Roll on the more Spring like weather 😊
I hadn’t heard of Oligarth until the other day, and had to ask Mark what it was ☺️ I’ve never really thought of the origins of the words, but I do sometimes check the online dictionary before typing to make sure I’m using the right word and in the right context (such a rigmarole 😂) When you think about it, our spelling and meaning of words must be quite confusing for anyone learning it! I’ve seen many comments on social media with people correcting someone’s spelling of a word - the most common being ‘there, their, they’re’.
Sorry, I went off on a bit of a tangent there, didn’t I! ☺️
I’m off to Hobbycraft today and then hoping to feel inspired to do some crafting.
Have a good day everyone. Sending hugs to you all xxSonia Stephensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10959626260133692438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8956760013891051450.post-52347112846324189712022-03-04T08:31:58.465+00:002022-03-04T08:31:58.465+00:00Great idea for a challenge I might go for stripes ...Great idea for a challenge I might go for stripes as I don’t think I have ever made a card with a striped background
I use the word rigmarole In fact I used it in a WhatsApp message the other day and was surprised to see it come up in predictive text
I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon crafting with young Nicki She made a couple of cards with an AALL AND CREATE stamp ( a company she hadn’t seen before) and I played with a turnabout stamp Hhmm jury is out on that one
Out dancing later
Take care everyone xkarenlottyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00314141032092834388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8956760013891051450.post-40298062478355648692022-03-04T07:24:08.527+00:002022-03-04T07:24:08.527+00:00Morning Everyone

Ah well it won't hurt to make my 'little grey cells' work a little harder.lol

So for me it's 'swearing' day of course and Mr Tesco is delivering this morning too. I also have to send off my CC for this week.

The subject of not knowing where words come from is a very common topic in this house. Jim is the only person I know who actually 'reads' the dictionary. He'll start by looking for the word he needs but then gets distracted and spends the next hour or so reading the book.
He just has to know the origin of words and when he's watching tv he comments on how someone pronounces words correctly. Is this just in our house?

The CAFE is OPEN so pop in out of the rain and cold for a nice cuppa.
HUGS are winging their way to you all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxxjanethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14769057785697422382noreply@blogger.com
