The Distress Oxide Version

Good Morning Ladies,

Well that was a bit of a warm one wasn't it?  I hope that you all managed to find a way to keep cool.  I was in and out all day,  I just can't sit out in the heat like Paul can,  I also get bored if I'm not doing anything,   I kept looking round finding jobs that needed doing.   We have switched the Aga off for the summer,  the kitchen was unbearable with it on.   I would say that we have been having salads so it's been easier as far as cooking goes but with all the bits and pieces, pasta salad, potato salad, homemade coleslaw etc its harder work than cooking a roast dinner!   We had our first Jersey royals last night with a little butter and they were delicious 😋

Brilliant artwork,  perfect reminder!!

I did another Distress Oxide/ Ink comparison with these two cards.  I do think that the Inks (right) are slightly more vibrant on this occasion.

I did have to stamp the flower (leaving it in the stamping platform) then use the stencil to add the Oxide inks, I then had to place the inked piece back into the stamp platform and restamp the image as the oxides covered the black ink.  I like both versions,  the oxides just need that extra step.

I hope that you all have a good day,

Love & Hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

  1. Hi everyone
I love today’s daily reminder, one for us all 🥰
Love your second card today, and another great colour combo. I find it difficult stamping in black over oxides, as the impression isn’t as good, and definitely need to do it a couple of times!
Too hot for us yesterday too 🥵 we stayed indoors with the fan on and binge watched a Netflix series.
Just looked at the weather forecast for next week and it’s cooling down with rain. Typical as we’re going away! Oh well they’ll be plenty to do, and I’ve booked a 3 hour spa experience 😊
    Hope you’re all keeping well
    Hugs to you all xx

  2. Hi Sandra and all.
Lovely cards, on both days. I really like those pops of colours behind. Thank goodness for stamping platforms as we wouldn’t attempt to re stamp the black again free hand would we xx
I haven’t drunk tea or coffee since my early 20’s due to my U.C. just lots of water and sometimes camomile tea. I do still really miss a mug of builders tea even now though.
We are relaxing and having a slow start. None of us have ever been to this area so it is interesting to look around. Not sure we will be doing much today though.
Stay cool everyone. Take care. Love Sue xx

  3. Great reminder for us all
The DO version is definitely brighter If I remember rightly when I was using layering stamps I had to stamp the fine line image last over DO and possibly a few times to to get a darker image
At John Lewis this morning and probably a nana nap this afternoon
    Take care everyone xx

  4. Hi everyone
Wonderful cards but my favourite is the ink version even if the DO colours are great together again. Love today's reminder.
Phu hasn't it been a hot day today. We went into city this morning at 9am to have hair cuts and a few bits for upcoming holiday. By the time we had been about three hours I felt ready to collapse so we bought a few easy cook dinners for the next few days. No cooking tomorrow ,yay 😊. Back home I got the fan going and kept the curtains and window shut. I hope that you all taking care in this hot weather and look after yourselves. Many hugs to you all, Maria xx
