be naturally.  I added some little spatters of water to bleach out a little more ink.

I mounted the thrinchie onto a black mat and added a description/sentiment.

I will share the other thrinchie tomorrow.

I hope that you all have a good day,

Love & hugs to all of you

Sandra xxx

  1. Hi everyone
Love your Thrinchie and the technique 😍 Will look forward to seeing the other one tomorrow.
I hope bladder clinic goes well and you have a nice lunch out with the girls 🥰
Another wet day here! Already been out with Barney, so won’t be venturing out again. I’m going to be in my craft room and also trying to set up my new printer 😊
    Have a good day everyone
Sending hugs to you all xx

  2. Hi Sandra and all looking in. Lovely page yesterday, as usual I thought I had looked in!
The flower looks really 3d doesn’t it. I deliberately didn’t look at any of the other beautiful Stamperia collections when I ordered mine as I knew I would then be stuck trying to decide between them all 🤭 I hope you got on well at clinic this morning and enjoy your lunch out with the girls my lovely xx
I am still making the same two cards I started earlier in the week. I had to laugh at the saying yesterday as I definitely have to try and get used to going slowly!
Brenda, sending you gentle hugs. I hope you are able see lots of people. People watching does help the time go by xx
Have a good day everyone. It is very grey here. Take care. Love Sue xx

  3. Hi everyone
Like Sue I have lost a day. Really thought I had been in but not so. I love the page tho, so many pretty elements.
Today's thrinchie is lovely. White ink is something I haven't got except for watercolours.
Hoping that the bladder clinic went well for you.
Brenda, hoping that you are alright. They got you up and walking quickly didn't they. Just take it slowly and you will soon be back home again. Lots of gentle hugs just for you.
Karen, hopefully you won't have to wait too long. Sister in law waiting too but she will have both done at the same time under sedation so she had to have her heart checked first.
Horrible weather today, I hate it but we went into town for haircuts and some other bits for our upcoming holiday to Zell am See 😊
Many hugs to you all, hope you have a good day xxx

  5. Hi, another wet day, so wish we could have a few dry days.
Your thrinchie is very interesting, love the white stamping.
Not managed any crafting today, Sainsbury’s were late today so that threw me behind all day.
Hope the bladder clinic went well, and lunch with your girls was enjoyable.
Hope all are keeping well, Lilian
